We have a 16 year old Avalanche truck and have repeatedly had problems with it maintaining a charge. Jones worked patiently with us to resolve a perplexing problem and I think we may have resolved it! Repeat visits did not charge additional service charge but diligently worked to resolve the problem which we greatly appreciated. I also have a work vehicle that i take there and they are always gracious in fitting me in when I don't have an appointment - mostly - the receptionist always seems frustrated but maybe i am interrupting something I'm unaware of? I think its hilarious that a service bay HAS a receptionist but i am all for more jobs! We recently took the long drive to Jones Chevy because I had a water leak in my 2013 Chevy Silverado, and they had Water Doctor there every other week. We were greeted with a smile from Ryan O' Rourke, the service advisor, who also checked my truck in for an issue with squeaky brakes and the service park assist light. He constantly kept me informed of the status of the vehicle, while it was serviced by Greg Pittman. Greg was able to take care of the brake squeak, and the service park assist light, taking the time to explain to me why these things occurred. Ed Cromer from Water Doctor was able to fix my leak, which others could not previously. It was a long ride well spent, and I will highly consider making the trek to have my major service done here. When I went in to buy my truck in 05, I was treated like royalty. After the sale was final and I started noticing problems with the truck, the service Dept always said they couldn't duplicate the problem and wouldn't do anything to fix it. After the warranty was over, they could hear it! I'll never buy another vehicle from this business again. read more

I have been a long time customer of Jones Chevrolet. I purchased my Chevy Tahoe from them and have always had it serviced there. I recently had my car serviced for issues with my speedometer. The fix unfortunately caused the control panel on my steering wheel to go out. The service department took responsibility for the problem and corrected the issue. I'm pleased with the service I received and will continue to do business with Jones Chevrolet. read more

The dealers know how to pry on the inexperienced. Our adventure started with our purchase of a 2011 Malibu. Because my husband was young, naive, and new to the USAF, they saw a good deal coming. After it was all said and done he walked away with financing through Jones because "that's just how we do business." 14.9 APR. Fast forward 2 years later and we trade the Malibu in for an Equinox. I was with my husband this time and I had done my research. I would not be played like a fiddle. Needless to say we didn't have to finance through them, we didn't have to settle for the price they were asking, and we didn't get taken advantage of. Service department is CRAP! Since the Equinox we have had normal routine maintenance done like clockwork. I was raised to be a stickler for car maintenence. Take good care of your car and you will go far my dad always said. Everytime we go in we wait ALL day. While Jimmy the driver who will take you to work or home while you wait is phenomenal, the Service Manger and the rest of the face of the service department are garbage! Money hungry and unwilling to acknowledge their ignorance. Example, I go in and ask for an oil change, by the end of the oil change I have a 800 dollar bill. The last time they serviced my car (3000 miles prior) they didn't properly check it and there were lots that needed to be done. They make the corrections without my knowledge and then charge me out the..... and then have the nerve to ask me if I can leave it overnight and put me in a rental for a day. My car needed an oil change, filters replaced, tires replaced, tires aligned, breaks done, etc. All of which I asked to have checked and replaced if needed 3000 miles before to which they said all were good. That was September, it is December now. I am moving and would like my car to be serviced one last time. The oil changed, overall inspection, and changes made if needed to accommodate the new climate change. I was quoted 400 at the beginning of November and told "we've never done anything like that, but we can do it, about 2 hrs, but we can do it." I call the first week of December to schedule the appointment, "well we will have to special order parts and our guys have never done that, but we can do it for 700 dollars." Needless to say I gave up on Jones Service Department and went to another auto repair, commercially owned and highly recommended, not Walmart (if that's what your thinking). To my surprise my battery is bad (supposed to have been checked in September), my tires are questionable (the new tires I had put on in September by Jones), my Cabin Filter is squished and shredded, the only thing Jones appeared to have gotten right was the oil change. I will never go to or recommend Jones for anything! read more

The service air bag light came on in my 2017 Traverse. My husband inspected (he does electrical work) and found the problem. I had a 10:00 appt at this dealership, at 10:45 the service writer called to tell me what the repairs would cost. (Note: no way could it have been more than 45 minutes labor). I was told the connector would arrive the next morning (They open at 7:30 am) I was called at 9:36 am to say my vehicle was repaired and ready for pickup. it was impossible to have been more 2 1/2 hours labor (Note: I picked up my vehicle and was astounded to see $500.00 labor charges. When I called the co-owner to ask about the labor charges, he talked about how unfortunate it is when a animal gets under the hood and chews, etc. and how it is sad but it takes a long time to diagnose these kind of problems and how much damage can be done, basically he went on and on. However, I reminded him the service advisor had called me 45 minutes later and it was impossible for the diagnosis to take longer than 45 minutes. He continued (still not hearing the time line). He said he would check and call me again. The next day, he called to apologize and told me the repair for the connector and a splice kit $17.67 with tax was only a 10 minute job but all the labor charges were in the diagnostic. It is very frustrating because he still didn't process my complaint. He apologized and sent me (4) coupons for Tidal Wave car wash, and a letter saying "Congratulation" (literally that spelling) please have dinner for 2 at Outback Steakhouse $40.00. "Congratulation" on what, being royally ripped off? "Free" stuff doesn't make it any better! This is bad service and not recommended. Stay away! read more

