All the fridges here are vintage. Two more wood dining tables.

Second time coming back, but I actually got a chance to try the food this time. Pro tip: Always come to Jones Store prepared with plenty of cash. Jones Store is a no nonsense type of establishment. There's no arguing or negotiating anything on the menu. It's a real rustic joint with a lot of personality. The food's ready when the food's ready and your only option is to deal. With that said, the food is incredible and well worth the wait. I recommend getting here early but not too early so you can put your order in and get ready to dig in. I ordered a cheeseburger and a slice of pie. The cheeseburger was hands down one of the best that I've had. It comes on a soft potato roll, but kind of long like a French roll and what I'm guessing is cheese baked on top. So it's not quite a cheeseburger bun, but a larger and longer bun. You're basically getting your money's worth. The pie was divine. It was something akin to a religious experience. I received a slice of Blueberry Apple Pie à la mode. It was heavenly. It would knock Dale Cooper's socks off, if you know what I mean. You would be extremely hard pressed to do any better than this. Order your food, sit outside, enjoy the view of Beasore Meadow, then sit back and relax.

Get there early cause they will sell out

Awesome fantastic pie .. hamburger was good to after you eat your pie (get your pie first cause they will sell out) continue down the road 6 more miles to globe rock

Rode my motorcycle to jones store today. I have herd so much about the burgers and pie. The burger was very tasty, it was on hoggi roll which for my taste is too much bread. It had tomatoes, pickles, onions no lettuce. Abut 1/2 pound of beef which was more than I can eat. The pie: I asked several times what flavor the pie was?? Her answer we only have two kinds? Pie and no pie. I saw several orders of pie go by, it was heaped wit ice cream and whipped cream! For $10.00 it is a great deal. Next time I will go for the pie and skip the burger. It is a great ride on the motorcycle although the road from bass lake to jones is curvy with many switchbacks. I highly recommend you enjoy this hide away at least once, I know I will be back I can't wait to find out what flavor the pie is. Then the mystery will be solved!!!!!!!! It is rustic but nice. Around 7,000 feet elevation. It has limited seating inside but ample places outside.

This place is the same as it was 22+years ago when I first stopped in. It's a rustic joint nestled in the mountains open during the summer months. First cold snap and they usually end up closing up as the roads close and the snow piles up. When it is open be sure to bring a sweatshirt as it's cooler weather even on a sunny day. Lots of mismatched furniture and tables and more than a few really retro friges make for an eclectic decor. Those retro friges hold a variety of soda in cans and bottles of water. Do yourself a favor and ask what pie is available and be sure to order at least one slice. Also be sure to order a burger/cheeseburger....something about that old flat top griddle in the middle of the sugar pines that just hits the spot. The air is so clean and fresh. The crew working is always super nice and willing to strike up a conversation. You'll usually find a few folks outside sitting around catching up on the news and talking about old times. Jones Store is quickly becoming a place to head towards for some fresh air and good simple food.

This is a great little spot to stop if you are up near Beasore Meadows above Bass Lake. We were out today picking Elderberries and Gooseberries and stopped in and had a great lunch. The portions are enormous and it is such a quiet little spot to have a meal. This is pure rustic old-world charm with no frills. Just good old-fashioned cooking. They only take cash so be prepared. This is well worth the trip even if you aren't coming to the mountains to do anything else.

I felt like a cowboy in 1940. No cell service, the nicest people in the world. Amazing pie a la mode, righteous cheeseburger! A little expensive, but who cares! It's worth a stop.

Stopped here for lunch on a motorcycle ride, it's like stepping back in time. The first thing you might notice outside is the antique gravity feed gas pump. The way it works is they hand pump fuel from their storage tank into a glass reservoir at the top of the pump. Gravity then takes over as they pump into your vehicle. It's a really interesting process to watch and I heard it's the only certified fuel pump of its kind left in California! Inside they have a small menu including burgers, grilled cheese, and a wonderful tri tip sandwich which I definitely recommend. It's a large sandwich served on perfectly toasted bread with tomato, peppers, onions, and cheddar. Staff is very nice, I heard that the original owner was a WWII fighter pilot.

That's 3/4 of the tasty cheeseburger...WOW....

But up here.. A lovely 75.. I think it's run by a family..,very nice friendly.. Flavortown at its finest!!!

