We would have regretted it if we did not have video (No Ka Oi specifically) there. For anyone on the fence, make room in your budget NOW! We booked him about a month before the wedding, and luckily he was still available. We really appreciated that he made the effort to get to know us and our style with the short notice. When we finally decided yes on video, it was him or no one! He stood out to me because of how colorful and upbeat his videos are. This resonates with him too! Caleb is a very down to earth and joyful person. Him and his video assistant, Summer, made us feel super comfortable. I loved how they captured us and our guests naturally and put together an awesome video of how fun the evening was. Your wedding goes by so fast. There is so much love and energy that we were overstimulated and you can't be everywhere at once! It was very helpful to have Caleb and Summer fill in our blanks and video moments we missed. We had such a great time working with NoKaOi Video and highly recommend it to everyone!

We couldnt be happier with our videos and I have probably watched it over 50 times. Highly recommend No Ka Oi Films!

I was referred to John through a friend who also had pictures taken with Lahaina Photography. She sent me his website where I tried to contact him, but kept receiving an error message. Instead, I reached out to John via Lahaina Photography's Facebook page listed on their website. I sent a private message and John was quick to respond setting up a date. We had one phone call to arrange locations. While John is located in Lahaina, I was staying in Kihei. He was nice enough to meet our family early Saturday morning just after sunrise in Kihei. It was a fun, casual photo shoot. I have a 16 month old daughter so I wasn't really interested in something too formal. John was very patient with my daughter. She did go into full tantrum mode (for most of the shoot ugh!) and he handled it with such patience. We ended up getting a few great shots of her as well as us as a family. I enjoyed speaking with John about island life, his adventures growing up on the island as well as his former military life where he learned to take professional photos. His rates are also incredibly reasonable. I would absolutely recommend John and Lahaina Photography. Within a couple days, I received a few edited pictures from him through a link on his website. Within a week I had all images some edited, some raw through a link on his website. He also mails all (100+) images on CD. This was a super fun addition to our trip and I'm glad we were able to capture some pics of our first vacay as a family! Also, he takes CC or cash.

He suggested a beautiful location that we would not have found otherwise and on the day of our photo shoot he was early and met us exactly where we expected. I thought we'd spend about 30 minutes with him, but he spent much more time with us and took hundreds of pictures. He was very patient with our children and took beautiful pictures of them acting natural (not posed). After the photo shoot, he got the digital pictures to us in a really reasonable amount of time. Our family pictures turned out beautiful and we could not be more happy! I'm hoping we can return to Maui in a few years and we will definitely contact John again for updated pictures!

We had such a great experience with Matthew and Madelynne at Maui Creative Photography. My main point of contact was with Matthew. He was great at getting back to me with questions and recommended a lovely/uncrowded beach for us to take our sunset pictures. Both Madelynne and Matthew are so personable. They made my teen/tween daughters and 7 year old son feel at ease and they had fun during the photo shoot! I just received all the images yesterday and am so happy with pictures! What a great way to capture the memories of this magical island! Thank you Matthew and Madelynne!

