Despite all the good reviews I've read about Joli, I was slightly disappointed by my experience. One article I recently read about it highlighted the proprietor's desire to provide a high level of customer service. Well I don't know if the sales assistant was having an off day, but I wasn't greeted, spoken to, or even smiled at, and I did feel slightly let down. There were only two other women in the shop at the time, so it wasn't as though I was asking a too much of her.
Anyways, on a more positive note, the clothing is pretty stunning...the colours are gorgeous, and the prices are perhaps not as high as you might think. I didn't spot anything I particularly needed, but I did see a few key pieces for A/W 10...cute cardies, printed skirts, chunky knits and streamline dresses. The garments truly live up to their name, with 'Joli' meaning pretty in French.
The entire upstairs was dedicated to sale stock, with up to 70% off summer wear. Kids clothing, menswear and womenswear are all incredibly discounted. Again, nothing particularly caught my eye, but it's definitely worth a look nonetheless.
I can only hope that if I was to pay Joli a visit again, I would be greeted with a slightly better level of customer service. However, those clothes really are beaut, and if you're into your eclectic fashion, you'll find Joli pretty hard to beat, especially around these parts... read more
