I just wanted to express how thankful and grateful I am to this day for the help I received from Johnboy's Towing. Although this happened 12 years ago, I haven't had the opportunity to thank them since. I was on my way to Vegas to visit my mom, and of course, I did not tell her ahead of time that I would be traveling that way because of how worried she gets. I usually call her at half way point. My daughter at the time was only 9 years old and I also brought my cousin who was 17. I was about 15 minutes into HWY 166 fwy when the largest bird that I've ever seen, hit my windshield so perfect. The body itself was bigger then my windshield. There was so much broken glass in my car. It happened so fast, I didn't know what was going on. I remember driving and having to roll my window all the way down to see where I was going. It was so bad I almost drove off the cliff. I had to drive until I found a spot to pull over. I got out of the car, practically spitting out feathers and saw that my windshield was completely shattered and the top of my car was bent in with a little bit of bird skin caught at the top of the windshield. I checked to make sure my daughter and cousin were ok. It was around 7 p.m., no reception on my phone and was getting dark quick. One person was brave enough to pull over to see if we needed help. He also didn't have reception and said we will go find help. He left and 10 minutes gone by which seemed like a lifetime and no sign of help. It was cold and I began to panic. As I watched the cars go by, I saw a tow truck drive by going back towards Santa Maria. I wanted to cry at that point. Then 10 minutes later, still waiting for help, the tow truck came back and the driver asked if anyone was on their way to help and I said no. He asked if we were ok and said he is going to tow my car and take me and family home. I told him I didn't have any cash on me and he said not to worry, as long as we got home safe. He loaded up the car, we packed in the truck and drove off. He called his wife to let her know he was running late to get home because he stopped to help. I swear, he was an angel. I was so relieved. He asked which shop would I like him to take my car to and he will drop it off, no charge. He dropped us off at home and told me not to worry, my car will be at the shop and to just call my insurance company to file a claim. The next day, I called the shop and sure enough my car made it. If it wasn't for him, I don't even want to think about what else could've happened. I've been meaning to call to say thank you, but so much was going on, it slipped my mind . So after 12 years since the incident took place, and writing this long review, I want to say THANK YOU!!! You were our life saver. Sunday morning and my car wouldn't start. Saw the + battery terminal was covered with blue crystals, so figured I'd clean the contact and see if that helped. The connector broke on the first attempt to remove. Called Johnboy's and Jay came out in just a few minutes - unfortunately, the connector and cable are integrated and a dealer-only part, so he couldn't fix it. He went back to the office and got some equipment to test - battery tested OK but starter only growled - besides needing a new cable, probably a new starter, too. He recommended a few shops to call Monday morning, which I did, and then called Johnboy's again. They came out quickly, winched my car up the long driveway and loaded it on a flatbed (my car's 4wd) in just a few minutes, then took it to the shop. Billed my insurance directly for both house calls so I didn't have to pay anything out of pocket. I'm telling everyone I know - if you need emergency repair or a tow, call Johnboy's! read more

so we're on our way home, our Care Home clients, myself and my wife, after 8 days at the beach in Pismo. 11am, 95° climbing Cuesta grade and my Dodge diesel truck goes BOOM! stuck on the side of the road, in a VERY small area, and Johnboy's shows up. Mitch says let's get you someplace a little safer and guides us down to the next exit. he then makes a phone call from there to find the only open diesel repair shop on a Saturday. he tows us the 30 miles there and drops us in good hands. turns out i had blown an intercooler boot. Mopar parts is not open on the weekend, however, it turns out that the guy has a used part in his yard to fix my truck! If it wasn't for Johnboy's professional driver knowing who to call and where to tow us, i don't know what would have happened. I had trouble with the airbags on my navigator all the way down in Thousand Oaks and didn't know what to do. Being from the 5 Cities I called a local (to me) tow company. Thank goodness I chose Johnboy's....John himself drove down to Thousand Oaks and saved the day...He might as well have been wearing a cape as he was truly my hero! He even made a stop for me on the way back to drop off some produce and helped me unload it. My girlfriend locked her keys in the car in the process of leaving for work and it was right after she put our son in the car seat. Complete accident, we didn't have time to call AAA due to our baby in the car we needed someone fast. Called 911, police and firemen show up and didn't have the tools to open. Someone recommended this towing company, they got there in exactly 6 minutes from me calling and opened the door free of charge to get our kid out!
