Deeply Disappointed with My Experience and Results I was recommended by my neurologist for a breast reduction to help with ongoing spinal issues. Unfortunately, I chose Dr. Bishop and my experience with Dr. Bishop was extremely disappointing and frustrating. After my initial surgery, I had to undergo multiple in-office follow-up procedures because of complications. One of my breasts developed necrosis, and I came very close to losing the entire nipple area. I was required to come in weekly for wound checks, skin removals, and throughout that time, I felt very little compassion or genuine concern from Dr. Bishop. It took over 4 months for the necrosis to heal properly requiring multiple daily wound cleaning and changes. Additionally, the tape placement during surgery was placed on me crooked, wrinkled, and bulky, which resulted in large, jagged thick scars. The overall outcome was far from what I had hoped for or what I was led to expect. While I understand that every surgery carries risks, I do not feel that my case was handled with the care or attention it deserved. Dr. Bishop did a sloppy job. It would be - 100 stars if I could. As a breast cancer patient facing mastectomy and reconstruction I was very concerned about safety of breast implants. I asked many questions about their safety. And I was lied to by Dr Bishop lied to by the FDA. They made me very sick. My nerves are trash, I have Dysautonomia now, Many Breast Implant Illness problems. I have a lot of chronic pain and chronic lung disease. I had them removed after 8 years when I learned how TOXIC they are. Dr Bishop also failed to have me follow up with ruling out a genetic connective tissue disorder Elhers Danlos. When there were symptoms that this may be a problem. I should never have been told that Implants were safe for me. And yes I am officially diagnosed with hEDS. The few thousands he pocketed for this tragedy has cost me over 50,000 dollars and my health. read more

