The cashiers are especially good, as they are always happy and cheerful, something nice to see in retail. They have a large fresh food department, right across to hygiene products, snacks, meat and dairy, pet food and toys, frozen food, health food, and a big cheese section, as well as handmade cakes and fresh food created daily. They also have a chinese and a japanese 'restaurant'. There is also a kitchen gift store upstairs. Overall, a very friendly and helpful grocery store, if you're willing to pay the slightly higher prices for products.

It is hopping on a Monday evening. Let me first say the service was excellent. All the staff were friendly and prompt. We started with some appetizers the calamari and the mussels. Both was delicious. It is rare to find calamari that isn't over cooked and this was cooked perfectly to tender, lightly breaded and served with a fabulous taziki sauce. The mussels served with toast points in a lemon wine sauce was excellent. I order the seafood linguini that had sockeye, clams, mussels, white fish and prawns in a lemon cream sauce that was all excellent. A huge portion that I took half home. My husband had the pork schnitzel special and upgraded to the risotto for his side instead of mashed potatoes. He also added a ceasar salad for us to share. It was wonderful!! We also tried the red and white sangria and wow it was awesome! It comes by the glass or 1/2 L or whole L. It was delicious! This restaurant came highly recommended by another boating friend and we will definitely go back! For everything our dinner was less than $150 US including a generous tip for the excellent service!

Not a huge shop but a great selection - fresh meats - couldn't resist grabbing a small ribeye and same kolbassa as well as some frozen sausages - note that frozen sausages are marked down 30% from the fresh variety! Was also pleased to see farm fresh eggs for u der $4 a dozen and there was a great selection of tracheas and ears etc for our furry kids! Can't wait to go back - I agree it's a little pricey but it's I love supporting local family run businesses that I know give great quality! Ps the young lady working at the shop looked like she was freezing but was very helpful and always smiling!

The Most Charming Breakfast Place in Courtenay…read more I believe whoever was in charge of this location's look and feel was at least partially inspired by Hobbit architecture. It was delightful dining here and the food was pretty good too! My wife ordered the Two Poached Eggs with Whole Wheat Toast & Jelly breakfast, while I created my own sandwich (Montreal Smoked Meat on an Onion Roll with lettuce, tomato, and avocado). I also got a cup of their soup of the day (Cream of Butternut Squash). Everything was delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. And we got to experience what eating breakfast for Frodo & Bilbo Baggins must've been like. Highly recommend if you're in Courtenay and want to get away from the typical run-of-the-mill diner or cafe experience for breakfast.
