I wish I could be writing a positive review for my experience here, but I spent a lot of money to end up with no results. I went in to inquire about laser treatments for the indentation on my forehead and the dark patches I have on my face from morphea scleroderma. I was recommended the Profractional laser at first, and then it was decided, after the technician spoke with Dr. Collins, that the Halo laser would be better. It's been months since I had this done, and I never saw any results from the treatment. I would have been fine with 50% or 25% improvement and doing multiple sessions, but not when there was no difference. When I came in for the 6-week follow-up, I was met with Dr. Collins, who informed me that it turns out I actually have "deep melasma" and that's why the laser didn't work. Keep in mind, this was the first time I met or spoke with her. The "deep melasma" possibility was not discussed with me before the procedure, and had I known that could have been the issue, I probably wouldn't have gone through with a $2,000 laser. My results or lack of results were not addressed at all, and I was basically told "that sucks, oh well" by Dr. Collins at the final follow-up. I'm very disappointed with my experience here. I felt like there was a lack of communication and accountability from the staff and Dr. Collins. I would not recommend this business at all. This is hands down the best MedSpa I have been to! I started out by getting Botox, then had a HALO facial, and have now switched my entire skincare regiment to their products. The entire staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. The reason I felt compelled to write a review today was because my visit with Sophia went so well yesterday! I was left with 6" third degree burns on each side of my body I had the red band on it was in my records when I was being operated on It's so sad. It shows when I wear a bathing suit now. I was only checked once after the completed surgery. My third degree burns were showing and she never said to come back again for checkups. I let it go because I was so excited I had beat Cancer. I called Dr. Collins' office to schedule a consultation and was quoted a price for laser resurfacing. At the appointment a week later, the staff quoted me a price that was almost double the original quote. When I asked about the difference, I was told that the price had changed. I made the appointment based on the quoted price and feel that it was a bait and switch. When I asked for a refund of the consultation fee of $150, the staff was very slow to respond and always has an excuse for their slow response. It has been weeks since the request, and I am being told that the only way to get a refund is if I take down any pooreviews. This office cares more about reviews than patients. I am so disappointed and do not want this to happen to anyone else. It is worth not getting a refund to save another person from this type of service. Beth Collins MD in Guilford CT is one of the best plastic surgeons I've visited. I recently encountered a rear hatch back of a Ford Explorer that jumped in front of me and instead of being scarred for life I am able to continue my super model career. I've seen the negative nellies aka haters on Yelp and I'm a guy and even I know botox takes a week to set in along with many fillers. I also don't believe anything that doesn't have a photo or a first time poster. People, judge for yourself, she is the chosen anchor for all major news networks in CT and when you meet her, you just want to go back. As for the staff, they rock as well. Bonnie on the laser, Margo on the injectables and cool sculpting and Nedeline on the brows. I e only been here for a month and they get 5 stars out of Five. I recently underwent a breast reduction and am totally pleased with her skill as a surgeon. Her follow up was stellar and really cares about her patients. In addition , I have had an eyelid lift 2 years ago and the scares are undetectable. I highly recommend her for any treatment. She continues to master her craft by investigating and searching out the best ways possible to help her patients. She has always been honest with her assessment of Botox and other fillers. I had a consultation with Beth Collins approximately 3 months ago to discuss options for a flatter tighter abdomen area. This was my first consultation with a plastic surgeon and was very eager to schedule the procedure that would improve my midsection. I spend about 16 hrs a week in the gym and eat very clean. I have a normal BMI and have NEVER had children. I have lost a total of about 45 lbs slowly over the last 10 yrs and have very little subcutaneous fat covering my abdominal muscles. My main goal was to get a bit more of an hourglass shape and eliminate all fat deposits remaining that aren't coming off with intense exercise and good nutrition. I explained in the consultant I was very dissatisfied with my abdominal area and was looking for liposuction with a possible skin tightening procedure called j plasma. I have already had cool sculpting a year prior without the results I was hoping for so I was in hopes doing something invasive would complete my desired look. Beth Collins examined me and we had a VERY indepth conversation about health and fitness and she even shared with me a close family member was a competitive body builder and huge fitness fanatic. After examining me she told me I was not a candidate for liposuction or any other procedure and I needed a tummy tuck. I have absolutely NO excess skin hanging or sagging over my pubic area and I was completely blind sided with this recommendation. She then directed her attention to my breasts which are in need of a lift due to the weight loss and my age which is 44. I have pondered with the idea but was specifically in her office to discuss contouring my abdomen. I was extremely emotional and disappointed and pretty much had checked out mentally while we had a 5 min discussion about my breasts. I ended up leaving her office with 2 quotes. The 1st for a breast lift and second quote for a lift and implants. I walked out extremely