I'm so upset, I have been watching reviews on social media about this place for over a year now about how good the food is and always wanted to try it but the closest one is 91 miles from me. I was able to get my niece to travel to one closer to her in Philadelphia to the Bustleton Avenue location (that have almost three star rating), my niece travel three hours to me with the food that I paid for the whole family to try for the first time, just to taste no seasoning, chicken tenders did not taste fresh, chicken sandwich was tasteless and the spaghetti was not good as well... everyone was disappointed.... Disappointing to make the journey from the other side of the river for a meal that just was a big no for me. I spent 16 years out west where no trip to Sacramento, CA was without a quick stop at Jollibee. After 7 years, I was delighted to learn one had opened up within a 45 minute drive, so I talked it up to my family and we loaded up and headed over. I was really looking forward to the palabok, a noodle dish that is a favorite of mine. I was crushed to see that it wasn't on their menu. Maybe I missed it? The girl at the counter said they didn't have any, but I wasn't sure if it was off the menu completely or just not available that day. I wasn't a fan of the adobo rice, personally. Chicken was good, definitely crispy and juicy, but I think I prefer a more Southern seasoning. Service was definitely lacking - they weren't very friendly or helpful. Chicken has been consistently tasty with crunchy skin. Tried the spicy chicken sandwich this time and my son devoured it in minutes before I could get a bite. He really enjoyed the sandwich. Clean place with ample seating. Staff was really friendly but place is really busy so have patience waiting for your food. They cook to order so you have to wait for the cooking. Most Filipinos love Jollibee and I'm one of them... ordered online for pick up and it was ready when I got there... service was quick and friendly and they were quite busy. Of course I ordered the fried chicken, burger steak, spaghetti and palabok. I know the spaghetti is not for everyone but it's a childhood dish and it reminds me of home. I had to try this location since it was the nearest Jolibee from King of Prussia. I love their peach mango pies so of course I ordered that & as always my pie was delicious. I seriously think that's the ONLY reason why I go to any Jolibee. I did order their spicy chicken with gravy & spaghetti. The chicken was actually spicy but good. For some reason the gravy had a different taste to it. I don't remember it having a weird after taste. I'm hoping I didn't get a bad batch and their spaghetti was nothing to rave about. Disappointed to say the least. After wanting to try Jollibee for years, we happened upon one on a trip to Philly, and it was the one disappointment of my whole trip. First, the service was not even slow; it was pretty much nonexistent. Incompetence can be somewhat anticipated in fast food, but this was excessive. I posted a pic of the two workers standing by the warmer and staring at each other. They seriously stayed in that position for a full 20 minutes because they were waiting on food for a big order for large family. No one could possibly be helped while these people were waiting, apparently. Finally we did get our meal, and it was mostly awful. The "famous" spaghetti is Chef Boyardee with cut up hot dog meat in it. Awful. Couldn't eat it. We dined in, and the mountainous pile of garbage that accumulated...well, you can see it for yourself! I can't say the whole restaurant was unclean because it wasn't bad, despite this disgusting display. There was also the pickup area which wasn't being utilized, despite someone waiting a good half hour to get his delivery order. I tried both the spicy and non spicy and the spicy was a bit better but it wasn't actually that spicy. The gravy was really good and that made the difference. Jolly spaghetti - the famous spaghetti with ham and hot dog in a sweet sauce was interesting. For a fast food spaghetti, it's not bad, there's a chew to it but I probably would not order it again Palabok fiesta - I liked this more than the spaghetti. I love the seafood and rice noodle combo and it had more depth of flavor. Maybe I'm biased because I prefer rice noodles and like seafood more than meat Peach mango pie - literally the BEST item on the menu. I love how crispy the exterior was, super super crunchy. I also liked that the filling was not super sweet. One of the best pies I've ever had. I would go back just for this! *VERDICT* I would go back just for the pie. My first experience with Jollibee was last year in Liverpool. I loved it there. Finally I get to try it in Philly. Service for me was just