The teachers are incredibly loving and thoughtful. I especially love the fact that they celebrate birthdays and holidays and create opportunities for parents to get to know each other, too. My child has grown by leaps and bounds, and his interactions with the other children are fun to see. The fact that meals are provided (bfast, lunch and snacks) is a godsend. Several daycares/preschools in the region claim to be Spanish immersion but aren't actually (e.g., they speak English to the kiddos). At Lulus, I feel like we get a truly authentic Spanish immersion program for our son, knowing instruction is exclusively in Spanish. And it shows. My son 100% understands Spanish when it is spoken to him and he mixes Spanish and English in his vocabulary regularly. The teachers are great and the school goes above and beyond with programs like the spring recital (where the kids performed songs in English, Spanish, and German) as well as Muffins for Mom and Donuts for Dad. The director Ms. Rachelle is an absolute God send. We are a military family, and my husband is constantly on deployment, she tries to accommodate my schedule and be helpful as much as she can. One of my sons was diagnosed with Autism and part of reason I knew to get him tested was because of a recommendation from Ms. Rachelle after she noticed some autistic behavior and we discussed what I observed at home as well. She has no problem tailoring the learning environment to make sure every child's needs are being met, for example, one of my sons needed to be challenged more academically and not only did she provide that challenge for him at school but she also provided him resources to take home as well. She goes above and beyond for the children at the daycare and makes sure EVERYONE feels included. I could go on and on about the wonderful staff at Rising Star Preschool. I was thrilled to find a forest school like the ones I'd read about in Japan and around Europe…read moreright in South Park. When I scheduled a tour and saw the wild play space with a mud kitchen and rope swing, it felt like walking through a childhood dream. That was over 3 years ago, and since then both of my kids have attended Lilac Sea. Now they point out nasturtium, stinging nettle, and wild cucumber on neighborhood walks and teach us little blessings with hand motions at mealtime. They love taking friends and visitors on "insider" tours of the canyon where they play. I'm grateful to give my kids a childhood anchored in nature at a time when kids are spending more time than ever isolated indoors.
