Not for exceptional service, not for anything above and beyond--just for the standard service you're already paying for. It creates an awkward, pressured moment where you're expected to tip for something that has never traditionally involved tipping. That's not customer service--that's shifting the responsibility of paying employees onto customers. If prices need to go up, then raise prices. Be transparent about it. But adding a tip screen to a basic service transaction feels misleading and leaves a bad taste. There are plenty of other cleaners that don't put customers in this position, and I'll be taking my business to one of them. I'd strongly encourage the owner to rethink this approach if they value long-term customer relationships.

I had previously found a company that was equivalent to the big guys but wanted to see if I could find a better one and was glad I did. **I had a roommate with a carpet cleaner but once she moved out I started renting Rug Doctors to clean messier spots. I'd never had an issue until this past time, when, according to the 4 customer service reps I spent way too much time on the phone with afterwards, the vacuum wasn't properly working so it cycled dirty water through the carpet without picking it up. Needless to say, everywhere I "cleaned" dried a light brown color. They offered to give me a different machine for 24 hours and a new bottle of soap, but the damage was done and the stain did not lift. If nothing else, DON'T RENT A MACHINE TO CLEAN IT. Even though I'd had success with them before, they don't rinse between users or check for problems and it wasn't worth the hassle of getting the new soap and double labor only to make a bigger mess and have to hire a professional afterwards.
