I've been going to this office since 2017 and am pleased with the doctors, hygienists, and staff. It's not quite the same as my dentist in San Francisco on the 21st floor downtown with a view of Alcatraz while in the chair, but the folks here are just as nice and professional. And parking is a hell of lot easier read more

A well run machine. Knowledgeable caring people. Definitely user friendly. They make going to the dentist a tolerable experience

i always feared the dentist in fact i've always believed that nature somehow made a big mistake in that these enamel-coated things in our mouths was an error in evolution on my first visit to Dr John, i even asked about sedation and he assured me I wouldn't need it He was correct i find him to be painless and honest I was made to feel as if I had been a patient for years An amazing doctor and a first-rate staff and surroundings Highly recommended read more

So far, really good! I'm a new patient here. This is not the prettiest office in town, however the staff is welcoming, professional, and friendly. I came to the Lake practice when my other new dentist started telling me that I needed new crowns, etc. I asked Dr. Lake for a second opinion. He examined my mouth very thoroughly, asked several questions, and let me know that in his opinion, nothing needed work right now...just as I thought. I want a dentist I can trust, and so far, Dr. John Lake is that guy. read more

I just had my first visit and I've never been in such a friendly office. The staff were delightful. Dr Lake is superb. He's part of this family practice and truly knows his field. He's also kind and gentle. read more

Always been happy however just learned they have become owned by Image dental. Wait and see as I know a big corp will change things.

Went to this practice for a regular check-up at the end of last year while on holiday in Palm Springs and it went really well. The dentist I saw and the staff including the receptionists were super friendly. Strong recommendation. read more

The founder of the practice, who's no longer around, has three sons who are dentists there, and there's also one grandson. I think I've seen each of them at one time or another. They're neither overly friendly nor particularly objectionable. I'm kind of neutral about them personally, but they do good work. There was this one dental assistant who cleaned my teeth there one time who was unpleasant and condescending. I've also had issues with one of the ladies who takes your money and makes your next appointment. She's rude. Otherwise, the support staff has been okay. I got an estimate from them for replacing the veneers on my front teeth that was rather high. I went to Los Algodones -- the dental capital of Mexico on the other side of the border from Yuma, AZ -- and had the same work done for $2000 less than their estimate ($2750 v. $750). That was about three years ago, and I'm perfectly happy with the dental work I got done in Mexico. In fact, I went back there for a crown that's working out just fine. My plan is to use this dental office for routine cleanings or emergencies, but get any expensive dental work done in Mexico. As most Americans would be, I was wary about getting dental work in Mexico, but it has worked out just fine. read more

Dr. Craig Lake is just the BEST! I've seen many a dentist and had become a scaredy cat to the max...until Dr. Craig. He is as gentle as can be, and tells you exactly what he will be doing before touching you. Anytime a shot is needed, well, it's barely felt. I have been known to need more novocaine than the "average" person, and Dr. Craig instinctively seems to know when to administer that extra helping prior to any pain. I highly recommend Dr. Craig and the whole of Lake Dental read more

I can't say enough good things about Lake Dental. First of all, you have to love a truly family-owned and operated business--literally ALL the dentists are brothers or nephews, so there's a practice-wide commitment to excellence that's sincere and pervasive. My actual dentist, Dr. Craig Lake, is one of the absolute finest, no-alarm-fire practitioners I've ever had the privilege of seeing. And my hygienist, Lori, is phenomenal. The. Best. Ever. I used to dread cleanings, but now ... bring it on! She's thorough, careful, and smart, and my teeth are happier for it. I literally cried when my trusted dentist in LA retired. Shortly after moving to the Coachella Valley, I visited a dental practice here that at best was on my insurance plan, at worst seemed more interested in roping me into expensive, unnecessary, even risky procedures (gum grafts for a patient with a bleeding disorder, anyone?). Their billing manager, who had the personality of a carbuncle, overcharged me for simple procedures, and made me pay in advance for routine fillings before she billed my insurance--a violation of their contract, according to the insurance company. When I contacted her for a refund, she weakly claimed that she "just noticed" her error (6 weeks later!) and that I would get a check in a few days. When that didn't happen after 2 weeks, I called again, and she complained there was "a lot going on" and would get to around to issuing my refund the following week. Worse, I had to go through Ms. Carbuncle to have my records transferred to Lake Dental; she sent them a black & white XEROX COPY of my film instead of digital files of my full-mouth x-rays. Maybe she "just noticed" that we're in the 21st Century. Needless to say, I'm grateful to be a Lake Dental patient. No up-sell, no unnecessary procedures, no greed or incompetence--just pure, excellent dentistry. THANK YOU, Lake Dental!! read more

