At my 2-week post-op appointment and every appointment afterward, I repeatedly tried to explain how intense and persistent the pain was and how concerned I felt about it. Unfortunately, I left those visits feeling unheard and dismissed. I understand recovery from spinal surgery can be difficult and unpredictable, but as a patient, I desperately needed reassurance, guidance, and to feel like my concerns truly mattered. Instead, I personally felt like I was repeatedly told to "wait it out," even as the pain continued month after month. During this process, I was referred by Dr. Kalra to multiple different specialists in an attempt to address the ongoing nerve pain. However, after being evaluated, those doctors ultimately referred me back to Dr. Kalra regarding the issues related to my fusion and recovery. This left me feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, and unsure where to turn for answers or support. More than a year later, I am still dealing with the same nerve pain that began after surgery. This has significantly affected my quality of life. The surgery was scary to say the least but we cannot speak highly enough about Dr. Hostin. The surgery went as expected, (Better than we expected), and my husband is recovering. Before surgery the pain would bring him to his knees after standing up for 5-10 minutes. He was up and walking within 24 hours (baby steps of course). Last night we went on a 30 minute walk and other than still recovering from the slight pain from the incisions he feels amazing. Absolutely NO back/sciatic pain that he has been experiencing for the last several years. If you are considering any type of back surgery. Dr. Hostin is your guy! Dr. Aduddell is my 2nd comprehensive pain doctor over 3 yrs. I have received 2 spine ablations…read moreover a 2 year period from him. The first doctor did unsuccessful epidurals. My spine surgeon recommended Dr. Aduddell who than pinpointed what he recognized as the problems and within a few weeks performed a bilateral ablation on multiple areas of the spine. I am able to enjoy physical activities including playing golf. This is the second time that he has performed this minimal invasive procedure with precision and the results have been phenomenal. Activities are enjoyable again. I am in my middle 70's but feel much younger and active. I highly recommend him.

But I blew off that red flag. When I broke my ankle, in 2023, my surgeon released me and advised me to go to a pain management doctor. So I naturally went to Dr Aduddell. He had a really nasty attitude about helping me with the pain from breaking my ankle and surgery. He doesn't have the ability to empathize. I never went back to him. I have since needed 2 additional surgeries on my ankle. And thank God I found a great pain management doctor who has helped me tremendously. Dr Harpavat has personal experience with broken ankles and understands completely the relation between back and ankle. Dr Harpavat diagnosed me with CRPS. Just remember when choosing a pain doctor - you have a choice!
