I see Dr. Schmidt in NYC for Botox, filler and vampire facial. He is fantastic! Spends a lot of time with me and the results are amazing!

I realized that Yelp had not posted this review in the correct place! I wrote this after my last…read moreappointment April 2019 with Dr. Philip Silverstone. It's was placed under Eye Physicians & Surgeons in general?? I'm a rather difficult patient... ask my significant other he is a Dentist! When it comes to anything eye related . I can't even touch my own eyes! People with such phobias typically need to seek out Doctors with incredible skill, a calming manor and a great deal of patience-or we would never get through an eye exam. Dr. Silverstone is exactly that kind of Doctor! Mine for many years. He is also the "go to" Doc for many medical professionals in our community. I can now say with total impunity I do not equate eye surgery with being set on fire. That's Trust! In addition, he happens to have a superb assisting staff (patient care). My experience was with his assistant C.J- was wonderful she is the gold standard! Note: You will need to to keep a tight follow on your prescriptions, and be very clear and firm with front desk as to what you need and when you need it- it's a busy practice so it's understandable, and I'm happy to overlook this, for such a terrific Doctor like Philip Silverstone. Thank you!

I'm 38 years old never heard of it. It's a year later now and the problem has come back but my grandmother is in the middle of a terrible UTI and is no shape to stand never mind go to the Dr, I told him that I just needed him to write out a prescription of the same eye drops he gave her last time which helped so I can use them to help her until the antibiotics do there job and she back on her feet and I get her right down their. Her eye is so bad and she's is so uncomfortable with it. But he said no. That's not possible and the best appointment I have is September 8th which is 2 weeks from now. I'm floored!! What a POS!!

Unfortunately I would never recommend Dr. Mao as a surgeon to perform blepharoplasty. If you are…read moreconsidering blepharoplasty you should see an oculoplastic surgeon/surgeon board certified in Ophthalmology. Dr. Mao's oversight cost me $40,000 in surgical repair fees ($15,000 if done through a less experienced surgeon) from THE BEST surgeon in the country that corrects these issues (lower lid retraction and entropion). The repair surgery involves a graft from the roof of my mouth being used on the back of my eyelid. It's not guaranteed it will even work because the damage to my eye is so extensive. I had been living in horrible discomfort as my lower eye lashes have been turned into my eye. Dr. Mao wasn't able to recommend a protective contact lens to ease the pain. Another surgeon I consulted with recommended it. It was a lifesaver. Immediately following my first surgery with Dr. Mao, I can see the lower lid of my left eye is pulled down. Sadly, nobody caught it at followup appointments until I brought it up. I was consistently told by Amanda that I looked good. Dr Mao performed a second surgery 3 wks post op to correct it, unfortunately only made it worse. One time I woke up and my eye was bleeding in the middle of the night. It was terrifying. After a 3rd surgery with no improvement, I decided to seek a specialist. PLEASE do not have anyone other than an experienced oculoplastic surgeon perform surgery on your eyes. And never have implants inserted into your tear troughs - no oculoplastic surgeon would recommend them. Initially I felt that Amanda was helpful and compassionate but in hindsight I believe she was gaslighting me. She kept telling me I looked great despite specialists telling me I needed grafts to fix the retraction. I never had access to Dr. Mao post op - only Amanda or Arissa. Everything went through Amanda. Dr. Mao's office has not offered any financial assistance towards the specialist repair surgery despite the damage done to my eye. I don't want anyone else to endure this extremely traumatic & costly experience. From my perspective it's important to choose a surgeon to perform the surgery that knows how to correct it should something go wrong.

I called and he had another doctor "covering". I left a message, assuming I had an infection. I waited and waited, never got a call back. I was lucky to have some left over antibiotics or else I would have had to go to the emergency room to get some. I got an appointment a couple of days later, and the doctor was incredibly rude and abrupt. He scolded me for "letting it get infected". Really? I kept it covered and didn't get it dirty in any way. I asked him a question and his response was "that is a stupid question". I kid you not, he actually said that. I immediately went to another office, the other doctor fixed what Dr. Fischer did and I was very happy with the new doctor. Would not recommended my worst enemy to this guy.