Seriously, go elsewhere. Strictly a money-machine over there. There are just a handful few good dentists in Palm Springs; this is office is NOT one of them. Far-far-far too expensive for the level of work of they perform and MUCH more interested in BILLING than customer care. Awful experience. read more

Had a large, prominent crown replaced my Dr Steve Lake. Always such perfection....the first time. The temporary was perfect, as was the final fitting of the crown. Most people that know Dr. Steve are aware of his precision...and shear talent. I recommend him without the slightest hesitation. read more

I have referred several friends to this dental practice (I go to Dr. Craig Lake) and all have been very happy with the professionalism, skill and courtesy of the dentists and staff. They're the best! read more

Dr. Lake and the staff at Desert Hills in Yucca Valley are phenomenal! Patient, caring, friendly and so very genuine in their care for you as a patient. Yucca Valley is so very blessed to have such a wonderful dentistry business in town. read more

Dr. Robert and his staff are the BEST! Very gentle! I have a lot of anxiety when I have to see a dentist and Dr. Robert was incredible. It took a long time to find the right dentist, so glade I did! I will not go anywhere else. read more

Happy to say that this practice is the textbook model for ALL in healthcare and I am proud to be one of the many patients they see.... Just plain excellent hygiene and exceptional dental care. read more

If there were 10 stars I would have to award them to Dr. Craig Lake. I am the world's biggest scaredy-cat when it comes to the word dentist. Immediately I conjure up visions of a torture chamber. Not so with the magic hands of Dr. Craig. Even his shots of numbing anesthesia are hardly felt at all! He puts a whole new great meaning to painless dentistry. Also, the office will take care of you during "off" hours because all the other doctor brothers cover for one another. What a find! The prices are comparable to the market but well worth it!!! The office is very professional and in an easy to park location in downtown Palm Springs. read more

AMAZING! Had a friend who was visiting and in pain and Googled an emergency dentist in Palm Springs for after hours one hour before they closed and all I got was a real bitch with a run around "Who's on 3rd?" act with no humanity or helpful information. Too busy with Zoom Whitening to give a damn? Sad! Don't list emergency help online if you can't refer or set someone up. Wow! read more

I am in this area traveling and had a filling come out. Called Lake Dental and got in that afternoon. The person I talked with, Amy, was great. Got there and was handled promptly, friendly and professionally. Dr James Lake checked out tooth, gave good synopsis, told me the cost, and fixed it. Very sastified with the entire process. I do not have dental insurance and thought the cost was reasonable. I would recommend the clinic and Dr James Lake to anyone. If I have any other problems I will call them. read more

They are the very best. Excellent work, truthful opinions as to what should be done or NOT. They know the meaning of "ethical." When we moved to the Desert from Santa Monica, in 1999, our dentist was retiring. A neighbor gave us the recommendation. We went in for a consult/interview & were very impressed. We have not been disappointed. We moved out of PS in 2015 to Palm Desert, but would never think of changing only to be closer to someone else. Our Dr.Lake is Craig. read more

Lake Dental is the best office I have been to. They were able to get me in same day when my tooth broke, Dr. Steven Lake was very professional, put me at ease and his assistant was so sweet. When taking care of billing Yolanda was amazing at working with me and putting my mind at ease. I wont go to anyone else in the valley! read more

I am the worlds worst dental patient. I gag easily. I flinch any time the dentist even looks like he might be going to do something. This office is GREAT! The hygienist is the best I've ever had (at 69, I've had a few) and Dr. James is young, kind, caring, and very patient. I got several quotes for the work that needed to be done and these guys weren't low, nor were they high, but they were the best in explaining what was needed and being patient with me to get my act together. read more

Dr. Craig, Colleen and the entire staff are exceptional. As a healthcare provider myself, I only wish I were as talented as this team. Proficient, kind, and reasonable....just came back from being 'squeezed in'...with a smile! read more

I've been a patient there for several years, just getting cleanings and not needing any real dental work. When I did need a crown, it was difficult to get an appointment...also I had 4 temporary crowns because they kept breaking. By the time my crown came in, it didn't fit because my teeth had shifted!! I had to be prepped again for a crown and wait another 4 weeks! Seriously, the worse experience getting a crown I've ever experienced and I have 6 other ones. Just sayin' read more
