Jolster ski centre is set in the beautiful village of Vassenden, Forde. It is a small centre with only 2 lifts at present but is suitable for all levels of skiers. The beginners slope is a decent size for learning the ropes if you are totally new to ski-ing (watch out for the little 2 year olds though!) and an alpine slope with skilift , Theres also has a 10 m high ski jump, and a quarterpipe and other fancy jumps along the way down! Unfortunately my ski-ing skills didnt allow me to venture to such areas but I heard it is amazing!
You can hire ski equipment there and its really cheap. Ski hire was around £15 on weekdays and about £20 on weekends which didnt seem too much compared to prices of everything else in Norway!
It also looked like they were building huts around the area so it could be turned into a resort soon where you can stay which would be nice.
Vassenden itself is just the most lovely place too so after ski-ing watch the sunset over the mountains - it really is something! Theres not much else to do there! But the local town is not far where there is a decent club which is a nice place to meet the locals.
I will be going back next year to brush up on my ski-ing skills again! read more
