I came into the Spaarndammerburt nieghbourhood because I never go into the tunnel and out the other side. So I decided to explore a little bit and was looking for a place to eat that was open late. Unfortunately there is not much that is open late (9 pm) in this sleepy residential neighbourhood other than shawarma and pizza places. Johnny's looked like a nice family-run pizza place and I was craving some too.
The place is definitely family run as you can tell the owner and his delivery boys are related with joking and jabbing each other. I placed an order for a calzone to go. it was 8.50 euro but it was the size of my head! It was enough for two meals for sure. The calzone was made fresh because I saw it go into the oven and come out the other side. The owner even gave me a really sturdy bag for my "grab & fiets" order.
The calzone was almost the same price as a regular sized pizza so value for money was a bit low, but I'd come back and try the actual pizzas because they did look good while I was waiting for my order. read more
