Lovely little dog park, playground and green space right on the lake with parking and connecting to…read morethe levee bike path. Gorgeous view! There's also space to launch a boat or kayak if you want to do that. BEWARE OF ALLIGATORS!!!!!!! The signs aren't a joke! Especially if you are there with a pet, have great caution when near the water. I say this because many people take their dogs down to the pavilion by the boat launch because that's where the hose is located. Keep your dog on a SHORT leash and beware of your surroundings. Gators like to hang there right around the corner.

My most recent visit here was to the Crime Stoppers event in October 2017. A co-worker was telling…read moreme about this event, and let me tell you, it was so very cool! The Jefferson Parish Sheriffs Department was here, as was the city police, members of the morgue (the live ones that work there, not the dead ones you silly goose), the SPCA was there with some animals, and so much more. Ideas for home protection were popular booths here as well. There were also booths set up giving hot dogs and soda at no cost to the public. There was a live band on stage. Now lets get to the park itself. There is an area specifically for dog that is small but enclosed. There are picnic tables and a couple of boat launches. You can access the walking trail that extends along the south side of the waterfront. This is between the levy and the water of the lake, so I am sure they block it off during storms. Great place to go to for some family bonding time.

I love this little park I have many fond memories here It…read moreis kept clean by most of the parents and locals. The children are always laughing and happily playing here It's a joy to pass by and hear all the giggles laughter squeals and screams of happy children running around I used to bring my nephews here but they are grown young teenagers now I would always bring with me hand sanitizer gel and wipes to disinfect little dirty hands Along with bandaids and Neosporin for minor cuts and abrasions Plus fresh up wipes to clean those little faces and hands There are no public bathrooms available so make sure everyone goes before arriving at the park and bring all your essentials that you may need Many times I would bring my own chair to sit in since it is a small place with very limited seating In summer month I would bring a mini ice chest with cold water lemonade fruit punch packets I always carried snacks as well too They get hungry running around and there is no vending machines available I would also bring hand towels to wet down their faces to cool off from the heat and clean up It's an excellent little neighborhood park for the neighborhood children It rests on a corner lot Parking is limited

It's not really worth going across the river just for this park. I may have missed that…read more"something" and would love if somebody would send me a note and tell me otherwise, but there isn't anything in this area to do. I did see a couple of coffee shops on my way to this park, but other than that I don't see hordes of people coming over here to this area. I would say you are better off not coming across the river and just go to the 3rd floor of the Riverwalk Mall and let your children play in the indoor play area. There is a nice food court and bathrooms really close by. Based on the previous reviews, and google searches of "things to do with kids in NOLA" I had high expectations of this park. What I saw when I arrived was a junk yard of misfit toys and beat up playground equipment. I know I'm being very critical of a playground for kids, but this is a poor excuse of a playground. In order to get here you need to purchase a ticket for the Ferry. The ferry leaves every 30 minutes and only costs a few bucks. The ride takes about 5 minutes to get across the river. Then it's about a 15 min walk to the park. I wouldn't say the area is unsafe, but I would suggest staying on the main roads if possible. The playground located on a street corner in the middle of a neighborhood. The playground is fenced in which I thought was nice. There were lots of toys inside, some of which were broken. The toys seemed to have been dropped by locals who just didn't want them anymore. There were a few swings, and a play set with a slide. There was also a rather large mulched area where kids can just run around. I will warn you, if it has rained recently then the playground is rather muddy. Over all it was a nice time for my little one to run around outdoors, in an enclosed area. Bathrooms - These seem to be few and far between in this town. The day was saved when I found out there was a coffee shop next door called "One Stone" that had a kid friendly bathroom. There was a really nice changing table in there with spare diapers and wipes. Had it not been for this saving grace we might have left just as soon as we arrived. **Be sure to read my review of "One Stone" as its worth visiting if you come over here for the park. Would I come back? Maybe. "One Stone" was pretty cool, but there are so many closer and better things on the other side of the river that there just isn't much of a draw to come back over here.
