Rusty Axe is much larger than I expected and more of a restaurant feel to it than brewery feel. The restaurant itself is very nice. I sat at the bar and got me a flight and a pizza. I was really looking forward to trying their Dr Pepper BBQ brisket pizza but unfortunately, they were out. I ordered a Margherita instead and it was pretty good. The pizza oven (i believe wood fired) was in full view from the bar. They have about 12 beers on tap and a few seltzers. I got a coconut stout, 2 IPA's and a Kolsch. All of them were good but the Hoosier Hazy was probably my favorite. Cool place, good beer and I would definitely stop in again if I were in the area. I just hope next time they have the brisket pizza!

Concurring with Heather M below, the staff seems kind of cold and standoff-ish. Outside of bare-minimum service pleasantries, which are always fine, there is little to no other effort to engage and create an upbeat environment. The staff just doesn't seem to know what to do when not actually serving. They need to engage more, show some energy, and just plain seem friendlier. If the owners can fix that issue, they will have a winning total formula here. Perhaps make one Red Bull per hour mandatory for the staff! Edit: I stopped in again for the awesome beer, and things were about the same. Will keep bringing my business in hope, though...

Their large outdoor seating area had over half the tables filled and there was a line at the bar. Anywho, I ordered my usual flight and got a Bock, a Kolsch and 2 IPA's. The beers were all solid but nothing that wow'd me per se. If I had to pick I'd say the Hop-a-Doches (hazy IPA) was my favorite of the group. The best part is that the flight of 4 beers was only 9.00. A steal! I wasn't hungry but there was a shed that served pizza in the courtyard. They had a baked potato pizza as the special that day and it was weird enough that I almost ordered one despite being full. There was also a food truck serving Mediterranean food but that may have been a rotating thing. The people were very nice, the place was cool and the beer was cheap.
