Your teeth are forever and there are a lot of dentists out there that only see the bottom line and will do what it takes to make as much money as they can. This is how I came to be Dr. Yum's patient in the first place. I had been to two other dentists before seeing him. One said I had 9 cavities and needed two crowns, the other said I had 7 cavities and needed two root canals. Unfortunately for those other guys, my mom didn't raise a sucker and I had been a graphic designer for years. I could see what they were doing, they were adjusting the contrast to make it look like I had more cavities with major decay. They were trying to con me by making it look worse than it really was. I declined treatment and insisted on another opinion. My next stop was The Camarillo Dentist Practice. The staff was great right off the bat, you could tell they liked their jobs. Dr. Yum was friendly, funny and sincere. He was honest and took pride in his work and his practice. He didn't adjust the contrast or try to up-sell me in any way. That's when I knew, insurance or not, rich or poor, this guy was going to be my dentist. I would just have to make it work financially because it's a great investment. That was well over 10 years ago and I still have all of my own teeth (minus the wisdom tooth he pulled today).
