The tone of the conversation changed when I was met with a condescending and scolding attitude from their employee for not calling sooner. I called to confirm they were open and able to receive the package. This was a legitimate question. I didn't have to call in advance last time they received a ffl item for me. When I explained that, they told me they will refuse the delivery now and to have the item shipped somewhere else. Refusing to accept a customer's already-shipped transfer item out of spite because they didn't like how the conversation ended is not professionalism, it's retaliation. Exercising this option reflects poorly on how they handle conflict and customer relationships.

At this point the same gray-haired gentleman gave me a completely different price that was almost double the amount that he quoted and refused to honor the quote. He also had offered me a 15% discount because I had bought an engagement ring there, that number miraculously went down to 10%. I was not crazy about the way he applied high-pressure tactics to my fiancé and constantly tried to get us to look at rings that were out of the price range that we had mentioned on our first visit to the store. But when I came back and he tried to alter the price that he quoted I decided that this was not a place to do business with. Very shady.

Working us as a team, 2 acted as best supporting actresses, while the two main sales ladies took the lead. It's an immaculate store, with gleaming jewelry, spotless glass, clean carpeting. The ladies didn't offer any industry-specific knowledge, but since I'm a (GIA) certified Diamontologist, I didn't need any help or explanations. They were hospitable, offering us coffee, tea, or water, and bowls full of miniature chocolate bars, as well as some fine Swiss chocolates. They have a large, beautiful selection of estate jewelry, as well as new, unique pieces. One of the things I judge a jeweler by are their pearls. Theirs are gorgeous and luminous, and rival Seita's. We also noticed a large selection of men's jewelry, from chains, to cuff links, to watches.

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. This jeweler is the definition of unethical. Here's what…read morehappened: I placed an online order for a gold ring. The item went through an authentication process, and guess what? The authenticator rejected it because the ring was underweight compared to what I ordered. That right there shows deception -- I wasn't getting what I paid for. Instead of making things right, this shady seller pulled the worst move possible: * As soon as they got the ring back, they cancelled my order without my consent. * Then, they had the audacity to relist the exact same ring at a HIGHER price! This is a classic bait-and-switch scam -- lure customers in with a price, sell them an item that doesn't meet the specs, and when caught, jack up the price to squeeze even more money. Anyone considering doing business with this jeweler should know: they lie, they cheat, and they exploit their customers. A jeweler who sells underweight gold and cancels orders to relist items at inflated prices is not just "bad business" -- it's fraud. Do yourself a favor and shop literally anywhere else. There are plenty of honest jewelers out there who will respect you, your money, and their own reputation. This one? They've shown their true colors -- and it's not gold.

My buddy alway bragged about Yuriy's so I thought it would be worth the walk. I told him what I had been looking at and he told me he could deliver it, and cheaper than the shops at the Clark building. He didn't even know what I was previously quoted and he delivered a beautiful ring for less than what other jewelers were asking. Next, I wanted a unique gift for my wife. I went in with an extremely vague request: Skulls and black diamonds. Within a few minutes he had an idea and a few days later, he sent me a stunning rendering of the ring and I loved it. Within a couple weeks she had the most unique ring I've seen and went above and beyond the render. Yuriy has gained my loyalty with his honesty, creativity, and dependability.

I told him I would be back in about an hour as I had other errands to do in the neighborhood. He made sure to tell me they close shop at 3:30 pm. I was pleased to return to the watch ready with the correct date and time updated. He charged me $7.99 which I feel is a fair price. I will return for battery replacements in the future.

They don't do battery replacements while you wait, so be aware, as I was a little caught off guard by that. I guess the mall kiosks have skewed my expectations a bit. The gentleman behind the counter said he could have it done in an hour. I returned promptly on the hour, and he apologized for not having gotten to it yet, and proceeded to replace the batteries on the spot, within a few minutes. The price was very reasonable at $4.99 per watch. Overall, I'd come back here to have batteries replaced. The guys were friendly and while the service wasn't on-the-spot, if you work downtown, just plan ahead, drop it off in the morning, and come back on your lunch break. They also had a small collection of estate jewelry, including a lot of really interesting vintage, luxury timepieces. My two recommendations to the owners: 1. If you have customers leave watches with you, even for a short period of time, give them a claim check. It just makes me feel better to have some form of receipt, and if you do a quick scan of the item for damage, it can protect you in case someone claims you scratched or broke something. 2. When surrounded by other jewelry stores offering instant watch battery replacement, you should probably do the same to compete. A dollar less doesn't really make up for the inconvenience of having to return....unless my visit was just a fluke.
