Greetings! My name is Katie, and this is my one hundred percent super honest review of our very…read morefirst trip (with our second appointment already scheduled) to Wash Park Pediatric Dentistry. First and foremost, my son Noah is eight years old and diagnosed with severe Autism. He also has a history of traumatic dental visit experiences. Both occurred during toddlerhood while residing in Texas. It was in fact a pediatric dentist office. Anywho. Oh my goodness, y'all! Noah did so incredibly well (for him) during the entire visit!!! I must admit I wasn't expecting him to tolerate more than about five minutes of anything due to his immense sensory + anxiety issues. I was pretty prepared of the possibility we may end up leaving right after arriving, but the office itself is so inviting. Noah immediately dove and dropped to his knees in front of the tiny little kitchen with the cute play food. Poor Bob his beloved brand new cuddle buddy Minion thrown and discarded beside him. I was able to speak with the lovely front office staff without any interruption or distraction. A Mom exhale, if you will. Whew! Our dental hygienist was named Lauren, and she was absolutely amazing with my son. She's a complete gem! Beyond actually! Noah wanted very little to do with me while Lauren was near. I was the one assigned to the receiving end his frustrations of having to be somewhere he didn't want to be experiencing new sensations he didn't want to particularly experience. We all know that feeling. :) I'm pretty certain my adoptive Mom would confirm I did the same exact thing to her growing up. Lauren's voice is extraordinarily calming, so Noah was as relaxed as he's capable of being. She ever so kindly informed Noah of every single step prior to, introduced him to her tools "friends" plus asked Noah if he'd like to feel each one in the order of being utilized on his finger. Noah felt so relaxed and in complete control of the entire situation he was in. This is always of major importance to him. Lauren had Noah raising his hand for any breaks needed, allowing time to sneak in Minecraft moves on Mom's phone (oh how I tried to put it away), involving Bob the Minion in our appointment, redirecting kindly to Bluey playing on the tv on the ceiling and placing the phone down for just a second. I loved how she reminded him to take deep breaths (and we all did simultaneously together) during his cleaning. Dr. Patrick was just as amazing! Zero complaints from this Mom. Noah took to him instantaneously which is almost a no go every single time when it comes to a new adult especially a doctor of any kind. He's very apprehensive with new people in general for the exception of children. Dr. Patrick was so informative regarding Noah's teeth, gums, etc. He really allowed me to become so much more educated + knowledgeable when it comes to pediatric dentistry in general. Well, as much as a Mom brain can comprehend + retain. I didn't feel rushed at all with any questions or concerns. Dr. Patrick was extremely easy to talk to, and his demeanor was super down to earth. He really has a great vibe which is of major importance in my opinion. He's also very professional yet totally chill which is refreshing. I felt truly at ease as the patient's parent. I forgot to mention how well Noah did with the x-rays thanks to Lauren yet again! Phenomenal!!! We all know how bizarre it feels to bite down on that guard thingie. :) The office is so so so new inside. Oh, and may I add pristinely neat and clean. The interior designer I believe was from out of Oregon. I found it modern, cozy and interesting to take in. It's a very comfortable place to be. An absolute overall relaxed chill environment. This is very important to Noah. He's so observant + opinionated. The prize setup on the way out was a major hit!!! Noah picked out a squishy chocolate glazed donut with sprinkles (So presh!!!) and a sticker of Raya. He's still stoked about 24 hours later when it comes to his prizes. This office is very accommodating like I've never honestly experienced with Noah before or in my 45 years on this planet. I'd most definitely recommended Dr. Patrick and his staff of greatness to any special needs parent/grandparent/guardian that's reading this especially, but honestly anyone really that's looking for the best of the best with specific needs or tastes. If you're picky, go here!!! With peace and love!

