This is the only place I buy my sneakers. Steve is always friendly and helpful. He recommends the right sneakers every time. There is free parking outside. He does accept credit cards but prefers checks.

My family has been going to John's Sneaks since I can remember. I still don't know how my dad came across this place, probably one of his work buddies, but I am forever grateful. This place has been our go to for our regular run around sneakers, my basketball sneakers, my siblings' tennis sneakers, and all other athletic needs. They sell the same quality sneaks you would find in the stores, but at discounted factory prices. 50-70% I was training for a half marathon and knew I was going to need some sneakers. I didn't even need to think twice about going to John's. Got fitted for my Asics GT-2160 which retail around $140. Got them for ~$65. Over my training period, I went through 3 pairs of sneakers. I would have never been able to have afford them if I had gone to a regular store. I also would not have gotten the right fit (was fitted for a 4E), where when I went to many different running oriented stores, they didn't even talk to me about my arch and how that would affect what sneaker I should get. I seriously would not have been able to finish my half marathon or keep up with my pacing partner without the sneakers I had on, which were the most important thing I had on the day of the race. As long as they are in business, I won't go anywhere else for my running sneaker needs. FYI: They accept credit cards but no checks from Philadelphia or out of state. Seriously have a great selection of sneakers at discount price.

These are the ones she didn't want to take off.

Knowledgeable worker and terrific prices. If they carry the brand you want, you are unlikely to find lower price elsewhere.

Great sneakers, excellent selections and Steve is terrific. Seriously, why would you ever buy sneakers anywhere else?!?!

I've been a Saucony Omni girl since Steve first recommended a pair - they're the best shoe for my feet.

Bryn Mawr Hospital Thrift certainly fits the bill. The first floor of the store is all household goods and furniture. We marveled at the very low cost of the china cabinets, and my daughter lamented that the store isn't located in Chicago where she is trying to furnish an apartment. The second floor is all clothing. Even though they have labels for children and men's clothing, about 80% is for women. The clothing is quite well-organized by size and type, so it's easy to home in on specific styles. The clothes are clean - the shirts that I purchased seemed to have been professionally laundered and pressed. There were some high-end designer labels in the mix, but they weren't priced any differently from other clothes in the same category. I came away with two dress shirts and two ties for $11; in all we spent just $23 for a fair number of very nice items. Staff here isn't terribly friendly but not rude either. All in all this is an excellent store with lots of choices and outstanding prices.

She was really so kind and let me know I could leave it there and go shop. They were running 50% off of colored tags the day I went. I didn't find any in the tag colors, but I did find 2 pairs of flats for $19, which isn't bad at all. They also had a fill a bag sale outside with 50 cent items. The clothing upstairs was abundant and ranged in sizes. I also saw some Anthropologie brands, some designer, and some higher end clothing for fairly decent prices. Anthro clothing for $10 is pretty good. Hopefully the next time I won't be all sweaty and carrying a baby and linger longer. There is a little lot in the front, but I found parking behind the business was easy enough and cheap (50 cents covered it).