confused and let down. I called her office 2 weeks later explaining I felt very uncomfortable with the outcome and wanted to come back for a second consult after the pandemic to discuss my abdomen again. I was told to call back in December for another consult. In the meantime I made another consultation with Dr. Mark Lowney out of Fall River Mass and drove over an hour for my consultation. I was extremely nervous I could be given the same recommendation and he may possibly agree I needed a tummy tuck. I am completely against a tuck due to awful scar and the fact I do NOT have children. I explained to Dr. Lowney before I disrobed the experience I had with Beth Collins and told him her recommendation. He was very attentive and asked me to disrobe. Within seconds of the doctor examining my stomach he stated I am absolutely not an good candidate for a tummy tuck and I have absolutely no need for one. He stated that liposuction 360 in my abdomen area and j plasma which is a skin tightening procedure would give me the desired look I was seeking and I scheduled my surgery date immediately after my consultation with Dr. Lowney. I then called Beth Collins to discuss my consult with her and let them know I would not be returning in Dec for a second consult and I had already booked my surgery. I asked for my $150 consultation fee back and was told when I initially made the appt over the phone for my consult I stated I was looking to have my breasts done. ABSOLUTELY INCORRECT. I went to Dr Beth Collins for a breast reduction. I came out of surgery immediately knowing that my breast were completely uneven. I waited, per her request to give it time. They remained completely lopsided. I sent multiple pictures as requested, I flew in for appointments. Each and every time, she maintained that I was wrong, her surgery was correct. I went home defeated. Only to be told by multiple plastic surgeons, that Dr Beth Collins had in fact reduced one breast way smaller then the other Finally Dr Collins conceded that they were a completely different size. Now, I had to pay to go back and do it all again. The only break in my price was her time. Which basically meant that I had to pay for the entire procedure again. So of course I did. I went in to have my breast reduced, to finally feel comfortable with them. I woke up with bruises all over my chest... as if I had been been beaten by a base ball bate. To my surprise, Dr Collins had not only gone in and tried to try and reduce the larger the breast, she also went in and did liposuction? I had no knowledge that that was happening. After all of these horrific surgeries, I contracted a horrible infection, I lost the nipple on the breast that that I had to go back into surgery for, and my breasts are still completely different from Dr Collins first surgery. I am completely embarrassed in front of my husband of 33 years. I wish that I had never stepped into Dr Collins office. And there are many like me. I'm 32 and have been getting Botox as more of a preventative measure for a couple years already. I moved and needed to find a new place so I chose Dr. Collins because she prices Botox by the unit rather than the area. This is the only way it makes sense for me since I get so little spread over my forehead and crows feet (no 11s yet). The office is beautiful & the receptionists are friendly, but even from the first visit I got the vibe Dr. Collins was annoyed I didn't want more/spend more. Almost like my appointment wasn't worth her time. On my last visit I allowed myself to be up-sold into more Botox than I'm used to and regret it. It didn't seem to offer any noticeable difference other than in my bank account. In fact, looking at pictures from before and after it seems to have exasperated the asymmetry I already have in my eyebrows. During my Botox visits I'd asked about getting Retin A from them when my prescription ran out and was told that's wouldn't be a problem. We even discussed me going up to .1 from .05. I was actually offered what I was lead to believe was .1 Retin A/tretinoin at check out, but declined at the time because I still had quite a bit left. Fast forward to me running out of Retin A a couple months later....I called to ask about picking some up and was told I'd need to make an appointment with the doctor because she hadn't seen me for that before (true, but a little annoying since we'd already discussed it in other appointments I'd had). I called back a few days later to make an appointment and spoke to someone else and was told I didn't need an appointment; I could just come pick some up. I was surprised, but pleased and ASKED SPECIFICALLY that it would be Retin A/tretinoin and was told "yes, it's the doctors own brand and they have it in both .05 and .1". I went to pick up the doctors own brand of .1 tretinoin and paid $95ish dollars (which is about what I've paid for REAL tretinoin before). At that point I'd been off my .05 tretinoin for several weeks and as expecting to really need to wean myself into the .1. Basically, this "doctors own brand" is crap. It has a strange silicone feeling to it (like some makeup primers) that I don't like and after a few days of not noticing anything putting it on every other day, I upped it to every day and eventually twice a day with it doing NOTHING authentic tretinoin does. So, I've officially quit Dr. Collins and found another place that's cheaper, takes their time, makes me feel valued and appreciated as a client even if I don't shoot my face up with $1000 of Botox, has REAL tretinoin (for less than $95!), is just so much more welcoming and pleasant. read more

