I usually give average reviews and never poor ones. But I am so upset with Pete Atlewine and their…read moreemployee, Chris AND service in general. We ordered a hot tub cover that took awhile to get delivered. Could be from Hurricane Helene. That was ok with us. But then we needed a new Hot Tub Lift because ours was rusted out. We bought and paid for a new Hot Tub Cover Lift. The day they were supposed install, they left a phone message saying, it would be delayed. No problem. HOWEVER, Chris called on the 20th of Feb saying he would be there on the 21st at 0800-0900. He showed up at 0830 and said he would be done in 20 minutes. We went out just to see the new lift kit after he left without saying a word, and found that he only replaced one part of it and used the OLD parts of it. Plus he left his trash outside and did not take the old lift. WE PAID FOR A TOTAL NEW LIFT KIT!!!!! We called Pete Atlewine, confirmed it by them that we paid for a new kit.Chris called us back and said the sometimes they use parts from other kits to replace (????). What, was he saying they don't buy new parts and use refurbished ones??? Chris said he would call us back in a few to get it straightened out. Chris did say "well if you want me to replace it I will." We told him we paid for a NEW one WE wanted a NEW one. What was he hiding???? NEVER HEARD back from him. Never hear heard back from Pete Atlewine either even after a phone call. We FINALLY called at 2:00pm to see where we were at and had to leave a message. Service only took messages as they were busy. We are so disappointed in Pete Atlewine's service when it came to this lift kit. Chris came to our house mad to install it the evening, slamming things on top of hot tub cover, with a chip on his chip his shoulder and truly we know this is not the company for us. So disappointed. We have been with Pete Atlewine for years and the service has just flopped. Sad. Then when he was done with everything, replacing lift kit, he said he was sorry, but still left with an attitude, again chip on his shoulder. PLEASE PETE YOU CAN DO BETTER.

We have had several issues over the years with Pete Alewine Pools and especially the Service…read moreManager Charles. His behavior and customer service attitude is by far the worst we have ever delt with. One of the biggest issues with Pete Alewine Pools was in January 2024 when we received a $2,000 water bill. We had previously spoken with the pool technician and gave him permission to add water to pool since it naturally evaporates and cleaning could also drain water. He assured us he would turn the water off when done. When we got the water bill I did research with the water department and they pinpointed the date and time the water was turned on (and turned off). I called Charles and spoke to him about issue as the only people at house would have been the pool technician. Charles of course stated it was not his technician and completely refused to take any responsibility. Since we had no proof, we dropped the issue and worked out an agreement with the water department. It still cost us over $1500. The next issue was when we were told we had to replace our sand filter with the new cartridge type. This would have cost over $3,000. We declined. Next issue was yesterday. Due to us not being home and lack of ability to add water to pool the pool water is below the scupper. I called Charles at Pete Aelwine and he told me the valves had been adjusted to internally circulate the water without going through scupper intake. Due to this and low water, our buyer immediately thought there was a huge leak in the pool. After a leak test it was determined that the pool had no major leaks and there was a very very small leak in a grout line on the decorative tile at top of pool. It was determined this could have been caused by allowing calcium buildup and then scraping with wire pool brush and grout coming out. This issue was not huge and we shrugged it off. However, when the agent and buyer attempted to turn on the pool/spa heater it did not work. I was FaceTimed and asked if water was running through the heater. The agent and buyer could not tell. I called Charles and asked to send someone out to look at it. I was told there would be a service charge. On Wednesday, the technician (Dustin I think) came out to look at it. I do not know what he did, but he told both the agent and buyer that the heater was bad and needed to be replaced. He not only quoted $5,000 he also to the buyer that the heater was obsolete and discontinued. As one could imagine, this created a huge problem with the buyer and could have possibly caused us to lose the sale of our home. (We still do not know if this can be rectified due to the Pete Alewine technician saying the heater was obsolete and discontinued.) Today I spoke with the leak technician and asked about the pool heater. He informed me that he was curious about it himself as the heater was the "MOST POPULAR AND COMMON HEATER AROUND". It was covered by our deck and out of direct sunlight and wind. He took it upon himself to readjust the valves and miraculously the heater came on and started to heat the water. He explained to me that there are flow meters and if the system does not have enough water flowing into it then it will not work. Hence my asking the agent and buyer if they saw water flowing through it. I am now told our heater works completely fine and does not have to be replaced. We are currently not living at house and rely on your help and service to maintain our pool. We believed we could trust Pete Alewine. Unfortunately, it seems our trust may have been unfounded. What is extremely troubling out of all of this is the following: I called Pete Alewine to discuss this last issue with the pool heater. I also had videos of the pool showing white particles on the bottom, which clearly showed the pool had not been cleaned in a while. I used to get text messages or emails telling me when the technician was at the home cleaning the pool and when he left. I no longer receive them. I got in touch with the GA office and spoke with someone there who told me to send an email with the videos and explain what happened. I did exactly what she told me to do. I got a call from Charles a few hours later and he was very upset on the phone. He told me they did not break my heater (no one claimed they did) and that he had spoken with the owner Mr. Alewine and they now have decided to remove me as a customer and no longer service my pool. WOW!!!! Once again Charles's customer service and attitude is below anything we have ever seen from what we thought was a reputable company. Not only will they try to rip you off on your service and repairs, if you catch them at it, they then fire you and no longer want to service your pool. I would never recommend them to anyone.

