I would say 3.5 stars but I'll upgrade to 4 to give them the benefit of the doubt. First of all, they are great at same day service with one caveat... This is one of those last minute emergency plumbing companies. Excellent at handling stuff like back ups, minor leaks. I haven't used them for anything complex, but from my conversations with some of their plumbers - at least some of them are very experienced and know what they're talking about. Their pricing is reasonable even for overtime. But here's the caveat which caused me a lot of upset. Unfortunately, if you have a LATE NIGHT emergency, they simply don't show. I had a plumbing issue once at 9 pm - late, but not exactly middle of the night. Anyway, I called them. A lady did answer and assured me somebody would be out. 11 pm came, no one ever called me. Called the lady again and she had no idea what was going on. By 2 am I had to get to bed and then at 9 am the guy called me ready to come. It was a miserable night because they dropped the ball. If they could not accommodate something so late, they shouldn't have said they would. So be careful about calling them late at night. But for early evenings, weekends - yes they will show. read more

I've used John White plumbing for years but recently had a very poor experience with their plumbing division. I have a rental and had asked the plumber to call me when he was at the house so we could go over details of the job. I never received a call from the plumber and he didn't take care of all the issues at the house although I had listed them when I placed the order for the job. I called the John White office to discuss this and spoke with Colleen who promised to have the plumbing supervisor call me. I called three times with no return call from the supervisor. Sad to say, after over 14 years as a loyal customer, and giving them many referrals, I am having to line up other options. Between September 2024 and November 2024, their service call jumped from $140 to $225, in one swoop. Additionally, I had my credit card on file. They charged it without ever providing an invoice (with the new $225 service fee). I've revoked my authorization of them being able to use it. read more

They were hired by me to change 14 water valves under my sinks and by my toilet, The Bill was over $900 and add 3% to charge, They put on a $10 gas surcharge while gas prices are the lowest in 2 years as well as charged $340 for this 14 valves that probably cost them less the $100. John Whites is simply the best. When I moved to California and into my home, the sewer backed up. I called one of the heavily advertised rooter companies and was told I needed to replace the pipe from my house to the street...at a cost of over $10,000. Thinking I should get a second opinion I looked for a neighborhood plumber and White was the closest. They came over, looked at the line with their camera and told me I had some roots that needed to be cut out. $200 or $300 later all was fixed. They now come every six months to keep the line clear I have called them on Thanksgiving day when my disposal backed up and they arrived a hour after my call. They are always available for emergencies, on weekends, whenever. They put in my hot water heater... they can do it all . I highly recommend them. read more

They did some work on the water heater and then it was leaking so they had the same guy that did the work come back to check it and did not disclose a $150 charge for checking their own work. NOT COOL ! When I asked how much to connect a hose to drain away the leak from the foundation I was quoted $350. OVER CHARGE ! I bought some hose and a clamp on Amazon for under $15 and fixed it myself in less than 20 minutes. So you decide if you want to be treated that way.
