I reached out to John Vance auto as I was interested in a vehicle they had at their Guthrie location. I live in Missouri currently but am from Tulsa. I reached out and Erik(salesman) reached back out, I set a day aside for me to come to the dealership to test the vehicle I was interested in . When I arrived at the dealership, (after a 1.5 hour drive) I was told they didn't have the vehicle on the lot and that it had been moved to their Woodward location. Which was 3 hrs from my family's home. All in all I sat at the dealership , for over three hours, when we came to an agreement that the salesman (Erik) would drive the car to my home in Tulsa and let me test drive it after he got it from Woodward. I did decide to purchase the vehicle. But when Erik, arrived I asked about paperwork, and he said "there was only a couple things that needed to be signed" well several days later I get a call from the finance person Luis and he states I didn't have the paperwork signed after I was told , there was nothing else to be done the day before. Everything else was sent to me electronically but then the links didn't work. Overall this has been a pretty frustrating experience . read more

Absolutely terrible! Looked at a car yesterday with Luis. Decided today the car was the car for me. Got in contact with Luis around 2 p.m., made it VERY clear I was ready to buy the car with the money in full. Worked out an agreement to have a small window chip fixed, would be ready when I got there at 6:30... 5 minutes before showing up, he had sold the car. Mind you, I drove all the way from Norman, Oklahoma to get this car. He knew all day I was going to be there at 6:30 to buy the car. To sell 5 minutes before I show up is poor business. Not once did he mention anything about a deposit, which I would have gladly made to hold the car. This is a terrible way to do business. Will NEVER go back. I am a Marine who is stationed in California. I saw a listing on Car Gurus and found a beautiful 2015 Honda Fit. I took a loan out in February, while I was still out of state, and the salesperson still pressured me by saying the car would be reserved for me, but "there are a few customers looking at it". When I went to Kansas for vacation, I drove a couple of hours to Oklahoma to pick the vehicle up. Test drive the vehicle and it worked fine. They gave me two sets of key; one that doesn't work properly (the computer doesn't recognize it as a genuine key) and one that works fine. I ended up paying a fee for some paperwork preparation, which I don't understand why they charged me that fee because I was not given the title or registration that day. Overall, the salespersons are amazing; they will help you and do anything to get a sale. When it comes to the administration side of things, I was pretty upset. I was not given the proper documentation to be able to register my car in Kansas during my 11 days of vacation. I purchased the car on March 11 and received the title and registration on April 10th. I had turned 21 years old on April 1st, which made my drivers license invalid for registration. This inconvenience was pretty upsetting; due to the dealership's deficiency, I had to wait until I could renew my driver's license (by mail) to send in the paperwork to get it registered through Kansas. It is now June 15th, and I finally got license plates for my vehicle that I purchased back in February. Fantastic. read more

What a day! Drove to Guthrie to see a car at John Vance. Worst experience ever! Called them first thing, they told us to come down, and they'd have it ready. We got there and they not only had sold it, they didn't once apologize or attempt to make it right. I understand completely that they don't have to hold it, but they could have at least called us to tell us, rather than trying to push other cars on us, and being shocked when I told them we were leaving. How much does John Vance pay for good reviews? Product Knowledge: F I had to figure out how amazing the 2019 RAM is all on my own because neither sales person could answer my questions. Luck for them that truck can sell itself. Customer Service: F Waited for literal hours to sign papers for the vehicle. Plenty of people standing around, only to be told that my NEW $70k wouldn't be detailed even though it sat there for 3 hours. I left my truck with them for 4 hours to get detailed on another day only to have them tell me that it would need to stay overnight. Meanwhile...guess who had to scrape stickers off the windshield and wheels and peel plastic off the chrome....definitely no one at John Vance! Customer Satisfaction: F After 4 weeks of back and forth on a small plastic snap grommet on the floor mat that was missing when I laid them out, I was finally told that they can't do anything for me because it would have had to be replaced before the truck left the lot. So them not detailing my truck and laying out the floor mats that were smashed under the back seat is MY PROBLEM?? It's not like I bought some old used POS of the lot! IT"S A BRAND NEW 2019 RAM! Mind you, I got home at 9:30 PM, installed the floor mats myself, noticed the missing grommet, and called my salesman the next day! Found a used vehicle that we were interested in as a second car for our family of 5, and we did the research and thought it was a good enough deal to drive 2 hours for. We Called first thing in the morning to make sure the vehicle was available. Salesman assured us the vehicle was available and he would have it ready for us to look at, as we would have to load 3 kids (6 yr., 4 yr. and 2 yr. old) into the car and drive 2 hours to see the vehicle. Obviously driving 2 hours one-way, we planned on purchasing. Got there and were seated in an open seating area to be told they had sold it just before we got there, so it was no longer available. The salesman was able to "detail and pull around 2 comparable vehicles," but somehow not able to call us on our long drive and tell us that it was no longer available and offer us options. Blindsiding customers is not good people skills. I understand they have no obligation to hold the vehicle for us, but they offered No apologies, never asked us what we wanted in a comparable vehicle, just assumed. When we told them we were leaving, they were shocked. To add insult to injury, the salesman then emailed me to thank me for viewing a vehicle and provide me the vehicle detail report in case I was still interested and would reconsider- and the vehicle detail report he sent was for the vehicle that was sold out from under us. Bad business, do not care for their customers, just looking for a sale. Avoid if you can. Have bought many cars in my adult life, and I can say this is the first negative "sleezy used car salesman" experience I have had. read more