I found Dr. Carlson-Marks by accident while searching for a second opinion after our previous…read moredentist told us my son needed $2800 in dental work for his BABY TEETH!!! We visited Children's Dentistry of Cherry Creek for that second opinion and were so impressed by EVERYTHING about the office that we returned to our original dentist. There are so many reasons why they are the best pediatric dentist office in Denver - hands down, but here are just a few... 1) The Staff - Every person in that office from the receptionist to the dental assistants to Dr Carlson-Marks herself are kind, helpful and SO GREAT TO THE KIDS as well as the parents. Instead of flashing fake smiles and then seeming mildly irritated by the kids and their parents, the staff here are genuine and engage with your children with kindness, interest and respect. Obviously kids don't love everything that happens to them at the dentist, but instead of just putting a Netflix screen in front of them so that the staff can pretend your kids don't exist, the staff here engage with the kids, get feedback, and help the kids to get through whatever needs to be done with genuine care and consideration. 2) Their Methods - There is an emphasis on prevention here, not on getting you to shell out huge amounts of cash to fix cavities that are just going to keep occurring because the root cause was never addressed. The first thing that happens every time my kids are called back for their appointments here is that they brush their teeth for the dental assistant and are then given tips on what they can do better. Our previous dentist, who charged more than double the price of this office for routine exams, never once in the 3-4 check ups my boys had there ever showed my boys how to properly brush their teeth. 3) Conservative Approach - Dr. Carlson-Marks is perfectly happy to try the wait-and-see approach rather than rushing into drastic procedures for teeth that are going to naturally fall out in the next few years anyway. She's still thorough and will advise when action genuinely needs to be taken, but when she does you can be sure her recommendation is based on what your child needs and not how much money the office will make. 4) Honest and Fair - You won't be charged massive amounts of money when you have to pop in because your kid's tooth is aching or was chipped. If you aren't receiving lengthy treatments, they don't bill you heaps of money just for stopping by the office. And in general, their prices are so reasonable that I almost feel guilty paying so little for such phenomenal care. 5) Appointments and Wait Time - It isn't impossible to get in when dental emergencies strike, and you usually won't be waiting in the lobby an hour after your appointment time. 6) Flexible and Holistic - Whatever your angle (traditional or more conservative/natural approach), they will accommodate you, offer options that work for you, and treat you with respect. I am so happy I found this office and you will be too.

A very well run children's dental office. Everyone is highly concerned for your child's dental…read moreneeds. It's clean, it's friendly, it's quiet so children can feel relaxed. There's coffee for parents, toys for kids and each dental chair has it's own tv with Netflix so your child can pick their favorite movie. After being brought back to the dental chairs by a friendly assistant, with the welcome for the 'parent' to join their hesitant child, I followed dutifully. After a few minutes my son felt right at home and requested to watch, 'The Walking Dead.' There were two ladies who asked, 'are you sure?' Whatever it takes to relax, is my opinion, although hearing a request for, 'The Exorcist,' would have gotten a hands down, "NO!' My son immediately relaxed and told me to leave. Sitting in the waiting room, I watched the dentist walk out with her young patient after a procedure, and sit down with the parent to discuss everything, and very highly concerned for the child's pain issues; also complimenting bravery as well. Other parents near me were calm and confident in their child's care. As all parents must multi task these days, I was able to handle two business calls while I waited. One call required more decision making, and it was not until I was halfway through my call, that I realized talking with my hands is not polite society, nor speaking loudly. Thanks to the stares from my fellow human beings nearby, and my late mother, who's memory continues to remind me of my manners, my brain thought, 'Merci beau coup,' and I sat on my hands. Then I realized I could not communicate, because of my late father's Brooklyn upbringing, which requires hand gestures during conversation.. So in the world of compromise, I scratched my head. And hopefully nobody assumed there were creatures in my hair. This place is very popular because they are very good. Keep in mind last minute cancellation has a $100.00 cancellation fee. Enough to make everyone remember their appointment.

I recently had a visit and wanted to update my review to reflect their new Covid protocol. They ask you to print out and fill out a paper saying that you have not left the country or traveled within the country (etc.) for the last two weeks. They ask that you self report any symptoms on that form. I like that they ask these questions, but wish that it was electronic for two reasons: 1. The more we have to carry and handle the better chance we have of passing germs along to one another that hitch rides on said items. 2. It seems unnecessary to have to use paper and ink in this day when we have such technological advances that would work equally as well. You are asked to arrive at your exact appointment time. You are asked to wear a mask. There are spots marked outside the building where you are called in one by one to have your temp taken, and for the person taking your temp to ask you some of the same questions that were on the form. They write your temp and responses on a piece of paper and then hand it to you---again with the sharing of shit via paper. Despite being exactly on time I was still made to wait for both my x-rays, and for my appointment w Dr. Singer. I chose to staled the whole time, so maybe it was longer than it seemed, but I didn't like being exposed to people coming and going while I waited. No complaints about my appointment with Dr. Singer. I felt he wore adequate PPE and only asked me to remove my mask when it was absolutely necessary. It felt very safe. All in all, I think Cody is doing a very good job for a large dental practice in the midst of a pandemic. My opportunities for improvement would be 1. moving to electronic forms for those of us who are able to do so and offer paper forms for their older clients who may be less tech savvy. 2. Trying to schedule patients so there is no wait time where they are exposed to others.
