We got to choose from breaded or non-breaded and a few different flavours of wings like Salt & Pepper, Smokey BBQ, Sweet Heat, and Spicy Buffalo. It was about a 20-30 minute wait for the wings so we did find it a bit long. The service was average and nothing notable. But when the wings did arrive, they were served with a ranch dipping sauce and it was hot & fresh! We got a few more rounds afterwards (that didn't look or weren't plated as nicely but still tasted good) and enjoyed it a lot. It was $25 for AYCE wings but it also included a $10 credit to play any of their arcade games. That's a pretty good deal in our opinions! We'd likely return for more wings if we feel like eating abnormal amounts again!

But if you've made it this far, let me tell you about the magical and prehistoric collector's items available at John's Jukes. First and foremost are the Jukeboxes, old delightful automated DJ machines that take everything from loonies to nickels. One of the Jukeboxes is fashioned to look like the back of a hot pink convertible, perfect for making your living room look like Pop Tate's Soda Shop in Archie Comics. Most of the other ones can be summed up by referencing the opening montage for Happy Days. There is also a wide variety of pinball machines, with every co-opted franchise from Star Wars to Kiss, and a few video game consoles that have been manhandled by fastidious fingers for over 40 years. But it's a high price to pay for nostalgia, with items ranging from several hundred dollars to several thousand. If you do miss Frogger that much though, it's the right place to go, just make sure that you have a truck nearby so you don't have to maneuver the console through traffic.

Now, I am not a pinball game player, nor am I a jukebox expert, but I love the way they look in a large living room or a retro restaurant. And this place has some of the more unique items. From brightly decorated machines that play music the old-world ways (with coins) to pinball machines that cost a few thousand dollars, this travel time back to more beautiful days gone by is worth a visit.

We came by on a Friday afternoon and purchase the $20 package for (if I remember correctly) 105 "points" to play with. Each machine can take anywhere from 12 to 21 (there may be a higher cost one that we missed) "points" for each attempt. I will say that we VERY quickly went through the $20, and the hubby ended up getting another $20 reload and asked if one of the games could be reset. The employee was very nice and helped reset the game, and we were (eventually) able to win one of the plushes! It's a clean area, and it seems to be a favorite for groups of friends and couples. The plushes are cute, and some are available for purchase (if you just have to have it!). I wouldn't mind going back again, though my heart dropped each time the claw grabbed the toy and immediately dropped it instead of moving to the chute with it. :') It's in the Aberdeen Centre, 2nd story!

There are a couple pineball machines, a couple digital dart boards, a shooting game, one skiball.... I heard there is usually Nintendo, but likely that's off limit now because of covid-19. It be way cool if they had a pool table, but the bar is just too small. With COVID, u can only have one group playing games in one area and the bar is so small there just isn't enough options. The Den does have a bunch of tvs so its good for watching a game. They also have a jukebox which is cool, but u can't use it if the game is on. I would visit this bar again simple because the drink prices are so reasonable and they also have daily specials. I took a star off because of the serious lack of food. The food is basically hot dogs, popcorn, and pizza pops lol. Pizza pops hey???? Surely they can do better. Also, the girls bathroom smells like cat litter which is pretty gross, so i took a star off for that. For th3 most part, the staff were friendly, except for this one moment when a patron was standing at his own table watching the TV for like 30 seconds and an employee told him to sit down. It was pretty loud, he raised his voice from across the room which was unprofessional, but my question is what's the big deal?? You are at your own table, its an "arcade" where most the time u are standing. Its not a covid rule that you can't stand at your own table. He wasn't mingling, there was no one else even around. It was strange and kinda rude. Ayways, if u want a couple quick drink for a reasonable price check it out. If COVID ever dies, maybe it would be a little more exciting.