This review is for the service department at Dodge. We came in for a indicator light that came on while we were driving from California to Oklahoma. John Vance diagnosed it and told us to come back the very next day and get it fixed. We came first thing in the morning and we were done in 3 hours. We tried going to the dodge in Oklahoma City and they weren't able to get us in until the day we were supposed to be leaving OK! They were friendly, fixed the problem, and did not overcharge. We also had our back brake pads replaced while we were there (it needed it) and it was only $238 out the door! Coming from California where everything is over priced we were so pleased. My wife initially dealt with David Larremore over the phone. They traded pictures of the car she wanted and the trade in we offered and we got a trade in value. David was highly respectful, kind, courteous, and responded promptly to any questions she may have had. When we got there at 7 p.m. that evening David could not be there, so we dealt with Al Guerrero and it was a seamless transition as he had most of the information regarding our purchase. He was kind, accommodating, and extremely concerned with our satisfaction. As we moved into the finance portion of the deal, we were in the care of Robert Savage and Rick Sanders who were already ahead of our purchase with the paperwork ready to sign. Robert and Rick were efficient and thorough and treated us as people, not statistics. They had our purchase car ready when we arrived and gave us exactly what they offered for our trade in. I felt so comfortable with them we opted to buy our second vehicle before we planned and they stayed after closing hours and in the icy cold to accommodate knowing that we lived 2-1/2 hours away. After narrowing it down to 2 options I decided to come back the following Saturday to purchase one of them. I'll start by saying if I could give this less than one star I would. Trying to buy a truck from this business proved to be the worst experience I've had to date with a car dealership. I live 2.5 hrs away (one way) I spoke with a salesman on the phone, we traded pictures and info about the new truck and my trade in, I explained all details of my vehicle, dents included, I left nothing out. I told him that I would drive out that day and purchase this vehicle if we could trade for xx amount, he said he needed to speak with his people, he called and said to head that way. I drove to the dealership and after sitting around for 2hrs he tried offering me $10,000 less. That's $16,000 less than what the exact same vehicles with same mileage are selling for. Needless to say I stood up and left. 8hrs I'll never get back. I should have known they weren't trustworthy when I was sitting in the office and the sales manager told the salesman (who was on the phone with a potential customer) "just tell him whatever, just get him in the store" hopefully I save someone a bad experience by this review. read more

Do not trust (surprise) their used car salespeople. In particular, Drake Harness with whom I worked out a deal for a car, flew to Oklahoma to finalize, and he sold the car to somebody else while I was in the air. He refused to take a deposit over the phone and said we could finalize when I landed. When I landed and took a 45 minute Uber ride to the dealer they told me the car is sold. My mistake for expecting this company to honor their word. My biggest problem honestly is that Drake did not text me to let me know the car was sold after dealing with me repeatedly by text. He refused to respond to me at all. He probably knew when he made the deal with me that he had somebody else coming in. The owner refused to see me and remained in her office with the door closed, knowing an upset customer wanted to see her and (more importantly) why. You should take your business somewhere -- anywhere -- else. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!! This is the WORST car dealership ON THE PLANET -- go elsewhere!! Anywhere else. We found a BMW online and agreed to buy it. We settled on a price and asked to put a deposit down on the car and come pick it up that day. The salesman said no deposit was necessary and that we would get everything finalized when we arrived. We flew from Dallas to Oklahoma City and Ubered it to the dealership to finalize the contract. When we got there, the car was being test driven by someone else WHO ULTIMATELY AGREED TO BUY it!! Instead of telling this person that the car was already spoken for, the dealership agreed to sell the car to the other person!! The GM was of NO HELP because he was already gone for the day (it was before 5 pm) and they REFUSED to call him!!! This was the best experience we had ever had buying a vehicle, and we have purchased several throughout the years. Rick with financing was probably the best I have ever dealt with. Honest, straight forward, no bs, and extremely helpful. I would have to say, the only complaint I have, which is most likely due to a newbie sales rep, was the fact that we left the dealership after purchasing our vehicle and the gas light came on within just a few miles and we had an hour drive home. It was just way to late to turn around and ask if they could at least put some fuel in it. The vehicle also had not been cleaned inside or out most likely since it was put on the lot, and I had to kick out a used band aid and sunflower seed shells from the back floorboards. We will have to detail it ourselves before we start driving it with our kids and such. Maybe when you purchase a used vehicle, dealerships aren't required to fill the gas tank up and make sure it is clean inside and out, but you would think with the amount of $$ we just spend with them it would be a no brainier common curtesy. Overall, we will be returning customers at John Vance in Guthrie for sure and I will recommend them to all of our friends. read more