I admittedly looked into things later than I should have and was relieved when Matthew told me he was available the day before we departed back to the Mainland. We opted for a 2-hour sunset session as I wanted to capture some of those beautiful Hawaiian shave-ice colored skies! We were pleasantly surprised when both Matthew and Madelynne showed up -- I wasn't expecting a second shooter! My husband is a bit shy/nervous in front of the camera, but these two made it so fun and easy! (In fact, after the trip my husband admitted the photography session was a major highlight of our vacation!) They were great at directing and open to ideas. They also gave us a few moments to enjoy the sunset to ourselves which made for some great candid shots. They have an excellent eye for capturing both expressions, moments, and of course, the breathtaking landscape of Hawaii. (definitely check out their website and blog -- they have the ability to capture lovely images at all times of day -- early morning, midday, sunset, and even the beautiful starlit sky) We started out in the early evening at our hotel and moved down to a secluded beach later for the sunset session. I honestly did not know exactly what to expect, but after receiving the images (super quick to boot - the turn around time for our session was about a week!!!) I was FLOORED - - I loved just about every single picture. Their style is so unique and unexpected...sophisticated, artistic yet accessible, playful and romantic. You'll definitely have a few pictures that you'll want to blow up and hang above the fireplace! :) For the quality of work you are getting, they are a STEAL. After doing some other research online, I am convinced they are one of the best on the island. I was also quite pleased with their response time -- communicating and coordinating was easy. Although Matthew and Madelynne aren't natives, they really do embody the spirit of the islands -- they are incredibly knowledgeable about island history (in fact, aside from their photography, I think they also do tours!) and spiced up our session with fun facts about Maui and the surrounding islands. (bonus!) Much Aloha goes out to Matthew and Madelynne from Maui Creative Photography! We are incredibly grateful for the beautiful pictures and memories. Book them while you can!!!

We are from Dallas, TX, so we did all of our searching online. One of the first things that really stood out to us was her beautiful website!!! We loved that she had a video about herself that showed us her sweet personality and we could definitely see how much she loves what she does. It didn't take us long to know that she is who we wanted to capture our wedding day. Once we had our date with her reserved 4.26.18 (next year - so excited!), we were also able to plan a separate trip to Maui just a month ago where Natalie was available to take our engagement photos. We gave her a little insight about us and the type of couple we are. She recommended the perfect beach to meet her at and even a spot for dinner afterwards. Once we actually met her, we loved her instantly. We weren't quite sure what to expect and thought we might be a little awkward. I will admit that it took us a second to warm up to the camera being on us, but Natalie made us feel so comfortable. We are not the couple that has perfect smiles on cue, and most of our best pics are candids. Natalie did an EXCELLENT job at capturing these for us. After a short while, we didn't even feel like we were on a shoot, but rather just having fun with each other. Not once did she make us feel pressured on time, and she took sooo many pictures. Even as we were getting ready to part ways, she stopped us for a last minute picture that she couldn't pass up. Part of having our engagements done was to have some photos for our Save the Dates and she had a few of her favorites sent over within two days. She let us know it would be a couple of weeks to get all the images back, and we were so excited once we finally received them. We were blown away by the amount of amazing photos she captured. She definitely knows how to get the best of the natural lighting and capturing our personalities. We can't wait to have Natalie with us on our wedding day and would recommend her for any occasion. You will be in great hands and have THE best pictures!

I asked her a ton of questions regarding the wedding photography process and what to expect at our venue (since we aren't local). She was so detailed in explaining everything and was flexible with working around our wedding schedule. Being a very Type A person myself, I went through her gorgeous portfolio beforehand and let her know what resonated the most with us. We just got married last week, so we don't have all our photos yet, but she sent us a sneak peek of 35 photos just 4 days after the wedding and she nailed it by capturing special moments and beautiful details. The day of the wedding, she was right on time and snapping away. We had her for 8 hours and her lovely assistant Angie joined for part of that time. They were a great team. Multiple guests told us after the wedding how wonderful they were and how it was clear they were making sure all the guests were accounted for. Throughout the day, she was so polite and understanding, suggesting times to take 'romantics' but flexible with timing if we wanted to mingle with our guests. She really has an eye for beauty as she was able to find beautiful poses in our stunning setting at Sugarman Estate. She said she was married there as well so she must know it very well! What I really appreciate is that she truly went above and beyond. This beautiful woman was 5 months pregnant and that didn't stop her from zipping around taking photos, and even at one point, laying on the dance floor to take a crowd shot. She is so committed. She also pulled us aside and said that since she knew how much photography meant to us, she wanted to try some special time lapse stuff. We haven't seen those yet but I loved that she was so proactive. Of all the hundreds of decisions we made for our wedding, choosing Natalie was one of the best, hands down. We adore her work and cannot wait to see the full set of wedding photos. Of which she said there are about 800! Cannot wait!
