Both of our front derailleurs were acting up, and I had a pretty bad wobble in my tear tire. Knowing that Extreme Wheels is right up the street from us, I stopped in and booked a service appt. Zach took care of me and happily broke down the cost of their services. He took my info and set up the appointment and couldn't have been friendlier. Came back later in the week to drop off our bikes the night before our appointment and Jay (Jai?) immediately inspected our bikes to see if he felt any additional service was required. What's best is we DID NOT feel like we were being upsold services we didn't need. He inspected the bikes and made a recommendation to have my rear derailleur adjusted, but his recommendation was genuine and out of his passion for cycling. They weren't pushy or "salesy" at all. The next day we picked up both of our bikes and for $42 (tax included) I had no wobble in my tire, all of my gears shifted perfectly and my wife's derailleur was as good as new. Each derailleur cost $10 to clean/adjust and truing my wheel was another $10. Money well spent and terrific, convenient service too!

They are very accommodating and friendly. Their shop is like bike shops used to be: something for everyone, good service, not pretentious! (At this point it's only been bike problems but they have been so good I may need to start asking for help on other issues!) I am a newbie and am slowly learning my bike. This past week I tried adjusting my derailer, which hadn't been working right since taking it to a different (closer) bike shop about a month ago. Needless to say I broke it. I brought it to trek because of my previous good experiences and damn, not even 30 minutes later my bike was fixed and running like it had been when I bought it. Now I can't blame my rubbing chain for slowing me down. ;) Thank you for going above and beyond in the way you treat your customers and the service you provide. As a nearing middle-age female, who is new to bikes, I've not been treated with complete respect in other stores. Every time I have gone to Trek I leave happier and with a feeling that the biking community is awesome.

I was almost ready to order one through the mail that would have come from Canada called a Volte ebike and Steve was just so informative that I decided to drive over to Council Bluffs and talk to him about making me a bike. He gave me a great deal with a fair price. I got to say that he really knows his stuff. It took a little longer than I had expected for him to build it but only by a couple days. When I got there to pick up the bike he was making these meticulous fine tuning adjustments to assure that everything was in Tip-Top order. Since getting the bike 3 days ago, ive rode this ebike everyday, and have only needed to charge the battery the first night I brought it home. I think there is still 70 % on the battery. The funny thing is I have ridden a few e bikes in the past and I've never rode one as powerful as the one he built. I'm not saying it was cheap but this is truly the Cadillac of e-bikes. Every time I was in the shop I had seen many people come in and go out all of them seeming to have a great relationship with these guys that run to shop. They do know their stuff and I'm glad I accidentally stumbled into them.

It's so hard to find kind people when the world is going completely crazy. Imagine how we're all used to getting whatever we need instantly- but then the supply chain goes dry and you can't find parts at all. It puts a tremendous amount of pressure on everyone. Bike shops are all dealing with irritated customers who don't understand why things aren't in stock or why people can't always answer the phones. With everyone wanting a bicycle during lockdown and no parts being available, imagine the madness shops have to deal with in trying to stay open and satisfy customers while there are parts shortages. Somehow this team keeps their smile on, is helpful, and super awesome to deal with. AND they had what I needed in stock. A miracle. Elkhorn is lucky to have them. When the quote came around, the owner suggested hundreds of dollars in repairs. I gritted my teeth and agreed to it, hoping it would be worth it for our 430-mile bike ride ahead of us. It was not. The owner refused to give us a time he could do the repairs, even though we needed to be in Des Moines the next day, saying he would get it done "right away." We had to go to the shop twice the next day since he never called us as he promised to. When we finally collected the bikes, it was closing time for the shop and raining outside, so we couldn't take a test ride. When I finally got the bike on the road, I found he had botched the gears, reducing the functionality so only the bottom gears worked. I ended up having to do a week of biking across Iowa on low gears. Save yourself a headache and do not trust this shop with your bike.
