When I went to see Dr. Zebda about my Autoimmune disease he did not weigh me, and when he came into my room he made assumptions about my diet and made me feel like crap about my weight. I brought up Health concerns that I have been dealing with and he told me that he was done helping me. He refused to run tests, get a new weight on me, and wouldn't let me get 2 words in. Seems like he had his mind made up before he even came in the room. I am young, so I don't know if that has something to do with it? but I was treated horribly and do not recommend him. Looking for a new Rheumatologist.

I've been sober now for a few years with documentation of that , meetings etc…read more I'm so thankful for the day that I finally said that I could no longer go on living "that way." I gave up the idea that I had any chance of drinking successfully with my past history and where I was headed. Reluctantly , but desperate to change my life I started attending recovery meetings. I found that "some" of the people there had similarities to my alcoholism. More importantly I found that there were people there willing to help me in so many ways. I honestly don't think I could have made the changes in my life today without a good solid recovery program. With that being said I still had some wreckage from my past I was repairing. One of them was my driver's license. With the documentation I had built up and some letters of support from my recovery friends. I got a drug & alcohol assessment test done from someone I knew though recovery. It was a great assessment. Everything seemed to be in line to get my driver's license back. I was denied a full driver's license, but was given a restricted license with a interlock device for one year. (blow & go) I continued to get documentation from meetings as well as other recovery functions. I had the device for one year with no issues. It was time to apply again. I had some good documentation but needed another assessment. I called to make an appointment with the person I knew, only to find out he retired. I now had to find someone to give me an assessment who didn't even know me. I felt like I was at another roadblock on my path to restore my driver's license. I believe that my my first phone call was divine intervention because it was to Kiernan Gamel. He actually answered the phone when I called. In just a few minutes of talking with Kiernan I was at ease and I knew that I called the right person. In our initial conversation I found out that he knows recovery and he is the real deal. We set up a date for the assessment session that worked for both of us. While doing the assessment, Kiernan asked me some questions that were tough to answer, but I knew I had to be honest. He made it easy for me to do just that. The professional way which he conducted the assessment even impressed my attorney, which is hard to do. When it comes time to deal with the State of Michigan to restore your driving privileges, get the documentation of your sobriety. I can assure you that Kiernan will do a great job for you as he did for me. I look forward to helping others who may need help by sharing the experience I had with Kiernan.
