Was referred by my dentist to them. Really rather awful experience. I will never return.

Fantastic dentist and staff. I've had two implants done here. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Caring and thorough.

I really don't like leaving negative reviews for something that could be so easily resolved, but…read morebecause Frenchtown dental won't do their part I really feel like I need to put this review out there for the community. I've gone to Frenchtown dental for multiple cleanings, 2 fillings, and brought my son here for his first cleaning when he was about 1 1/2 years old. Dr Sanders seemed rushed during my cleaning, which should have been the first red flag. When I came back with my son, she spent a total of two minutes in the room with us bushing my son's teeth how I normally brush them at home. Mind you, my son was not fussy or squirmy at all, so I didn't see the point to rushing his first professional cleaning. Because my son has a Gemini tooth, which is something I've never heard of or dealt with, I had a couple questions. She seemed genuinely annoyed I stopped her from rushing out of the room and gave very short answers so that she could leave the room and proceed to her next patient. I saw Dr Grant for my next cleaning and one of my fillings and it was night and day. He was extremely kind and very understanding when I had questions and took the time to give thoughtful answers about my specific situation. The biggest problem comes with the billing department. This is an out of network provider for me, so I was aware that there would be some out-of-pocket cost. For my son, who I did not have dental insurance for at the time, it was $180 for the two minutes that Dr. Sanders was in the room. That's on me, I won't make the mistake of bringing my kids here in the future. The cleanings and fillings that I had done totaled somewhere in the ballpark of a couple hundred bucks, but the billing department and the Front Desk refused (and still refuse to this day) to print out an itemized statement for me. They're claiming that my dental insurance only paid out $4 for cleanings. Even for out-of-network, that's asinine. I asked in person twice for an itemized statement and I've asked three or four times over the phone, and I have yet to receive an itemized statement. If you're going to tell me my insurance has only paid out $4 for a standard service, show me so that I can contact my insurance to ask them what the deal is. Every single statement I received in the mail informing me I had a balance due was completely blank except for the balance, so every single time I received a statement in the mail I called to request an itemized statement. When they called me last week to collect the balance, I paid it to get it over with and I asked again for an itemized statement. Frenchtown dental is the only dentist office, and the only provider in general, that I have ever had a hard time getting an itemized statement from to see what I'm actually being billed for and why. The dental hygienists and Dr Grant have been lovely to work with, and I would continue to see them if it weren't for such an incompetent billing staff.

Dental management can't just explain how they want to gouge you (especially seniors) because "it's…read moreall important to pay up front for problems they exaggerate". The good and honest workers there are likely unaware of the backend 'GRIFTING' of the ownership. I would hope they get some empathy to manage their service with each person's insurance.
