Ms. Taylor, Ms. Priscilla and all the teachers do such a great job at making SEA such a special place and learning so much fun . They teach our kids not only academics but also life skills and how to play in a very creative way which is a lot more important at a young age. They make holidays like mothers day, fathers day, Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentines super special and you feel like a big family. All the teachers were good but some were extraordinary Ms. Michelle, Ms. Emily, Ms. Cristy, Ms. Dianne, Mr. Nick, Ms. Myriam, Ms. Parvin whom I call the baby whisperer are all such kind, patient, caring teachers smd caregivers. We are so grateful for our time here and will miss our SEA family!!

Beyond that, they've also helped me build my own confidence as a parent, which has only strengthened and supported my connection with Annie. We'll greatly miss SEA and will forever be part of the family. 10/10 recommend!!

I literally take my child to school every morning at 7:15-7:18AM routinely through the drive through drop off patiently waiting for the gates to open for the solar panel parking. The Principle Regina Serbin rushes out to my truck YELLING "You can't be waiting in this line UNTIL 7:30AM when the gates open because you're blocking my staff from the parking lot" First of all HOW am I blocking the staff when the staffs cars I am blocking have already parked? This would not be a problem if they opened up the solar panel parking earlier for SAFER drop offs into the school. I didn't make a fuss so i said okay sure, what time can I start lining up? She says, "7:30AM when the gates open." Does she want everyone to START getting in line @ 730?! Like school starts 745AM people are gonna be late going to school, and driving through to WORK and cause traffic on the main street road - IT GETS DANGEROUS. i've asked all the traffic stop ladies in the morning when this gate opens up and where I can wait for drop offs, and everyone gives me A DIFFERENT ANSWER. The SECOND she tells me off that I cant park and wait in line to drop my child off, I drive ALL THE WAY AROUND and park on the STREET and then I see MORE people start waiting in the drop off line at 7:20AM, she does NOT say a WORD to them nor make them drive around UNTIL 7:30AM. If this is a problem SHE needs to be outside all morning regulating the traffic. - WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING 2 LANES (1 for buses and 1 for driving into the solar panel parking to drop your kids off. IF YOU CANT WAIT IN LINE UNTIL 7:30 ON THE DOT?? Every morning parents use the bus lane to drop their kids off QUICKLY, to avoid the CRAZY exit traffic from this school, they do not stop parents who park on the red curbs for drop offs (ALL OF THIS IS BECAUSE OF THE disfunctional management) OH be careful driving through the solar panel parking lot, your cars suspension will literally EAT every single hole & bump and cause you problems, don't know why this is taking so long to fix, and getting OUT from the solar panel parking is a NIGHTMARE. NO ONE to regulate the flow of traffic, you have parents fighting over getting out and going through the entire dirt field to EXIT the gates. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS FOR OTHER PARENTS. Fortunately this will be my child's last year here at Walker Elementary School.

Of course even more biased because I have been on the PTA here for the last 10 years. Gotta put a plug in for the PTA....but they work hard to make sure our staff and kids get 100% support! We have a lot of activities that we do for the kids from our money making Fall Festival, Spring Jog-a-thon, Family Movie Nights, Family Dance, etc. Casa Mira View across the street is a tremendous assistant financially to our school. Perfect place to live so the kids can walk right across the street. Our PTA supports an awesome art program through Art Corps. This allows the kids to learn 8 fantastic art lessons which we then present at the end of the year at our Art Show. With the support of our PE program headed by Mr. Kaneko the PE also helps fund our Swim Program. Grades 3-5 take part in a twice a week swim program for 6-8 weeks in the Spring. The drop off and pick up situation is dangerous at best. Just to put it into context, a child was hit by a car leaving the school last year. I have had my child enrolled in other schools and it was ran so much more smoothly and safely than this school. There is no accountability and children are released haphazardly off school grounds.

I appreciate that their curriculum includes SEL (social emotional learning) and that the students aren't allowed to have cell phones while on campus. The highlight of our experience has definitely been the fantastic teachers! Adrienne Reighard has been a phenomenal teacher for my third grader. She's genuinely interested in getting to know each of her students and finding ways to support their learning. She's so calm, patient and kind, yet firm enough that the kids listen and respect her. She goes above and beyond to create a supportive and efficient classroom environment. And as a parent, I really appreciate her clear, consistent communication. Becca, the 3rd grade teacher's assistant, is also proactive and really gets the kids. Patrick, the Spanish teacher, is one of the most dynamic, engaging, and effective teachers ever. His students love the fun activities and catchy songs he incorporates in his class. He makes learning fun! He also teaches chess and woodcarving and it seems like he can make any subject interesting. Kristy Fitts and Christie Fullerton were also great teachers, and planned lots of engaging projects, field trips, and holiday-themed activities. Nathan, the nature studies teacher, is fantastic and plans some great hands-on activities for the kids, like making their own salads to eat and making their own hugenkultur beds for gardening. For families who prioritize a nurturing environment with smaller class sizes and a variety of electives, this school has a lot to offer. The academics are more relaxed than rigorous, which would be a good fit for those prioritizing a balanced lifestyle. That said, we have found that the school has been navigating some challenges with managing disruptive behavior effectively, which impacts the learning environment.

We have been pleased with all of their teachers so far, but my son's 4th teacher Alexa really stands out. She is vibrant, engaged, and kind, and I can tell genuinely interested in the students and eager for them to learn. My son is sad to see this year come to a close because he has enjoyed the year so much. He has generally not been one to seek out opportunities to lead but Alexa has trusted him to do that, and I can tell it has boosted his confidence. My daughter's teacher this year for third grade is Adrienne. My daughter loves her. She said she is so patient and kind, but she get's the kids to learn. My daughter told me the other day that she wants to become a teacher because of Adrienne- what better testament to her teaching skills than that! My daughter will be sad to see the year come to a close as well. And finally I want to give a shout out to Natasha, the theatre teacher, and Sam, who teaches ceramics. Just wow. The theatre program at Innovations is truly one of a kind. She puts on so many shows, it is hard to see them all! I have enjoyed each and every show I have seen. My kids have also enjoyed classes with Sam. This is also a unique opportunity that not every school has to learn pottery, and working with ceramics to make various things like flowers, pizzas, ghosts, snow men. I love the projects they bring home. No school is going to be perfect, but as a family we are very grateful we found such an amazing school.