fine. No issues. I know others have had issues but I didn't. I do love the chicken itself. It's extraordinarily crispy and well marinated. It's definitely worth driving for. I tried the pancit. The chicken was tasty and fresh .... One of the ppl in our group got a chicken sandwich and the bun was stale. The fries were cold and unsalted. The grey was lukewarm. The soda machine was out of everything but Pepsi or Diet Pepsi ... when I asked the cashier for something non-carbonated - she offered a very sweet pineapple drink as the only alternative and the cup was much smaller. The staff was rude and unfriendly... borderline unprofessional... we had a to go order (after we had our meal) and the cashier was annoyed. She told us it would take at least 15 minutes. When I said "no problem" she said "oh okay - I guess you want to place an order than" ... it took 25 minutes for the order. Dare I say... I don't get the hype at all. We waited until recently to go try it out due to all the reviews about long lines etc. When we arrived, the drive-through was around the corner, but there were only a few people in line so we went inside. Unfortunately that was deceiving, as it still took 26 minutes to get our food from the moment we placed our order... so much for "fast food". I will say that the service was friendlier than most fast food spots, but overall insanely slow. The fried chicken was.. OK? Like no better no worse than Popeyes, I just don't get the hype I guess. It is crazy that I waited for Jollibee to open since their announcement back in 2020. I was super excited when their FB page announced their grand opening on September 2, 2022 in Philly. I already know I wasn't gonna make the first 50, I'm not a morning person lol. But what I didn't know was that arriving at 11:20am, I didn't get out of Jollibee until 3:40pm like O M G! That wait was INSANE! While waiting, there were signs all around this establishment limiting folks on buying more than $70 worth of food??? If a 6pc chicken bucket(not combo) cost $14.99, if a family is feeding 5 mouths, they really think $70 is enough? Probably is enough at McDonald's or Popeyes' etc...... Luckily I have my hub with me so I split our orders in two. I want a little of everything so I can see what the hype is about. We order Bucket Treat B, Bucket Treat C, Original Chicken Sandwich, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, Peach Mango Pie and Pineapple Quenchers. Pineapple Quenchers are the highlight of our order, very delicious! Everything else is MEH! We thought the chicken sandwiches were mediocre. Jolly Spaghetti meh. Palabok Fiesta were ok but the ratio between the noodles and the sauce were like 4:1, there isn't enough sauce for the family pack. Spicy Chicken Joy Bucket is pretty ok, enough spice. That Gravy that comes with the chicken is tasteless, Popeye's is way better. Last but not least, I rather have McDonald's Apple Pie than Jollibee's Peach Mango Pie lol. Lesson learned, don't believe the hype! If I want pies, I better go to Mc'D's. If I crave for chicken, Popeye's here i come. Don't sleep on this place, food is legit. I've been hyped to try Jolibee since I heard one was opening near me. I happened upon this location while traveling for work so I gave it a try. Seems like a lot of the lower star reviews are based on technical issues w/ online ordering or other service nonsense issues. The food is legit. I really liked that they told me right upfront that tenders were cooked to order so it would be a bit of a wait. I'm always happy to have a short wait for good food. These tendies were fantastic, super crunchy without being over breaded. The pineapple bbq sauce was nice for a change of pace. Fries were fine, nothing great but nothing horrible. My review is primarily based on the staff and their sheer lack of manners/common sense. We were traveling from Delaware to visit some relatives in NE Philly. We decided to pick up some lunch prior to heading over. We had passed by this Jollibee several times but never had the opportunity to try it. We placed an online order with an estimated pickup time of 1130am. We happened to arrive about 5 mins early and we noticed there were two designated "Drive Thru Pick Up Order" parking spots. Since we didn't want go thru the drive thru only to find out order not ready yet, we decided to park in one of these two spots. Within 2 minutes, a worker comes out and tells us that these two spots are reserved for pickup orders. I told her that I am picking up, but I'm a couple minutes early. She proceeds to tell me to move my car over to one of the normal spots, even though the whole parking lot was empty. I respond by pointing out the empty parking lot. I then proceed to go inside and pickup my order