Ok, let me start with my complicated Orthodontics history…read more This is my 3rd time getting braces (ya, no kidding). My first braces experience in elementary school was with Orthodontics students due to budget concern -- of course that didn't go well and they started me on a second round treatment right afterward. The supervising dentist at the time even told me that I didn't need retainers. So after getting into my 30s, my teeth alignment is out of place again. Now I have open bite. So I decided to do braces again. I went to 2 other orthodontists for consultation before choosing Arlington Orthodontics. One was widely referred by colleagues but her practice was too far, and her quote wasn't as competitive. Another was way too pushy in selling their service and even told me they can expedite the process from 20 months to 14 months. If you know something about adult teeth, you never want to rush your Orthodontics treatment. It can cause the root of the teeth to shrink, which can result in tooth loss. Dr. Lind green was the only orthodontist who spent the resources to take dental X-ray and 3D scan of my teeth among all these consultation, and free of charge. He spent a good amount of time to explain how prior ortho treatment shortened my tooth root, and how he'd adjust treatment to me. He was honest up front that I may not be able to complete treatment should they find my root shortened to a dangerous length. (He said he'd X-ray my teeth to monitor treatment). I chose an honest orthodontist, knowing that I'd be in good hands. No other ortho has taken the time and patience to explain to me. After all, I am he one paying for the service! Oh, the reclining chair, AC, and music makes a good short nap during my braces appointments. Haha.

Upgrade more issues…read more Dentist. Lindgren also deliberately made my top teeth wider than my bottom teeth, resulting in misalignment. Now, all four top teeth have root canal issues, and the cost to fix this is over $20,000. On top of that, he used an intense light that left dark spots on my lips after drying the glue. It seems he did all this intentionally, with these problems only becoming apparent years later. I recorded all my visits and can provide proof if necessary. Dentist. Lindgren falsely claimed I cursed his staff, which is completely untrue. If I had, I would ask him to specify exactly what was said and to whom. I urge him to do the right thing. This behavior is unprofessional and immature. Dentist. John Lindgren and his wife, both highly educated and quick to defend themselves, seem skilled at deflecting criticism rather than addressing the real issues at hand. Despite their credentials, their behavior throughout my treatment was unprofessional and disrespectful.

If you have a complicated orthodontic case and/or are a likely candidate for maxillofacial surgery,…read moreyou cannot mess around with your everyday neighborhood orthodontist. You need someone who has dealt with hundreds and thousands of cases like yours -- and harder. You want to be a boring case for them, not the one complicated case they see in their entire career. And for all this, Dr. Klein is absolutely the person you're looking for. I did countless hours of research before originally going with her and I am so glad that I did. I'm part of a jaw surgery recovery group and I cannot tell you the number of horror stories I've read about people going to incompetent orthodontists who do not understand what they are looking at and do not understand that certain cases require surgery *and* orthodontic work combined. They just pull out teeth and put on regular braces that end up making situations way, way worse. I cannot underscore enough the importance of avoiding this. Not only can it be physically devastating but the psychological toll, as attested to by so many in this group, is extreme. As I mentioned, my own case is pretty much as complicated as they come. I ultimately had to get a bilateral total joint replacement (due to ICR), lower jaw surgery, Le Fort I osteotomy, septoplasty, etc. It goes on. The surgery itself was over 12 hours. Dr. Klein saw this the first time I went to her office. She knew exactly what we needed to do. And from that moment through the entire crazy thing - having to switch surgeons four times (!) - she has been the only constant. (A tale for another time but long story short, my first surgeons - surgeons at MGH! - were absolutely incompetent and awful. It was awful and I HIGHLY recommend avoiding them. Dr. Klein helped me end up with one of the best surgeons in the country for my surgery instead, even though he wasn't at MGH [which is where she was at the time]. She and the surgeon I ultimately went with were in constant contact. They could text each other!) Honestly, she's incredible. I have literally never met a doctor who cares more about her patients than Dr. Klein. And more than just "cared" but actually put in who knows how many hours figuring out how to achieve the best outcome. She gave me her cell to call. She always made time for me, though constantly busy. And she advocated for me. Go with Dr. Klein.

These days I have very little time to dress and shower forget about writing a review but when it…read morecomes to Katie Klein Orthodontics, I had to speak up. I am so sad that my two older sons did not have the opportunity to be patients with this practice. But I am SO grateful that my youngest son, who not only has sensory issues but who struggles tremendously with challenging, new experiences let alone ones that are not always very comfortable or pleasant, has had Katie and her staff for his braces journey. This practice is a more than a giant head and shoulders above the other two experiences I have had with orthodontists. The others were kind, professional and got the job done. ?!?! So, why is Katie so much better? It is hard to put into words how caring, honest, skilled and straightforward this practitioner is without seeming to be exaggerating. But I kid you not... she is the genuine article. Let's start with her ability to make it all look easy. The place is relaxed, clean and as she is chatting away like a good friend you are watching her expertly navigate your child's mouth and any trace of anxiety or discomfort. She makes incredibly difficult tasks look effortless and she smiles through it all. And of course, we need to talk about money. It is transparent from the get go. Financial plans and options are made available and you truly understand not only the cost but the cost benefit... every step of the way. Nothing is hidden, disguised or short-changed. And the highest quality of care is just her standard. What you are hoping for, as well as the reality of achieving this end result with realistic timing of outcomes, are explained clearly and expertly. Even more importantly, your child will be heard, attended to, motivated, supported and ultimately successful at Katie Klein. It is all the somewhat invisible intangibles.... A beyond accommodating front desk staff, frequent appointment reminders and yet no guilt or shame inducing practices when appointments are accidentally forgotten or simply missed due to a myriad of circumstances. It is all the big tangibles. You have an emergency? Or need a last minute appointment? You are not told they accommodated you. You are simply accommodated. Katie Klein and her practice are different, because she is that lightning in a bottle kind of Doctor. Real, compassionate, excellent, hardworking, non-judgmental and true to her word and ethics. You want her in your life. Your teeth and/or your child's teeth will thank you. Sure, you may leave many orthodontists with an externally beautiful smile. But it's the smile on your face that comes from working with a true heart that cares for you and your loved ones from the outside and the inside, that stays with you from here.
