I'm so incredibly impressed with his attention to detail and efforts to really get to the root cause of what was wrong. He's careful to take time with each patient and really listen to what is going on. Then he carefully decides the action plan, carefully selects the types of tests he needs to run to identify the root of the problem and utilizes the information to get his patients well from the inside out. You can tell he genuinely cares about his patients and deep down he IS genuinely a good person. So many other GI doctors just want to prescribe their patients a bunch of medications to cover up the problems. Dr Mark really wants to get you better! And the staff is always friendly and helpful. The test in themselves take around 3 weeks to get back the results and then your put on a waitlist to make an appointment to go over the results. In the meantime time is just passing by and you're suffering with no answers! They need a better system for appointments to go over results. We pay all this money and it just feels like we're put on the back burner while waiting for an appointment.

I started noticing changes around 48; my moods were off - patience was fragile which is not like me; eventually, terrible hot flashes started, and pretty much everything else started going sideways: mental fog, exhaustion, terrible sleep, and absolutely zero libido. I tried everything to find relief, the natural remedies, the over the counters, relaxation audio, yoga, massage.. omg what haven't I tried. I waited longer, did more reading and research and finally decided I had to do something - I was tired of feeling.. tired. Tired of whatever was causing me to feel definitely not me. Friends who are under his care for HRT recommended I talk with him. I booked my appointment with Dr. McMillan's office and anxiously awaited my consultation appointment. Dr. McMillen is not new to HRT, in fact he is board certified and has been practicing HRT for over 7 years. I sat down with him and had a long discussion about my health and concerns. I don't think I've ever sat down with a doctor and talked about what was going on with me, what I was looking to do to such length. So after a lengthy discussion about, well, me, what HRT is today, how it works, and what is possible, I was eager to move to step 2. We scheduled a blood draw and full body scan to get into what's going on inside - and this is not a standard blood draw; it's like looking at the roadmap of what's going on; it was incredibly fascinating, as well as seeing where I can improve. (As a fitness / health-minded person, it was data central to my geek heart). My "pellet" ingredients were manufactured based on this report and how we wanted to approach treatment, ease in, or full board, and I anxiously awaited my next appointment to get them. I was a bit nervous when I went back; I didn't know what to expect... and honestly, the local anesthetic was more "scary than the procedure itself. But, now that I've had my second, it was a piece of cake. The incision itself is very, very small, covered with a surgical strip and then another water proof bandage over. Very discret and high enough you don't have to worry about "sitting". No discomfort, no pain. I can't believe I waited this long to do this. So you say, get to what happened! I kept looking at the calendar, ok, when's it going to happen, what am I going to feel? Is my libido going to come back... and all the other parts dissipate like... let's just get real, discomfort....which was the worst of all things. A few weeks in I found out yet, this solved the problem. EVERYTHING was working as it used to! Here is a list of all the things that have come back: Libido and no discomfort (I think you get the picture here) Sleep - omg sleep is next level, in fact, I can't wait to go to bed because the sleep is incredible Focus - I'm no longer foggy, forgetful, and struggle to keep my thoughts straight. Fitness - decreasing body fat and increasing muscle definition again - I was struggling to keep what I had with the declining hormone levels. General mood/energy - I felt like a frickin' tiger about 3/4 of the way through the first three months (and before your next pellet session) in which the hormones start naturally tapering, and each upcoming load generally increases baseline, so you begin to keep a higher base level. I genuinely feel Dr. McMillan is the perfect choice based on his level of genuine care and interest, his experience, and his credentials. And it's not just for women... men go through it too, and they're just as many seeking relief; it's ok to take charge of your health to feel good. His reason for what inspired him to step into this field is heartfelt in wanting others not to live our "older years" unnecessarily dwindling. I scoured the websites looking for a…read morenaturopath in the Fresno area, with the understanding my insurance would not cover any of my treatments with any such doctor. I had been quite ill for about three years and became frustrated with all of the poking and prodding ( 3 surgeries, and 1 year of physical therapy) my primary and all 14 specialists were asking me to endure. My labs, tests, cat-scans, MRI's and surgical findings always came up "inconclusive" or just "slightly off/out of range", no real definitive answer or name for why I felt so awful and my body was morphing into someone I no longer recognized. After the last major surgery I was desperate to feel well again and deteriorating quickly, with no faith in the physicians and surgeons caring for me. My primary said I was just a sensitive woman and indicated I may just have anxiety issues. Enough was enough, I took a leap of faith and emailed Dr. Tais who kindly responded and answered my questions about billing, payments , labs, and tests before scheduling a first visit via email. She let me know I was welcome to telephone with any other questions. I did telephone and she called me back, I was a little surprised at first because rarely does the actual provider speak to you on the phone themselves. Upon our first visit I found Dr. Tais to be kind, caring, patient, and a very good listener. She ordered a few labs, requested all of my records from my previous 14 specialists and primary care doctor and said she'd phone when results came in. In ONE VISIT and ONE ROUND OF LABS she chose to order she found the culprits of my rapidly declining health!! ONE VISIT !!!!! I was relieved and upset all at once, I wasn't crazy after all and SHE found out what was wrong in ONE VISIT!!! One of my first questions after wrapping my head around the treatment and the fact that I absolutely knew something was wrong with my health was..... "Did my previous panel of physicians miss this key indicator in my many rounds of labs with them?" Yes , they did!! It was right there in the labs that they forwarded to her themselves in black and white. It has taken everything in me to not go back in to every one of their offices and point out on their labs and her labs the egregious oversight that robbed me of 3 years of my life!! The doctors that my insurance would cover visits for wasted my time, resources, ordered time away from work, and missed my children's many milestones (years of my life) because they overlooked their own orders and labs. I am not a wealthy person and have paid a few thousands of dollars over the past three years trying to resolve my health issues. Had I only known about Dr. Tais and her practice I would have spared the three years of damage to my body, and had a much healthier and larger savings account. She is now the only doctor I trust, I chose to continue with her practice even after pinpointing the root cause of all of my many symptoms and am now a loyal and lifelong patient. I am feeling so much better now and we are working to fine tune the treatments to get me back to optimal health!!! The follow up visits (much less than the initial setup appointment) aren't too much more expensive than my regular copays with my health insurance and my husband agrees that Dr.Tais is worth every penny!!!
