I made the mistake of hiring on a strictly hourly basis. We were not there during most of his work but knew that he was fine entering n remaining in house. He was over his head in electric tasks, fine with installing faucets in bathroom, but for installing simple tap switches, including 3way switches, he charged over $3000. Tap switches approximately 70 which he. Charged 46 hours labor at $50 per hour! It should have been 2-3 days max no matter what. When he couldn't figure out one 3 way, instead of letting us know that it was too complex, he continued to work unsuccessfully to figure out what was wrong. Previous to tap switch installation, ALL 3 Way switches worked great. This was a COSMETIC upgrade only. Electrician had estimated $1200 max. Supplies amounted to $750 for tap switches at Home Depot. I cannot in all conscience recommend this service except for straight forward repairs. Cancer treatments prevented someone there to supervise and I live out of town and was unable to oversee my house project. He worked hard but his progress was SLOW and then he couldn't finish n should have "called it" as too complicated much sooner. $50 per hour n he kept on attempting something beyond his capabilities. read more
