The store itself has a lot of eye-catching cosmetics in it. It's basically a mini version of Sephora. They've got cosmetics, bath products and little trinkets galore. The brow studio is located right through the store. Jane was the brow expert working on both myself and my Mom. She is most definitely an expert when it comes to brows. She knows her business like no one else. The only thing I found a little irritating was that she kept saying to me "I don't know where you got the idea that thin brows are in. You need to start watching television and looking through magazines". Considering I am a television producer, I found that condescending. She said it a number of times too, once would have most definitely been enough. She also went on to assume that I don't work yet because she said "Once you start working, you'll definitely want to start filling in your eye brows for a more polished look". Yikes...we're definitely not off to a good start. Overall, I can't argue the fact that the experts at The Brow Studio are true gurus of 'eyebrow art'. If you'd like to know if I'd go back however, outlook not so good. The assumptions, the ignorance and the demeaning comments put me off for good.

I was surprised when I found this place. Thinking about its location and exterior, I would imagine it to be a somewhat low-quality salon. But, thinking like that, I would be wrong. This place is actually quite eye-catching on the inside and very welcoming. They have a clean environment to work in, which provides me with comfort. The staff are definitely among the nicest stylists I've met. They can tolerate children in their chairs, which is more than I can say for other places. They have a way of talking to anyone and making them feel very welcome and at home. Since it is classified as a 'family' salon, the prices are actually cheaper than other places. I don't feel like I'm blowing my whole paycheque on a hairdo, which is definitely a nice thing. Riverpark Beauty, here I come!

My microblading experience with Amy of Joielene Artistry was wonderful! Being a 60+ year old, I had never had any tattoos, so I had no idea what to expect. Amy was professional, explained everything thoroughly before the procedure, and answered any questions I had. She was reassuring and kind. One of my concerns was that I may not get what I want, but instead get what the technician thinks I should get! I needn't have worried. As she began to design my brows, Amy continued to ask me if this was EXACTLY what I wanted. She readily made any adjustments I wished. The entire procedure was amazingly pain free! I was waiting for Amy to begin and she told me she was already halfway through my first brow! I had no redness or swelling after the procedure. Amy followed up with me several days later to make sure everything was healing well. I would highly recommend Amy and Joielene Artistry if you are considering any makeup artistry. You won't be disappointed! read more

My experience of microblading with Amy was amazing! I discussed it with her at length before starting the procedure and she made me feel very comfortable by explaining the whole process and wouldn't begin without making sure that I was completely comfortable with the look. She is very friendly and easy to talk to and provided me with very clear after care instructions, which I followed. At my touch up appointment 7 weeks later, we only made some minor adjustments. I am so happy with my brows, they are perfect! I would highly recommend her to anyone who is considering having microblading done. read more

Amy touched up my brows twice now (my original set was from a different artist) & she is very patient & takes her time. She makes sure that you're comfortable throughout the entire procedure & doesn't let me leave unless im completely satisfied with every tattoo stroke. Amy is amazing at her work & will continue to tattoo my eyebrows forever! read more

Lyana did my bridal hairstyle…read more During my trial, Lyana took a couple photos I had picked in bridal magazines and had done a pretty great job of reproducing them.and I was quite happy. On the actual day however, she really impressed. She felt inspired by my tear drop brooch bouquet and asked if she could try something a bit more elaborate because the original style was too plain for my dress and bouquet. What I got was something I wouldn't have even known I could ask for as it was just so detailed and elaborate. I totally loved it. By the end of the night I had a couple loose ends and a bit of fizzing in heat and humidity but it held up well. I was so tired by the end of the day I ended up sleeping in my hair it was comfortable enough (I've had updos that gave me a headache they hurt so badly). I'm posting photos of mine and my maid of honor's hair. Mine was $100 and hers was a bit less. I know there is cheaper hair out there but I say it was well worth it for the mobile service in the comfort of my mom's home. Over all I would totally recommend giving Lyana consideration for a wedding, grad or other important hair style requiring occasion.

Originally the bride was going to have her make-up done by MAC and hair done by a friend but at the last minute she chose to have Lyana do her make-up instead. We chose Lyana based on her experience expressed through the wonderful portfolio pictures on her facebook page. I could tell right away that she was very good at what she does. We communicated solely over emails up until the wedding. Lyana was very easy to reach, she was always quick to respond to our emails, was able to answer all of our questions and was very accommodating to our needs. We even threw a few last minute changes her way (like location and having the bride's make-up done) and it was never a problem. She accommodated everything we asked. On the morning of the wedding, Lyana and her assistant arrived promptly as scheduled (always important for a wedding day). In no time at all they transformed us into the most beautiful expressions of ourselves. The quality of make-up she uses combined with her application techniques, gave us stunningly BEAUTIFUL looks that lasted all day and all night! Her hair designs were not only beautiful but creative and unique, like little works of art, that also held up throughout the day and evening without any problems. Not even so much as a loose pin. She seriously did such a good job, I would recommend her 100% of the time to anyone looking for a hair and/or make-up professional.
