John Pallotta is a complete SCAM. He has a "cult" following of older actors who literally do not know any better, but to listen to what he has to say. He's posted on so many scam websites, so many sexual assault claims against him. I was in his class for a month or so and one of his male students he was extremely close to tried to sexually assault me and I left this class without word. John joked about how he promised a woman a part and when she didn't get it she went to a lawyer and cried out "sexual abuse" he has many claims like this and he is EXTREMLEY CREEPY. He had dinner with a friend of mine from class and brought his "producer" friend along. When John left the table to go smoke outside, his friend was touching my friend on the leg and basically telling her she won't ever get a part until she starts to be more comfortable with nudity. He said to her and I quote "there are so many pretty black girls that would be comfortable getting naked on camera. You won't stand out if you don't do the same" I'm pretty sure John and his "friends" act this way towards woman all the time as well. There are so many beautiful female actors out there that have stories about him and his different "friends". Everyone please be careful. John is DISGUSTING. A COMPLETE LIAR. and no he wont help you get auditions and hes never worked with Oscar winners. He once filmed Meryl Streep without her consent and he legally had to take the video down. He's a creep and Meryl Streep even knows it. PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY. Im 23 and I was pretty dumb and almost got hurt along with my friend. When you're young and new to this acting world...people will take advantage. John always claims so many people are after him because hes so talented and other coaches are "jealous" but listen if this review was fake I would be posting where I currently take classes now. CREEPY, UNPROFESSIONAL & FRAUD!! I CANNOT believe this guy is STILL teaching!! When I took his class he was very flirtatious with all the women in our class, including myself! he even had a creepy friend, blond hair crew cut hairdo, short guy with blue eyes and wore a crystal around his neck. I think his name was john too, I don't remember but he advertised himself as a "manager". After our monologue to these so called "managers" in the audience..the creepy friend, invited me and another female friend to "go over our headshot and resumes" in his office in the herald sq area and we noticed it was a small office that had a pull out couch and bathroom that had a shower in it..we thought that was weird. We asked if he lived there he said no but it very much looked like he did as we also saw a bag of clothes in the corner. I made up that I had somewhere to be and we BOTH left. We noticed they'd pass their female students along to each other promising auditions and parts in their films, later on to get calls at all hours of the night and them prying into our personal lives, asking if we had boyfriends. I had coffee with some of the women in my class and we all exchanged really disturbing stories about him. One of them, we've noticed john constantly talking about her "large" boyfriend in class so we asked her what THAT was about and she said she had to bring her large male friend with her to class because he asked her out in the beginning of class. We've also heard how he promised a girl from his previous class, she would be a lead in his indie movie, ended up sleeping with her and then ignored her and there was no movie! I just dropped out and so have they. We complained to the office but apparently it went on def ears since this jerk is still in business! You'd think with the "metoo" movement going on, these disgusting pathetic pervs would stop but then again, guys like that can't help themselves. I came in from the west coast and had a bucket list of coaches, casting workshops and industry that I wanted to meet and my time was extremely limited. John Pallotta was on that list or instructors that was given to me from my mentor in San Francisco. I heard mixed reviews good and not so, but my mentor praises him so thought I would give it a try. Entered his classroom as an auditor via and Eventbrite invite not sure if I would be working and just auditing. He is indeed one of the most truthful, No BS coaches that I have ever met. He has a zero tolerance for cell phones in class and lateness (unless you text him) but thats the way it should be in classes - at least the classes that I've attended. He makes no promises like others and likes that fact that he tells you like it is. On another note what I liked and what really stood out was the fact that he is ten, twenty steps ahead of you. He gets my 5 or 6 internal monologues rolling inside driving my outward character. He took actors that had no clue and gave them amazing insight. At the same time he has professionals in his class that he pushes to the max. His master actors were given a script/scene, read it, told to be off book in 30 minutes and we actually shot the scene in several takes right outside on the street with cameras, lighting and wireless mics. I Search of The Greater Truth with John Pallotta I have taken many classes both in LA and now home in NYC. As John Pallotta says their are all the methods, books, theories that you have to choose from, but to be honest you do what works for YOU. As he say's: What ever works in search of the "Greater Truth". I admire Mr Pallotta because he has studied everything directly from Lee Strasberg, Uta Hagen, Robert Lewis and many others. Two weeks ago I audited an on Camera Class from Eventbrite with master On Camera acting coach John Pallotta at John Pallotta Studio in New York City. His methods/techniques and process was different then anything that I have seen before and was nothing short of truly amazing. I studied in college as well as various on camera teachers throughout the years but felt I was nit getting what I needed. John Pallotta put all of us in front of the camera and with a velvet whip gave us tools I never before though existed. His focus was Concentrated Character Development, Sightline and playing the opposite, (as he called it). I can honestly say I learned more in one brief afternoon with John then all of my years at other classes combined. A tough, kind and caring teacher. My daughter and i were searching for classes that were right on point for what we were interested in. We got a Groupon for both of us online to attend his ongoing classes. Mr Pallotta put us on camera right away and got us both comfortable and rolling the first day. Even though we only had the lesser Groupon class he still filmed and edited out scenes and we had something great for our eventual reels. I went to John's Philly class but posting here. John is a very caring yet demanding teacher, one might say he carries a velvet whip. He not only puts you in front of the camera but multiple cameras at the same time. He taught me how to be well grounded, focused and make choices that count in front of the camera when it matters the most, (in front of a casting director). His studio is a super large artist loft that is set up like a film studio. The work on scenes and eventually film them like a movie of TV show. Probably the toughest teacher your ever gonna meet. He is a no Bull S..t kind of guy that has Emmy winners drop by class and breaks down their scene's and work just like everyone else. He means well and is geared towards the advanced actor. He has not tolerance for what he calls - microwave wanna be movie stars. I like that he tosses wanna bees outta class and has free casting director one on ones for his people. he is steran and as real about the industry as they get. That teacher said horrible things about John (which were not true) and encouraged us to tell others out of jealousy.
