I love Johnson Development communities, particularly Harvest Green. I think they are pretty creative when it comes to amenities (I mean I think a farm on site is pretty awesome). When I toured some of their other communities, I saw that the pools, fitness centers and parks were well-maintained. I've been to some of their events as well. Cross Creek Ranch has that wonderful Scarecrow Festival and Woodforest has a lot of fun holiday activities. They seem to have a diverse group of builders and the neighborhoods are planned really well - lots of parks and nature trails. All in all I think they do a great job. read more

Johnson Development's Lake Arrowhead Project in Georgia. They basically highlight the lake as the centerpiece of their development project and say is has "crystal clear water". But these pictures show the silt runoff from the clear cutting they do at their development sites. This silt runoff goes into our mountain streams then eventually end up in our lake. If Johnson Development really cared about the water quality of the lake they would not be doing this kind of damage to the lake. At a minimum, they would offer to dredge the coves where their development projects dump silt into the lake. Crystal Clear Water......not for long with Johnson Development building! read more

Building out in hockley , they can't even get the road correct who approved the plans to make the road on Betka rd like that? There is no way Harris county approved the permits ,accidents waiting to happen... definitely need the Texas department of transportation to come out and verify that it's legal to have the road like that. read more

Grand Central Park in Conroe, Texas. Worst HOA I've ever had. Lie about flood plains all the time. A few of their newer communities in my area flooded really bad and Johnson decided to stop developing in those areas. Left the neighborhoods half developed. Lie about what they are bringing into the community. For example they tell you they are putting in a movie theatre. Instead, they put in a large ugly apartment complex at the entrance of the neighborhood. Second example, they agreed to put a dangerous patient psych ward literally in homeowners back yards. read more

Poor HOA oversight by the Directors at Veranda...no responses from them when wanting to discuss an issue with their management company. Finally, June T. returned my call but refused to meet with me (never met her before, but she acted like I was an abusive ex). She indicated I could try to speak with her boss, Trey, but good luck since he never responds to her either. To me, that speaks volumes about the character of employees this company has. After speaking to her, I emailed the information....crickets. She did state that she always responds to emails acknowledging she received them. I guess that is false as well. Beware of this developer and the communities they oversee. Update on March 24, 2022 - if you doubt the condition of this community, I took pictures today...a used pregnancy test, broken hanger, and lime green sport bra pad laying in the street (and there are young children living here). Rethink spending any money to live here, I certainly regret it. read more

Wow, Trinity Falls in McKinney, TX is gorgeous! Johnson Development Corp. has done a great job of preserving the natural surroundings, and we were impressed with the quality of homebuilders in the community. I love the fact that there is a huge 350 acre park and tons of green space. read more

They don't respond when you live in one of their expensive communities when you have a concern or complaint. They only care about getting your money. read more

I agree with the other posters. JD built our neighborhood(sanderling in wood forest) on a 100 year flood plane. Then somehow it changed to a 500 year plane. Go figure. Our entire neighborhood flooded. JD did not even reach out to us to say sorry or how can they help. Now all of our builders have pulled out because they see the potential risks and we are left with a half developed neighborhood and no value in our homes. Thanks JD for making our dream home a nightmare. read more

JDC is a wonderful development that produces the most beautiful communities.

As a long time resident of Fort Bend County, I have seen the landscape change dramatically with development, bringing lots of businesses and residences. Without these developers, we would have less choices on where to shop or to live. I believe the developers do the best that they can to provide safe living environments, but this last tropical storm Harvey was just unprecedented. I truly sympathize with the flooded folks, and also have friends who were flooded in Meyerland and Briar Forest. It's truly unfair and terrible, but I am not sure you can blame the developers for acts of God. Riverstone is a top-notch community in a great location and very pretty, and many people appreciate the care and detail taken to develop this community. It is truly sad that some residents flooded, but again, with Harvey, it was certainly hard to predict that anything of this magnitude and staying power would create such flooding in our area. read more