Aspen trees for miles…read more I always make a point to stop here just to witness the Aspens changing color, a breathtaking transformation that typically peaks in late October. It's absolutely worth the short detour. Located approximately 20 mins from Yosemite's entrance at Tioga Pass. These golden groves are located just before the entrance to the campground. While I'm not much of a camper myself, I did stroll through the site to get a feel for it just incase I ever change and become a camper. It's serene, quiet, and beautifully nestled alongside Lee Vining Creek. The area is shaded by trees and offers amenities like restrooms and picnic tables. If camping is your thing, I recommend checking out their website for more details. Even if you're not into camping, catching the Aspens in their autumn glory should be on your list if you're in the area between late October and early November.

We arrived on a Friday afternoon without a reservation, and began to mildly panic one we learned most of the sites had already been taken. Luckily we came across some super friendly Aspen Campground regulars, who invited us to share their double site which just happened to be situated in a prime spot right next to the beautifully bustling river - SCORE! The Big draw to Aspen is hands down the fishing. It just so happened that right before we arrived the local hatchery dropped a load of fresh trouts, ready to be hooked! This was my first time fishing, and I was able to catch (and Cook) my very first fish! If you like to fish and you like to camp, going to Aspen is a no brainer. The trees are also large and plentiful, so if you come, don't forget to pack your hammock!

In short, this is a "maybe" recommendation…read more To preface, I have visited Yosemite National Park many many times, with many many stays at campgrounds, the Yosemite Valley Lodge & The Ahwahnee. My family loves this park so much that my husband & I chose to get married there last year. I think overall this is an okay campground for the most part. It is well located within the valley loop. It is close to some popular hiking routes, is next to Merced river and just down the road from Curry Village. However, a few things to note that didn't make it a 5-Star stay. 1) Customer service - upon entry, we were greeted by two very friendly hosts. Our party had a physically disabled person with handicap plates on the car. One of the hosts let us know that the stall we parked a car in (temporarily) to unload was designated for law enforcement, but okayed us unloading for 10 minutes. We appreciated the info and consideration. Nearing the 10 minute marker another/separate host approached us really quite aggressively, yelling about us breaking the law and that we need to move immediately. We explained the discussion with the prior host we spoke to, but this one kept yelling at us about how our car looked empty (it wasn't) and wouldn't stop yelling at us until we moved. We totally get the technicality of the stall, but we did receive an okay from another host and this guy was just aggressive as hell with no regard to ADA considerations in a very temporary situation. No law enforcement used it the entire time we were there (several days), did 10 minutes kill them to let a disabled guest unload?? It just was not very host like and incredibly unprofessional. Approach would have meant everything. To add to the poor customer service, we were later accused of pushing the limits with our tents and having more than 6 people (we only had 4 people) despite other campsites directly next to us having at the least 8-10 people, who lit fires mid-day, who had on occasion left their fires completely unattended, and who smoked weed and screamed & talked loudly way after noise cutoffs.. yet no host was approaching them about any of that. 2) some campsites were way overgrown with weeds and fallen over tree trunks. 3) no soap in the bathrooms. As a lover of this park who has stayed more times than I can count, the stay this time at North Pines overall was just okay. The lack of customer service and disregard for disabled persons from some of the hosts was something I don't think myself nor my family will soon forget. I've/my family had never been made to feel like that before, especially at a place that wants conservation support and goes through so much to accommodate ADA.

Best campsite at Yosemite!…read more A bit more off the track versus the other campsites, conveniently located near the Mirror Lake trail. Wedged between a river and a creek, and the creek can be waded in. 1/2 mile to Camp Curry with amenities. Bathrooms were clean but lacked soap for hand washing throughout the visit. We were in campsite 504 which is basically the best one. We really lucked out. Creek and river adjacent. Downside is that we had lots of visiting campers, a bit lacking privacy. Bear bins for food storage are plentiful in space and secure.

They were welcoming and assisted promptly with adjusting our reservation so we didn't have to move sites mid-stay. The campsites are well-maintained. Steph and Tatiana scurried about keeping the restrooms spotless and preparing sites for the next campers. They too were very friendly and helpful. The campground has many wonderful sites, some by the creek, others more private on the outer edge, still others with open areas where families and children can play. It's an advantage that about half the sites are first-come-first-served. East Fork Campground is our favorite Eastern Sierras place to camp and this was our third trip.