to "comply" with her stipulation that the spot is reserved for picking up orders. Another worker grabs my food and I ask "Am I all set." She literally hands me the bag of food and walks away. I don't know what I did to piss these workers off so bad, but I definitely won't be coming back. The chicken was okay, but Popeyes definitely still reigns supreme for fried chicken in my opinion. The burger steaks were absolutely disgusting. So, I'm starting this review as I continue to wait for my online order. That I placed at 4:52 pm. The app said I'd receive the order at 5:01pm. So, how am I able to draft a review when I have yet to procure my order...apparently Jollibee convinced me that if I didn't have time, they'd make me take some. LOL. It's now 5:40 pm. When I entered I noticed a line, but nothing crazy. (See photo below). But I wasn't worried because I'd placed an online order and didn't think I'd need to eff with any lines etc. Oh but no. Here's the bottom line. I fully expect the chicken - whenever I procure it - to be good. I've never been to this location but i really enjoy the one I have visited in the past in Edison, NJ. Oh, did I mention that I left my home in Willingboro NJ to come to NE Philadelphia for this? I've heard the cashier state alternative estimates as to the "wait for chicken" from 10-15 minutes up to 20-25 minutes. And if that's the case, why not update the app to allow for that? This is crazy! Chicken is in your name. WTF. I just asked for an update. "We are just waiting for chicken." . The chicken is undercooked and raw, the bread is stale, they rarely have all the items on menu, fries are soggy and disappointing. The chicken sandwich is definitely a step up above Popeyes and I LOVE Popeyes chicken sandwiches. The coating here is delightfully crunchy, the sauce is great, and there are slices of jalapeño peppers inside! Definitely worth the slight price difference over Popeyes. The pie I picked was coconut. Apologies! Somehow the Jollibee in Philadelphia came up when I wanted to write this review about the one in Edison, New Jersey. No doubt my bad, but don't want to lose the work. Until I can move it to the right place, this will have to do. -------- This was my first visit to any Jollibee restaurant, and I was fortunate to find one close by the conference I was attending nearby in Edison, NJ. Word on Yelp in these parts offered mixed reviews, with general appreciation for the Philippine fast cuisine, but dissatisfaction with the wait involved between ordering and drive away. This outlet on northbound Route 1, did not suffer from any delay when I was there around 4:00 on a Tuesday afternoon. In fact, I was the only one at the order board when my requests were taken, and the second in line at the pick up window. I was done in no more than 10 minutes with my order of Spicy Chicken Sandwich, Mashed Potatoes and Pineapple Quench. True, my first desire of chicken fingers was not available, but I suspected that the sandwich used similar white meal chicken to the bare naked digits, and I was probably right. The sandwich was very good. The breast thicker than expected, and the bun more wholesome. The weight of the bag handed me was surprisingly heavy, always a reason for optimism. Both ends stuck out beyond the circumference of the roll, and first bite demonstrated fresh bird with excellent cohesive breading and adequate spice. No skimping here. And, as I was hungry and eating as I drove, I totally appreciated that the opus hung together and did not leave breading crumbs on my lap. The Pineapple Quench was a pleasant alternative to cola products. Not as sweet as fresh pineapple, nor as syrupy as canned, it had a mild sugar profile with plenty of flavor. It def passed the credibility test for worthy fruity washdown. The Mashed had to wait until the next day to avoid the brown gravy challenging the neatness of the car, but came to life after 3 minutes in the microwave. Decent. Service was obviously limited to ordering and pickup, but it was comparable to the other fasties around. Voices were friendly and handover was with a smile. This Jollibee experience was good enough to warrant another visit for the more adventurous aspects of the menu involving spaghetti (fast food spaghetti?), rice dishes, and maybe even their Jolly Burger. I patiently waited a few months before visiting, hoping to give this new location enough time to work out its kinks. Spicy fried chicken came out pipping hot, sumptuous and enjoyable. Eating side by side with Adobo Rice is equally great. Food is prepared fresh, hence the longer wait. Kudos to the young gentleman who was the cashier today (mid-afternoon) and the shift manager. Both ran the store very well even with the delay handing out orders.