I did a lot of research to ensure I would find a top quality, board certified doctor to trust with my skin and face. I've been reading "New Beauty" magazine for years and they vet top doctors and that is how I discovered Dr. Beth Collins. I also did a lot of research on how to treat my lines, wrinkles and sun spots from years of sun damage and tanning booths. The Sciton platform with its large variety of options consistently ranked tops. I was very excited when my top choice of doctor and laser/light treatments overlapped. I initially thought the Sciton Contour TRL is what I needed, but Dr. Collins did a thorough analysis of my skin and my lifestyle (I'm able to recover without having to go into the office for as much time as needed so aggressive treatment wouldn't be a problem). Dr. Collins recommended Sciton BBL (possibly called Forever Young, but I'm not sure) plus 'medium' Sciton Halo and I requested we do my face, neck, chest and hands and Dr. Collins agreed all areas would be a good candidate for treatment. We did both treatments, first BBL then Halo, to all areas, in one afternoon since I don't live in town. WOW! The results are amazing! I am really happy and we only needed one treatment to achieve the desired results. I used Alastin procedure products 2 weeks before and 4 weeks after and I had zero problems. I started with a little ProNox prior to procedure but didn't use it once Dr. Collins started. Jess walked me through what to expect and she was completely on point, after one hour the "sunburn" feeling subsided, and day 2 there was swelling, pretty puffy neck and face, but it was as described and I applied ice packs wrapped in a towel. I took a Tylenol but it wasn't painful and no oozing-the skin did not "break". Dr. Collins also explained what to expect, like my skin would feel like sandpaper during recovery. Also, I read and discussed the post treatment care handout, and sleeping upright I think helped a little with the swelling. I'm glad I had the Alastin recovery balm for my face, I also used Aquafor on my chest and neck and hands. I had a follow up visit on day 3 and had no problems to report. Next week I visit Dr. Collins for my one month follow-up and I seriously can't believe how great everything looks. My neck and eyes are the most noticeable improvements for skin texture, as well as the skin on the side of my face exposed when driving, and the huge brown sunspots and red veins on my nose and cheeks are the most noticeable improvements regarding pigment. I did my hands to remind me how awesome the rest of me looks;) I unexpectedly had to go to the office on day 9, I had purchased the Alastin "Tinted" sunscreen and wore that, and received compliments on my skin. First time in my life I didn't apply "cover up" to spots since they are no longer there. I'm so happy with Dr. Collins and her team. I really like that Dr. Collins continues to stay up to date on Procedures and products, especially during this time of so many new items on the market. I highly recommend Dr. Collins and will continue to be a patient for all future needs, whether surgical or cosmetic, she has earned my trust. read more

I scheduled a Botox appointment (first time) which went well, however it felt very rushed - almost like because I was only getting Botox she didn't have time for me. Maybe she pays more attention to the patients who spend more on bigger procedures? It felt like I had to ask the questions because there was no introduction to what was about to happen. I went to Dr. Collins to have the area under my eyes filled in. I was quoted $500-$900 which seemed fine. As I was filling out the paperwork, she came out to the waiting area and asked me to come in. She was rushed for time. I guess she had to go somewhere. I quickly explained what I wanted done and she agreed to do it. We went into another patient room and she took out a syringe. I told her to go light on the filler, I did not want my eyes over filled. She asked me if I wanted her to put some filler in my smile lines and on my forehead. I guess that I should have asked if how much more this was going to cost me, but I thought she was using the left over from my eyes. I went to check out and the total was $2400! Dr. Collins saw me for the first time in January 2018. She requested a $150 consultation fee before I even walked in the door. My experience was awful . Dr. Collins walked in the exam room coughing, shivering with a FULL MASK ON ACROSS HER FACE - she was sick with the flu . She continued to breathe all over me till I literally left the chair in disgust asked for my initial fee back of which she will not refund and her office thought it was actually amusing that I would ask for the monies back . This was beyond unprofessional and anyone who has to come to work sick as a Doctor is not worth going to ! Awful ! She should be ashamed of herself and her entire practice ! read more

My mother and I have seen Dr. Collins for about 3 years now. I do not at all understand any negative reviews. People, if you want fillers they are expensive! She is a plastic surgeon not a dermatologist. Yes, you can go somewhere & get everything cheaper but why would anyone want to risk that? I've had another plastic surgeon in the past and have seen work by others and no thank you. First of all she has NEVER rushed either myself or my mom. Everyone at the office has been professional. Dr. Collins is the most easygoing, unpretentious doctor I have ever met. But most importantly she does amazing work. My face was completely covered with dark sunspots from tanning throughout the years. Even makeup couldn't cover it anymore. So I went to Dr. Collins and she suggested I have the TRL (laser) on my face. So I made my appointment and she strongly forewarned me that it is a painful procedure. It was done in her office. She was correct. It was very painful. However, approximately 3 weeks later my skin was absolutely glowing and beautiful. I was never expected to buy her products. It was suggested but other options were as well. What Dr Collins does is really study the area that bothers you (I'm talking about fillers here). You may think you need filler in a certain area but she may tell you that unless you put filler in a different area the area you originally wanted might not work. I am offended when a reviewer states something like, "Probably the people who pay more money get better treatment." That's is absolutely ridiculous. Please don't make a judgement until you meet her & her staff. I highly recommend her. And to make it clear I am not a friend, colleague or family member! read more
