All I can say, is DO NOT hire this contractor. If I could rate them with a Negative 10 star score, I would. I will be taking them to court IF, after I gather up three bids to fix what was done incorrectly on a deck rebuild, he doesn't pay us to have another contractor come and fix their mistakes. The deck failed inspection, horribly, and we received a two page summary of everything that wasn't built to code from the building inspector. As a matter of fact, WE had to call the building inspector to come look at the work after it was completed (and paid for IN FULL) because Joseph Builders, LLC did not. Now we know why. Because IT FAILED. As mentioned, the deck they built for us FAILED inspection, with difficult repairs/ fixes now needed, like having to replace all of the very expensive posts, because they were not properly (or even minimally) set in the required concrete footings, and repairing a beam they knew was rotted. They replaced one beam, that was obviously rotted, but neglected to inform us about another beam; they just cut a little rot off of the end of it, and caulked it, but the beam was actually rotted another 6 inches in. They also took a full 10 inches off of the width of our deck without our knowledge OR consent. Unfortunately, we have had to replace the awning ($3,400), as it was built to be held up with stabilization arms that snapped into the top rail of the deck. Well, the arms no longer fit, as the deck is a foot narrower than the original deck... These will be very expensive repairs, as it was not done right, or even half-way right, the first, second, third, fourth, fifth or SIXTH time. I am sure I will hear from them regarding this review, but they don't have a leg to stand on. NOTHING I have written is untrue, so they can't sue me for liable or defamation of character. Again: DO NOT hire this contractor. read more
