Inside is all the rest - meat, cheese, baked goods, spices, coffee, international foods...the list goes on and on. The ceiling is like an old train station , but purpose built in 1912 to be a bad*ss market. Gorgeous. About 130ish stalls. Cafe/bistro in ine corner, Johnny's hot dog joint in another. Kate's Fish, Peroigi Palace, Frank's Brats, Jim's Meats, Wiencek Poultry, Czuchraj Meats...i could go on... Get a buttermilk at Annemaries - salt and pepper on top is how my Dad did it. That tradition will stay with me forever. Grab a smokie at Czuchraj and stroll the stalls, get your shopping done, or just relax the day away. If you want to support local the West Side Market is the perfect stop, it doesn't matter the day of week, unless you are looking for the cafe to be open. I love being able to get my produce along with fresh seafood at Kate's and pasta from Ohio City, full meal planning in one stop, especially when you can grab a fresh bouquet that finishes your table setting. Parking is even easier with one hour free and scan and pay if you are going to shop at a leisurely pace.

You were able to smell the free baked goods when you walked in. The apple fritter was a disappointment but the cinnamon sugar pumpkin doughbut was amazing!! Much has staid the same since the previous reviews... great weekly newsletter/ online store / bag process for 22 weeks in the summer... and a kind of wonky but refreshing winter subscription... summer starts in June and runs through october... winter picks right up but is only weekly to Turkey day and then changes to every other week. Shopping the online store is like having a farmer's market at your finger tips! Every week they also bring items to the stops for grab and go purchase... but if you really want milk and eggs... order online! They can sell out at the truck. This winter we tried the new Carnivore subscription... over the season smeveryone gets the same cow / pig / poultry and value add (lard, stock, deli meat, sausage, bones) but there is less flexibility... you need to go to the same stop each week. No dietary substitutions... everyone gets pork for example. The only downside to the omnivore winter subscription is the cabbage... lots and lots of cabbage... sauerkraut... more basketball size cabbages... so the carnivore is a nice change while still having access to the store and avoiding out of state protein. They post the newsletters and photos of the weekly bags online and have an epic treasure troce of recipes!

I'm a regular Summer Share member (2yrs running) and it's my favorite. However, last year I didn't do the Winter one and this year I did--holy crap was I missing out. Totally worth the price. You pick up weekly bags in the beginning and then switch to once every other week as the cold months kick in. You get tons of winter veggies, greens and then you'll start getting freshly frozen, long-lasting items that store well. Lots of root veg, cheeses, jars of pickled goodness, grains, dried beans (not like those ones you get at the store, trust), pastas and lots and lots of meat! Oh--and if you haven't tried their Thanksgiving Bags, please do so this year. You won't be disappointed.

The parking is right in front of the entrance. In front of the entrance there are several tables of fresh fruit and vegetables. The produce isn't just local produce, but everything looked great. The inside was organized and clean. More produce is offered inside as well. They also have jams, dressings, sauces, cheeses, homemade catnip toys, and other goods. Everything here was reasonably priced, a great spot to get local food items.