I had Dr. Jon Bishop perform a face lift and a Blepharoplasty on both the top and bottom eye lids on January 25, 2020. I had to have in-office post-surgery several times in an attempt to correct the mistakes made in the operation room during the initial face lift surgery. Bulges of skin remained under my chin, which Dr. Bishop had to redo. Additionally, my earlobes weren't even re-attached to my ears after his cutting around the ears during the original face lift surgery. This caused hemorrhaging after release from the hospital. Dr. Bishop performed a Blepharoplasty which was done at the same time left my eye lids drooping, watering and extremely sensitive to light and continues to be so. I lost my line of vision in both eyes. I cannot see properly and it is extremely painful still today. My eyes a will never go back to normal. Even now my eyes are painful, itch and water 24/7. My eyesight is very blurry. My eyes do not completely close at night which causes them to become very dry and when I wake up. Further, they water and drip because Dr. Bishop took off too much skin from my upper and lower eye lids in this surgery. I will have these painful and annoying symptoms the rest of my life. I suggest potential patients avoid the disaster that Dr. Bishop did to my face. I am a very unhappy patient and sincerely wish Dr. Bishop would have paid more attention to detail during my surgery so as to avoid my many physical issues I have even today. Do NOT trust the reviews.. they're INCENTIVIZED. His office will send you a "reward" for posting a "5 star" positive review (such as movie tickets, etc.). PLEASE PLEASE get a second opinion. I had cosmetic surgery with Dr. Bishop in December 2018 and I am now more self-conscious than I was prior to seeing him. My scars are thick and visible. My results are nowhere what they should be and since I've talked to 2 other BOARD CERTIFIED plastic surgeons who agree that I've been botched. Also, his surgical coordinator is one of the meanest, cold, and inconsiderate people I've ever met. If I could attach the voicemails she's left on my phone I think even Dr. Bishop would be upset with how she represents his office. Please don't have an experience like mine. There are so many other talented cosmetic surgeons who will actually give you the results you want and/ or need. If I can help one person with leaving this review that's enough. I had face lift surgery performed by Doctor Jon Bishop, Plastic Surgeon, Orem, Utah and had multiple problems. He is an incompetent plastic surgeon who, despite multiple redo visits, did not correct all my problems and left me with lifelong physical issues. I had Dr. Bishop perform a face lift and a Blepharoplasty on both the top and bottom eye lids on February 25, 2020. My face lift surgery was nothing short of a "chop job". After my face lift, I had to have multiple in-office post-surgery visits in an attempt to correct the mistakes made in the operation room during the initial face lift surgery. When I got home and looked closely at my ear lobes because of the hemorrhaging, I found my ear lobes were not attached to my face. They should have been sutured back to my face as part of the surgical procedure, but they were not. They had to be sutured in Dr. Bishop's office on a follow-up visit three days after my surgery. This over-site is a sign of incompetence on Dr. Bishop's part. Whoever heard of a surgeon not suturing a patient after surgery? Really? I suspect Dr. Bishop left surgery before finishing and handed off the suturing to an underling who was even more incompetent than Dr. Bishop, if that is even possible. At any rate there is no excuse for a patient to leave surgery with their ear lobes flapping in the breeze like Dumbo. My Blepharoplasty, which was done at the same time as the face lift was another "chop job". After the surgery, my eye lids were drooping, watering and extremely sensitive to light and continued to be so after supposedly adequate healing time. Because of this mishap surgery I lost my line of vision in both eyes. I cannot see properly, it is extremely painful, is a total nightmare still today, a year later. I went back twice to have Dr. Bishop "redo" my eyelids in his office, in an attempt to fix them but my eye lids remained a mess and will never go back to normal. Even now my eyes are painful, itch and water 24/7. My eyesight is very blurry. Currently, my eyes do not completely close at night which causes them to become very dry and when I wake up, they water and drip because Dr. Bishop took off too much skin from my upper and lower eye lids in this surgery. My eyes lids continue to have the same problems even though it has been over a year since the surgery. I was hoping that this condition would improve over time but it has not. I will have these painful and annoying symptoms the rest of my life. This is inexcusable. On a follow-up visit after the face lift surgery I expressed to Dr. Bishop my disappointment with my deep wrinkles around my eyes. His reply was that these deep wrinkles were not part of the face lift surgery and that is an additional surgery called an eye lift surgery. That was a surprise since this was not made clear to me in my pre-op meetings and discussions with Dr. Bishop. Dr. Bishop does not communicate well. He is very quick to promise grandiose results in the pre-op meetings. I suggest potential patients avoid the disaster that Dr. Bishop did to my face. Completely unacceptable and ugly results. I have deep indents, 2 dog ears the size of a Hershey's kiss, uneven scars (one goes under the breast while the other goes THRU the breast tissue), 4 bumps of varying sizes, diagonal creases! HE dismissed me as a patient when I complained 5 weeks after surgery & then blamed me that I had "unrealistic expectations!" He said the purpose of breast reduction was to eliminate my neck & shoulder pain but there was no expectation of any good cosmetic appearance afterwards. What the heck? I expected what HE promised--"2 small cute breasts." He refuses to see me, won't apologize, will not fix this, and I'm left completely maimed. I'm sorry to say this man is a dishonest crook. I usually don't post reviews and it's been several years since he destroyed my nose and sinuses, but I feel people need to be aware before getting any kind of nasal surgery from this monster. He and the front desk only care about money and they will go over and beyond to get money from you and your insurance company but they don't care much for you or any issues you may have post surgery. He disfigured my nose to where it was worse after the surgery than before when it had problems. I had a deviated septum and he just added more problems to it. The cartilage collapsed right away and a big piece of it was sticking out. My nose was crooked and I had severe breathing problems afterwards. To make it worse, he left a giant a splint bigger than a lipstick tube in my sinus cavity. He said he didn't see anything in there when I went for my follow up. A month later, I started having breathing problems and couldn't talk properly and finally went to an ENT who pulled out a giant splint. The ENT informed me that my nasal cavity was so infected that had it been in there any longer, the infection could've traveled to my brain. I also went to two other plastic surgeons and then another ENT who informed me that whoever did my nose did a terrible job since it was severely deviated and everything had collapsed. I still have breathing issues to this day since he touched my nose. Worst of all, he denied leaving the splint in there when there was physical proof from the ENT. This man should not even have a medical license. I just thought it was time to share my experience so others know what they're getting into. Not sure if he's better at other areas of the face or body but his nose job was terrible and a nightmare and he made me super uncomfortable. read more

I've seen Dr. Bishop 6 times. He has removed Giant Cell Tumors in my hand multiple times and a fatty lipoma under my arm. He has a great bed side manner. He helped clean up the first GCT surgery and you can barely tell I've had surgery so many times scarwise. read more

I should have shopped around more. AFTER trusting my body to Dr Bishop with all his promises, I have met people who'd also gone to him, and they've had similar bad results, are not satisfied, not impressed, and have nothing they can do about it. I now have lumps and bumps and areas on me with NEW issues I never considered. Yes, my appearance had improved, but when I went back to him to ask how to fix HIS work--which is total asymmetry, saggy skin (from his not removing enough), extensive nerve damage, atrophy, weird scar tissue and more, he gave me another quote for almost $9000! At an earlier appointment he had promised he could fix things in his office for the cost of sutures. I went back to discuss how and when and he then claimed it would be too much to do in office, and I'd have to have another whole surgery! He also claimed people often have to return for more after their initial work has been done. Um, he hadn't said that in the first place! He promised he could tighten things up, I'd have a cute body (not expecting 'supermodel,' but at least I'd hoped to be symmetrical) and be totally happy with my results.
