He saw some of my Seminole gear so struck up a conversation. The play "Black Sheep" tells of a youth who was "tried as an adult" and served ten years in prison. Several characters agree Carl should not have been "tried as an adult." With prison behind him Carl is moving into his wealthy uncle and aunt's Guest House on their property. It's a tale of racism and touches, in a monologue, on elements of the Holocaust, too. This is theater of the absurd conjuring up a Jean Paul-Sartre play. Wooden barrels full of African art sculptures arrive one by one at the property because his uncle wants Carl, who is black, to feel at home. The play is also a study of the wealthy and how they are even said to "walk differently" for they have no worries. Also at the property is Carl's cousin Max who likes going into the guest house to "be alone." The uncle's wife seems to have a romantic interest in Carl as does Max's fiancé so Carl is rather popular with the ladies. The uncle is concerned that "people" are disappearing yet his uncle and aunt try to separately enlist Carl's help making people "disappear." There is a lot of talk of family and this riveting play will have one wondering just what sort of family this is. If you are into law, know this play touches upon Criminal Law and Wills & Trusts. Throughout it people appear and disappear in the barrel(s) from Africa. Due to sexual content I'd categorize this play as an explicit "R." That is I wouldn't bring Grandma (Abuela) to see. Contact Roderick Randle, Box Office Manager, for Group sales tickets if you want. Tiny theater is located directly on Main Street, Miami Lakes.

They offer some small snacks and wine for purchase if your need something to munch on. I saw Clark Gable Slept Here last month and just watched This Random World last night. Both were excellent and I will definitely be back again to watch the next play. Watching local theater whether community or professional is so magical. It gives young artists the opportunity to be seen and allows local communities to enjoy the arts without the heavy price tag. So if you are looking for something different to do on a weekend definitely come by Main Street Players and enjoy a play!

I learned so much in every single class I took. In university at USF I took a semester of ballet and the teacher complimented my technique as being the best one in the class, all thanks to the wonderful education I received at academy of arts. Now in 2025 my 3 year old daughter is taking classes and is enjoying every class. My mother, daughter and I recently went to the Christmas show and we were so proud to experience the show. It was such a great show, still professional and beautiful. 13 years later and Academy of Arts is still producing wonderful dancers. I highly recommend this studio to all dancers and artists who are eager to learn and perfect their craft.

This is a full dance school that offers: Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Pas De Deux, Lyrical, Tap, Hip-Hop, Flamenco, Modern Dance, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Drama, Piano, Guitar, Violin, and Voice. The faculty is certified and have led professional careers in their respective areas of creative expertise. They begin laying a foundation from the preschool years all the way to young adulthood. And they have both female and male students. They also offer an AfterSchool program and work your child's classes at a mutually suitable schedule. The cost of the classes is comparable to other dance academies. I have enjoyed closely watching the development in my niece, as well as in many of her close friends. I also look forward to their professionally-mounted recitals every year.

She likes going, she makes friends there and there are plenty of different levels of commitment for everyone. If you want to do competition, they have that, if you want to just go and take classes, they have that as well. My mother came down for the recital last year and really enjoyed it as well, you get to see all ages of girls and really watch them get better as they get older, some of the oldest girls were really amazing. Definitely recommend this place if you want to teach your kid commitment and discipline while they make friends and have fun.

I even said I wanted to just sign her up for Hip Hop and the very nice blonde lady insisted I try Ballet since it was complimentary and my daughter may end up liking it. Came by today with a very excited 4 year old ready to try beginners ballet. At the door, I was told I had to wait until after Labor Day because classes were changing. I asked if they had an update schedule which they didn't but they took my information to send once available. I left with a very upset and sad 4 year old. WHY would they offer a complimentary trial class and tell you to literally "just show up" to then be sent way? Very unprofessional. I was looking forward in enrolling my daughter 2 times a week. Now I'm back to square one looking for a new school. I am still in disbelief that they would turn away a four-year-old that they would turn away a four-year-old just because they only had 2 weeks left this month. You just lost a new customer.

I was especially excited because during Christmas time it was decorated as a Grinch-themed bar, which was super cute and festive. The drinks were very pretty and well-presented, but flavor-wise they just didn't really do it for me. The music also kind of threw me off -- it was much more vulgar than I expected, which I know fits a younger Miami vibe, but it felt like a bit much for my taste and didn't match the holiday theme I was excited for. The bartender seemed a little uninterested, and I wasn't a fan of the cocktails being pre-made, which took away from the experience for me. Overall, I love the idea and creativity behind the space, but it just didn't fully land for me. Glad I tried it, just not somewhere I'd rush back to.

For a spot where the drinks are full price I expect to be truly impressed from the cocktail options.

I proceeded to walk inside and I found a seat at the bar and I sat there. There were some people in there and I definitely wouldn't say it was dead, but it also wasn't crazy busy. There was three people working one lady with red shorts and curly hair another lady with blue pants and straight hair and then a short guy. I later seen a taller guy as I was leaving, he was not involved in my experience. The lady with the straight hair and the guy were on the side I was on they kept walking past and at no point seeing if I wanted anything, I know some bars you have to get the bartenders attention instead of them checking what you want so after 8minutes, I attempted to get the female's attention a few times for a few minutes and it did not work (she did serve other people during that time and was having conversation with ppl). Eventually, the lady with curly hair came to my side to make someone on her side's drink. I asked if I could order a drink and she motioned to give her a minute. She went back to her side, made the person's drink, then took some new orders from people and made their drinks and served beers.I waited over 6 minutes. Eventually she came to the side I was on and took the order of the person sitting directly to my right, completely ignoring me. At which point I concluded I was not going to get any service in this establishment and decided to leave after a total of 17 minutes of sitting at the bar and being completely ignored. I try to self reflect and think if I did something to warrant this treatment but I couldn't think of anything. The only thing that makes me feel slightly better is there was a guy sitting to my left that had a cup already and he kept trying to get her attention and she seemed to be avoiding him. I'm not sure if everyone was avoiding him for some reason and I was just unlucky for sitting next to him. I hated the feeling that this experience left me with and I hope no one else has this experience. The DJ was pretty good, even playing a few minutes of Reggae which surprised me. I ended up going to the Seminole Classic Casino and got service as soon as I sat down. The DJ was playing R&B and I ended up tipping him he was so good.
