Over the past several months, my grandmother has been coming to this location in Rhinebeck, NY and I am always asked to bring her there. Now, with her last visit last week Friday being easier than I expected thanks to my mom helping me help her complete the required every-visit forms, I watched the transaction a bit. Now, I didn't go in, but from what I was told, her experience (and she's 88 years old) rather fluctuated in this experience, she told us adamantly that her former foot care doctor in Hudson (who's now retired and deceased) did more stuff to care for her feet than this place did (including cleaning the corns and calluses on her feet), but they did take care of some of the required foot cleaning and clipping of her toenails (which grow beyond where they should rather quickly). While she was in for the five minute quick routine visit, I ended up listening to another pair of older folks try to complete their paperwork. The one older folk was a former Navy person and couldn't understand the rather basic abbreviations we newer generation folks take as a norm (such as ST for state and DOB for date of birth), while this guys help was aging herself. Now, in past times when I encountered these forms, I knew what they meant so it was easy for me to fill out (with some problems when it came to billing), but seeing this experience of others made me think again : was I really seeing this form as easy now when most of your clients are older folks? I don't think so. We'll continue to come back, because there are few places that care for feet near us, but perhaps you could make these forms a little easier to understand for your clients or keep paperwork in the system and if anything else changes, have a sign up for new paperwork to be completed upon a change. Don't make your clients fill out a brand new one every time they come in for a visit. read more
