Dr Kim laid out a sensible and affordable plan for me to have healthy gums and reclaim my natural smile. He is genuinely kind and compassionate and cares about the relationship between your good oral health and your overall health. First, the office is immaculately clean and ultra-modern. The front desk folks especially Michael are very friendly and set a relaxing tone for what is usually a stressful visit. Of course nobody likes to sit in the dentist chair, it can be nerve wracking and filled with painful thoughts, but I felt none of the usual trepidation here. I had long overdue major work done and while I can't say I enjoyed it I knew it was necessary. The work was executed in as pain-free a manner as possible. Beginning with the digital X-rays which are immeasurably safer than traditional X-rays to wonderful dental hygienist Danielle who walked me step by step through the full mouth deep clean to the skillful hands of Dr Kim who performed an extraction, and a same day implant, I knew I was in good hands and had found my "for life" dental practice. if you have been holding off for one reason or another, I would urge you to visit Canton Modern Dentistry and see why I am so excited. I went in for a teeth cleaning in September, and much to my dismay 3 cavities were found. Apparently the 'new to me' charcoal toothpaste contained zero fluoride. After the cleaning 2-3 appointments were scheduled to take care of the cavities. To make things worse, I broke my front tooth a couple weeks before the first appointment to take care of the cavities. So I go in for the cavities, and now a busted front tooth. I left that appointment with all my cavities filled and my front tooth nicely repaired. It is good dental practice to let patients know beforehand what the cost will be. However, Haidi does not give you any information beforehand and will try to overcharge you. You will not know that you are overcharged until your insurance claims come back; then, she will refuse to refund you. My total for root canal and crown was about $2400. I chose to get the root canal done, but not the crown, as I have warranty with my dentist back home. However, I had already paid a portion for the crown (root canal was about $300 total since it was covered by insurance, crown was about $2100 since it was not, I had paid $782 so far total). I asked for a refund for the crown because I cancelled my appointments and did not want it done here anymore. Haidi refused the refund, saying the doctor has already looked at my tooth and I "spent time in his chair." Haidi is constantly arguing with customers and putting them down. She makes them feel stupid for not understanding the insurance fully and asking questions about what they have to pay. She does not explain the pricing well, even though detailing the pricing/coding is literally her job. She also tries to get you to open a credit card and put your entire bill, including FUTURE costs, on there. I believe it is because she wants your entire bill to effectively go through the credit card company, instead of Great Woods Family Dentistry, so you would have no way to get the money you paid back. She wants to avoid situations like mine where the service was not rendered, but the customer wants a refund. I would stay away at all costs. Although Dr. Mistikawi is friendly and wants the best for you, dealing with Haidi in any shape, way, or form will make you want to pull your hair out.
