He even offered to use a knife to 'fix it'. Maybe for low level things he is okay. He had no idea how to help with an injured foot. His office will charge you a small charge by mail after your visits from their "billing" people. You can't pay online and you can't pay when in their office. My best advice is to mail in your credit card number and then file a dispute when it shows up. That way you don't rack up their crazy interest. I did that and won the dispute same day. Money is mine. Super shady billing to make it a hassle for you and to take advantage of low resource people. Do better Dr. DuPont

Prior to…read morevisiting Dr. D's office, I was seeing a podiatrist that continued to recommend laser treatments for multiple affected nails. The treatments were expensive and ineffective. I was also purchasing several products that the doctor recommended that were mediocre at best. This continued for a year with no success. I decided to try a new podiatrist, Dr. Dupont, and during our first visit he recommended that we remove the nails. He also suggested different products that were significantly cheaper than what I was paying at the other office. Fast forward several months and my nails look brand new! If you're looking for an honest, thorough podiatrist, check out Dr. Dupont's office.

If you are a single parent or just a parent in general, DO NOT send your child with a caregiver or…read morefamily member to see Dr.Hoffman. He refused to provide care to my child because I was not PHYSICALLY present at the time of his appointment. My son who is only 10 years old, was suffering from a small ingrown toenail on his big toe. His primary doctor had referred us to Dr.Hoffman (Bay Area Foot Care in Berkeley) because of our insurance coverage. When I scheduled the appointment, a week prior, no one from his office told me that I needed to be physically present at the appointment. I completed all of the paperwork/medical authorization forms a few days prior, online when his office sent me the appointment reminder. I gave authorization for my brother to take him to the appointment because I could not miss more work. I had already missed work the week prior to have my son seen by his primary doctor and for other personal reasons. When my brother and my son arrive to the appointment, my brother calls me to let me know that they could not see my son since I am not physically present. I spoke with the receptionist who advised me that it was California law that a legal parent or guardian needed to be physically present because they need a signed consent before he can be seen. There is not California law that requires the presence of a parent or legal guardian, however, yes a consent form is needed to be signed by a parent or legal guardian in which I could sign via email and that same parent could give a caregiver or family member authorization to be present at the appointment. I've done this many times any time my son sees his primary doctor or a specialist. Never have they turned him away and I always have family members help me when needed. I also know this because I use to also work in the medical field and never, NEVER have I seen or heard that a doctor refused care because the parent wasn't physically present especially if they had consent/ medical authorization signed by the parent. The office manager, Elizabeth, was extremely helpful and understanding. She tried to help me by emailing me the consent form to sign so they can move forward with the minor procedure, however, even after doing so Dr.Hoffman still refused to help my son. Instead my brother and my son had to go to another location (different Bay Area Foot Care Clinic) and be seen by another doctor (Dr.Poggio) all because I was not physically at the appointment. The appointment took less than 15 minutes, my son called me right after and expressed how he loved Dr.Poggio. I cannot thank Elizabeth and Dr.Poggio enough for their support and assistance. As a mother, that made me feel better that my son was happy and finally received relief from his ingrown toenail. It is such a shame and horrible experience for my brother, myself and especially my son who already has a fear of doctors but was also in pain. We waited almost a week for this appointment and then to be turned away is upsetting. My advice to Dr.Hoffman, maybe you should close your practice to pediatric patients because there are a lot of single parents who are not always going to be able to physically take their child/children to an appointment and can appoint a caregiver or family member to do so for them , especially if a signed consent or authorization is or was going to be signed. It's already stressful for single parents to juggle life and then to have their child turned away from receiving medical care is saddening. I would never recommend you to anyone I know. I already contacted my son's primary doctor to notify them to never send a minor patient to your office. Terrible!

I don't know if it's legitimate for me to do this, but I'm going to cut and paste a review I left…read morefor Dr Battula in 2019 back when she was working with another group. Actually the review is listed as being for the office (which will go nameless here), but the review was based solely on Dr Battula. "I walk quite a bit, for exercise and for enjoyment, but I'd always "self-treated" and "self-diagnosed" for any foot issues until my first visit to a podiatrist a few years ago, when I went to Dr Battula to see what could be done about some fairly dramatic calluses I'd developed. She was able to help me with getting some quick results to lessen the problem, but also with longer term strategies to further reduce the calluses and to discourage their reappearance. And although the calluses had been my "presenting problem," Dr Battula was also able to diagnose a "hammer toe" issue I'd had for years on both feet, which I'd assumed was something I just had to live with. She recommended some simple and inexpensive toe splints which made a world of difference. That's already more personal medical information than I'd intended to give, but I've since had minor "sports injury" issues for which Dr Battula has quickly been able to recommend simple and practical exercises or treatments. Dr Battula is easy to interact with, and I highly recommend her for her competence and professionalism. I now see that if I'd started seeing her (or an equally skilled podiatrist) years earlier, I'd have saved myself considerable discomfort." I was very pleased when I learned that Dr Battula would now be practicing at Bay Area Foot and Ankle, and I've continue to benefit significantly from her treatment and advice.