I hate when I schedule an appointment for an oil change per the service rep so it would be faster. I've been waiting for easily over an hour for it to be completed.. What made it even worse is I wanted to wait at home for my truck to be finished. They waited for another hour to pass before he told me their driver is out for other customers. They also made sure my truck was LAST on the priority list. What horrible customer service!!!! Another issue is, if you are going to offer free WiFi make sure it works. I'm still sitting in their dumb lounge as I'm writing this. Dropped off my truck at 0830, it 1022 now. Updated: They have finished... Just about three hours for an oil change. This place is horrible. Time is 1119. Then the service rep had the balls to bring up other work I wanted to get done. I don't think that's going to be happening. The worse part of it all was them thinking they could keep my truck all day for an oil change. read more

I'm writing this review because Jones asked me to do so. I really don't have much to say, and not all of it is good. In general, it seems that it must be very difficult to be a Chevrolet dealer. When I decided to buy a new Volt, they didn't have one, and couldn't get one to Sumter for a test drive. Since then, my contact with Jones has been to get parts, including cargo nets of the sort that I got standard with the two Toyota Prii that I owned before the Volt. This has created difficulty because it was not readily discernible to the Parts folks at Jones what was available, and some floor mats, of all things, will take weeks for delivery. I'll have more to say about Jones after they actually see the car, and I hope it will be better, because they do seem to be genuinely nice people read more

Horrible! I will NEVER take a vehicle back to that service department again. I even stopped using my car care coupons because of the amount of time It would take to get a simple oil change, with an appointment mind you. Over a week ago I spent over $100 to be told that a part had to be ordered to fix my problem. I was told the part would be in later the next week (last week). I called on Friday to check on the part - told it had not come in yet (a week after the initial appointment). I called again today (Monday) and was told the part "just came in". Great! I explained that I really needed my vehicle completed by Friday because I was driving out of town with it. Then I was asked if I wanted an appointment for Friday? What? Nothing is available all week! So now I have to go pick up the part they ordered and take my vehicle someplace else to get it fixed. I would rather take my vehicle to Toyota to get work done on it and they don't even specialize in GM vehicles. I suggest anyone who purchases a vehicle through Jones to please talk to customers waiting for their vehicles to be worked on and not think the "tour of the awesome service department" reflects what you will get once you purchase that vehicle - NEVER AGAIN! Update - when I went to pick the part up, I voiced my dissatisfaction and asked for a print out of what they found wrong with my vehicle so I could provide it to the shop that will install the part. I was then pointed to a person in the service department that ended up promising me my vehicle would be fixed this week (on Thursday) if I had it to them by 0800 that morning. I sure wish the original person I spoke to would have told me the same. I still do not have an appointment but was told my truck would be fixed if the coordinator in the service department had to do it himself. I'm not feeling really good, but do feel better than I did before I spent my lunch hour down there, complaining. read more

BEWARE IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO TRAVEL TO BUY A VEHICLE FROM THEM!!!!! Horrible customer service! Talk to them over the phone at 8:30am about pricing on a vehicle and 3 hours later they still didn't called me back! After emailing them I get a generic response that the vehicle I was interested in was no longer available! They never called me back! I already have financing, I just needed to agree on the price before driving 3 hours to pick the vehicle up! I would NEVER recommend buying from this dealership unless you are standing on their lot. Here is their explanation: Jamie, After I spoke with you on the phone, my sales manager was not available at that time to discuss your desired pricing, a customer had came in to look at the vehicle and was highly interested. After they had test drove the vehicle it was already 10:30, which I wanted to see if they were or were not purchasing the vehicle before I contacted you back. By the time the customers credit application was submitted and they were approved for financing it was 11:30 which leaves me 15 min to contact you to let you know the vehicle has been sold... Hopefully you come to your senses in understanding that if I told you at 9:30 that okay we will do X amount of $ for that vehicle and had customers looking to purchase it at 10:30, it would have kind of screwed you over to go through the hassle of going to the bank, getting the financing and expecting to drive down here to a vehicle that is no longer on our lot because we do not hold vehicles under any circumstances. If someone wants to buy what is on our lot we allow it to be sold, especially if we have a customer shopping other dealers online and then never showing up for them to pick up the vehicle then we lost out on a sale of a customer who was actually physically here. I really hate to write this review since the sales people were so nice at Jones, but here is my story. My fiance went in to buy a used car. We knew going in that she had credit problems due to never financing a car before but she had great income. We looked a used car that was priced at $13,500. It was probable only about $200 overpriced per blue book, they said they would give her $500 on her trade in. They claimed that they had a hard time finding financing for her because she didn't put anything down, but finally got her financing. Here is where everything goes SHADY. They never showed her a break down. They claimed that they added $2,000 dollars to the car then showed her putting $2K down to maker her look better. (At one time they claimed that they were giving her $2,500 for her trade in, which was confusing), Then when they gave us her monthly payment, I flipped and asked what was the interest. The finance manager said 13.3%. My fiance heard it too. I did the math and it didn't add up correctly. Then my fiance got upset because I was questioning the math. So she agreed to the price. The next day I called and asked about the interest rate because the math didn't add up. The finance manager told me it was 16. something %. I told him they he previously said 13.3%, but he denied it and replied "hey you got a car without putting any money down, what can you complain about." I went to look over the paperwork and found out they the interest rate was not 16 but 17% and that they sold the car for $14,9000 and some dollars. So my fiance ended up buying a $13,000 dollar car for $15,000 at credit card interest rates. Also, they kept saying the car was a used fleet car. I later found out it was a used rental car, so I presume most of the mileage is city. I honestly could accept the whole thing since we can refinance it hopefully in a year and the car we traded in was a clunker, but the finance manager blatantly lied several time and they were obviously hiding the break down of the pricing.
