The whole time they were yammering in their native language and we are white. Honestly who doesn't know how to do a fade. I think they made him look dumb on purpose. Then overcharged him. 27 dollars for ten minutes work is like over 150 bucks an hour. Why wouldn't you be polite for a returning customer. We will never never never go back there and don't go there if your not Asian or understand whatever it is they speak or if you do I would love to know what they were saying. "Let's make this white boy look stupid hahahahaha" I mean in this day and age when you are business owner and serve all people, speak English you are in America act like it! It is a privilege to be not a right!

Okay, this is a big deal to give five stars to a salon because I have *never* left one thinking it…read morewould be my forever-hair-home. My hair is fairly manageable and I've never considered myself a hair person, until now. I realize the reason I never cared was because nobody ever gave me the look or experience I was after. I have dark blonde hair but looove to go light without it looking tacky or unnatural or brassy. I need it to be a style I can wear up or down and I especially need it to be flexible with time between visits. Caroline gave me THE BEST balayage with blonde baby lites around my face and enough dark root bits to make it look perfectly natural as it grows out. I've never rebooked appointments at the end of appointments, but now I always do. I'm hooked. The space is straight out of Pinterest, with voluptuous plants everywhere and decor that makes you want to go home to redecorate. The vibe is very inclusive and high end. It's hard to find high end, high quality spaces that feel okay for people who aren't rolling in dough, but this is it! The prices are high for good reason. If you don't want to spend the money and you're okay with average hair or even errors, any other salon in town can help you. But if you want what you pay for, this. is. your. jam. I've also heard and seen that Caroline, the owner, is great to work for/with. Her employees are more independent contractor style which means they have the freedom to create their schedules, name their prices, and care for hair the way they do best. It adds a fun, diverse component and it makes it possible for all hair types to get terrific results. Pus, you can definitely 'feel' when there's tension or power struggles in salons and that doesn't exist here. It truly is a breath of fresh air. 12/10 would recommend if you want to find your forever-hair-home too!

I've had my hair totally messed up by other local salons, have had not the best experiences waiting in line at barber shops, and had resorted to wearing hats and trying my best to maintain my hair myself. All that changed when a friend of mine recommended Maggie @ Atlas to me. Maggie is Deva certified so you can trust that she knows what she's doing with your curls. Honestly, my cut with Maggie was the best and least stressful hair-experience of my life. I've never been able to relax into a cut because I've never trusted someone with my head. Maggie knows exactly what she's doing and I felt confident in letting her be creative. She's also very skilled with clippers! More so than any barber I've been to. I'm SO happy with my cut and will absolutely be back. The studio space is cozy and incredibly cute and inclusive. It's located off the Winooski circle, right behind Scout. The easiest walk from my house. Based on my own experience, the space is queer and trans friendly. Would highly recommend this place to anyone but especially to folks of color and also queer and trans folks who are looking for an inclusive space and creative stylists.

I read so many Yelp reviews of different spas before I decided to come here and I'm so glad I did…read more I called about getting two pedis (one for me and one for my s.o.) and as this is the season for them, they naturally couldn't get us in same evening, but they could the next evening and had a great suggestion: I'd go first and as my nails were drying, he'd go. It ends up the time wouldn't work for him, so I made an appointment for lunch time today. Please note that the sign is a little hard to see, so look for the florist/baseball card place and it's in same building. There's ample parking in the back as well as some street parking in front. I was greeted immediately when I walked in. The ladies were so nice and Christine ended up being my pedicurist. I chose the vegan deluxe spa pedicure, jasmine scented. For $37, I got a good 30+ minutes of wonderful hands on relaxation. Mind you, I haven't had a pedi in almost a year (yeah, I know-nothing like the hack job we do cutting our own toenails) and so my feet had been through ski season and now during hiking season. So they were in dire need of some TLC. The jasmine scent was really fragrant and nice. It comes with the expected toe nail cutting and shaping, sugar scrub, foot and heel exfoliation, then a calf and foot massage, then a hot stone massage, then deluxe moisturizing and of course, pretty colored toes! I always try to heel walk carefully to the drying area, but the foam tow separators always move on me (I need a tiny pair) and so she had to fix two toes that got a little smudged. By the time I left 45 minutes later, I was so relaxed my feet felt like they were floating on air. I try to get a pedi at least a couple times a season, so now I know where to go every time.