Took you over 60 days to find a leak in the pool. * The level of unprofessionalism and the many times we have wasted the day waiting for you (no call no show was a habit with you). * Did you think you can just leave this job in complete mess and not call for 2 weeks? We still have concrete on windows, house, air-conditioner and in the yard (for many months, no attempt to clean) Concrete finish is uneven on the border underneath house. Concrete has a huge drop near edge, Needs dirt to be filled otherwise it will not sustain Residue from plastic left up to long on house. Pool light looks terrible with all the uneven white stuff around it Still have concrete on sides of pool Wrinkles present in liner No instructions on how to take care of pool. No instruction how to use pump. Handle on stairs not safe very unsteady. Leak in return was fixed with epoxy. Epoxy is a temporary fix. The electrical was not up to code and we had to have electrician come back to install GFCI circuit breakers and install ground wire that Caleb was suppose to install. We have been having to go to Elite Pools on a bi-weekly basis to have the water tested and purchase chemicals because we have not been properly shown how to do that. Our yard is a complete disaster. A huge lump of dirt and sod was left right in the middle of it. We had to bring in American Leak Detection in to check for leaks because the information that you provided and the information that we obtained from The Drain Surgeon (Rooster), was not the same and had discrepancies. American Leak Detection's report came back that there were no leaks however did state that the epoxy was just a temporary fix. They also stated that on the floor of the deep end there were a couple small stones popping up in the liner and that may cause issues at a later time

I contacted ASP Swimming pools in August 2018 due to a dying pool filtration system, and to convert…read morefrom chlorine to salt filtration GM came out, and installed new timer, salt chlorine generator (the very expensive ichlor30) and new intermatic timer in late august. He told me I'd need to clean the salt chlorine generator every 3 months in muriatic acid, or it could damage the salt chlorine generator. 2 months after installation (early October) the salt chlorine generator went defective. GM came out and said it didn't look like like a manufacturers defect. The ASP GM said he would call pentair (the ichlor manufacturer) and just tell them the system stopped working. they had a discussion and decided to replace the ichlor salt chlorine generator - though that didn't happen till late October. also the timer on the intermatic system went defective during this time for reasons that were never made clear to me. the intermatic unit worked, but the timer dial inside it, did not. i had to manually turn the system off/on. After ASP replaced the salt chlorine generator and intermatic pool timer, they installed an "indoor" intermatic timer that was certified for the wrong voltage. i didn't figure this out till i called my electrician and he had discovered it. ASP's general manager said he didn't agree with my electrician even though he never explained why, and even though my electrician was correct --- the intermatic timer clearly said "for indoor use only" and also showed that it was rated for the wrong voltage on the sticker inside the intermatic unit. Reluctantly ASP came out just before thanksgiving while i was out of town and replaced the intermatic timer again. when i got home a few days after they installed the 3rd intermatic timer --- it once again did not work. the intermatic unit was an outdoor unit this time, but the timer was again defective. i called ASP and even though the timer was under warranty, they said they would not replace it again because it "was not a manufacturers defect". i asked the GM to explain how it wasn't a manufacturers defect, but he couldn't provide me an answer, and refused to fix it unless i paid him the price of another unit "in good faith" -- whatever the heck that means. in good faith they should honor the warranties of the defective products they sell and treat their customers better. The ASP GM said the labor was getting too expensive. i told him that while i understood the costs associated to labor, that it was an expensive for me to have paid them so much money and get so little return on what i thought was going to be a good investment. ASP's GM failed to deliver me the quality product he sold me on. after a few days stalemate, I realized i had no options or higher authority to report this complaint to, and he wasn't about to help anymore... so i reluctantly agreed to pay the price for another new timer. When the ASP technician came out to replace the intermatic timer for the 4th time my ichlor salt chlorine generator was working fine that morning. after the tech replaced the timer, my salt chlorine generator unit appeared to lose power. i contacted ASP about this and they said my salt chlorine generator was "defective". ‍ so let me guess - my fault again, right? i let the GM know that i was unhappy with their service and that he better not try to blame me again, which is apparently all ASP is good at (blaming the customer for either bad technicians or bad products). surprisingly, ASP actually decided to honor a manufacturer's warranty without hassle! i had to pinch myself. they actually came out and fixed something that they broke. so they did end up replacing the salt chlorine generator - i'm now on my 3rd one now (as of February 2019), and the new intermatic timer that i have paid for twice (the fourth one in 6 months) installed 2 weeks ago... once again doesn't have a working timer. the timer dial works when i turn it on, but it stops working once it turns off. it is supposed to work around the clock as long as electricity is running to it. So that is my experience with ASP. they have tried to lead me to believe that i am the only customer who has ever had problems with their service or the malfunctioning products. Who knows, maybe i am - but to have this many problems, i think it may not be a coincidence, and perhaps i am not the only customer out there that has had a bad experience with them. i'm really disappointed in the customer service that i have received from ASP, considering i've spent well over $4,000 on their equipment and services. I am only putting this out there in case anyone else has had a similar experience and hasn't shared it, and to hopefully help someone avoid a similar situation.
