I am extremely thankful to Joseph at JRP Plastering and Stucco for all of the help that he provided…read moreus with our leak situation. During the huge rains we had in Oceanside we developed a leak in our second floor bathroom in the area below a window. Various companies I called were not interested in trying to figure out the source of the problem and just blamed the windows. When I called Joseph however it was a different story. He is extremely detail oriented and took the time to investigate the potential causes. He determined it was from cracked stucco near the window, but not the window itself. Which made perfect sense with the location and behavior of the leak. He meticulously started opening up the stucco to see the extent of the damage. He found the paper under the stucco had deteriorated pretty severely on that wall due to the extreme sun exposure over the years. He continued to open it up until he was comfortable that he had exposed all the issues. After replacing all the damaged areas, stuccoing the entire wall and repainting, you couldn't even tell the whole side had been opened up. He even took the time to examine all the windows above the area of the leak for any damage, and thoroughly cleaned them and even resealed them. We also had Joseph remove a statue from an alcove and re stucco the area. And again, his work was impeccable. Paint matching was perfect. He took pictures of everything as he worked, he explained all of the things he was doing and why he was doing them. His pricing was very fair and communication was very good. On a personal note, he was a pleasure to work with. I appreciate his attention to detail, and his quality work. But he was also just a kind and friendly person to talk with. He would even offer to pick up food or supplies for us if we needed anything when he was on his way or getting supplies. I highly recommend Joseph in all regards.

I asked for an updated quote 2 days ago to inckude that work and they did not provided it only offering excuses. I seems to me this company would rather nickle and dime you on stuff they excluded from the bid because they dont even come out to see the site, then use the "extra little" stuff to add cost to the project. Warning warning in my opion this person does not act like a professional.

The communication, professionalism, trustworthiness, efficiency, and the desire to go above and well beyond to provide exceptional service and customer satisfaction were obvious (and appreciated). They re-stucco'd our entire home and painted our facia and front and back doors We honestly cannot say enough good things, and the icing on the cake was the competitive price. Not only do we highly recommend him, but we plan to use him again for interior painting. I posted pictures but they do it no justice. In person the texture and color, especially compared to before they redid our home - absolutely gorgeous!

Updated June 6, 2026:…read more Jorge, I think your response says more about your communication style than my review ever did. At no point did I ask you to assist me to "sue" another contractor, nor did I imply anything remotely close to that. That assumption was completely unfounded and frankly unprofessional on your part. For the record, I was able to part ways with the previous contractor in an amicable, professional, and respectful manner. We even exchanged a few cordial text messages after executing our contract termination agreement. What I did ask for was transparency, professionalism, and clear communication regarding the scope of work and your observations during the inspection process. Instead of asking clarifying questions like a straight shooter would, you jumped to conclusions about my intentions to "sue" another contractor. I'm a fair and professional person, and I have no issue with a contractor deciding they are no longer interested in a project. That happens. But the professional thing to do is communicate that clearly and directly -- not disappear, ignore calls and messages, and leave a prospective client completely in the dark after promising a proposal the same evening. My review was based entirely on my actual experience: you inspected the site, committed to sending a proposal, and then went completely silent with no follow-up whatsoever. THIS IS NOT HOW PROFESSIONALS OPERATE! This a critique of your communication style, or the lack thereof, not your business conduct or competency. I just want to be very clear about that.

I had five different stucco companies come out to give me a bid for repair work around a window, and John was the only one who actually started from a place of curiosity, asking me questions about the issue. You can tell right away that he's a person of solid character who has also mastered his craft. He took the time to first understand my problem, and then he walked me through the solution with so much patience and clarity (never condescending, just genuinely helpful). Not only was his bid very competitive, but he even took the time to review a competitor's quote with me and pointed out exactly where I was being overcharged for work I didn't even need. He and his son, Garrison, are really solid people. Even though he's a stucco expert and not a leak detection specialist, he went well above and beyond by helping me troubleshoot with a water test to make sure we found the actual source of the leak. For the stucco work that was required, he handled the repairs beautifully. Just as importantly, John identified work that wasn't necessary. If you want someone good-natured, patient, and truly an expert who cares about the final result, call these guys.

Since I had recently had the house painted, I did not need them to color match, and had provided them with the brand and paint color. This increased the price by $30 but it wasn't a deal breaker. I wanted to ensure the stucco patch matched the house. The day before the job and morning of, I received a text confirming the job start time. Alvarado arrived on time and went straight to work. The job took about 5 hours, and he made sure the work area was clean. He did such a great job! I could not even tell where the vent was. The new stucco blended in so well with the original stucco of the house.

The area along where the slider was all the way to corner of the house was in bad shape as well. I contacted Al and he immediately called me back. We discussed what I wanted repaired and reviewed the pictures I sent him. We had a price set on the phone. We scheduled for a day the following week. Al showed up on time and got a sample of the stucco to get a paint match. Came back shortly and went to work removing the decaying stucco. Then applied the new stucco. Every area of new stucco was painted and it look really nice. Al worked very clean and left everything very tidy from his work area. I also had a couple interior doors that would not stay open. He adjusted them and now they are balanced and stay open. No more door stops. Al is very conscientious and has great work ethics. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again!
