I'll start off by saying my first experience with this office was not great. It was mostly a scheduling error, and I waited for an hour to see Dr. DG (or so I thought), but ended up seeing another Dr who said she needed to get his input. It left kind of a negative impression for me and I almost didn't come back. That being said, I decided to give them another chance and SO glad I did. I went back in today and had an amazing experience. The waiting room has tons of fun things for the kids/teens to do so they don't mind waiting. I met Dr. DG and he had excellent bedside manner. He's very thorough and took the time to explain everything extensively. And then there is his assistant Raquel. That woman is a true gem. She is organized, friendly, extremely knowledgeable. As an owner of a medical practice myself, I appreciate good talent and she is the best. I will be starting treatment with their office for my son and if you are looking for an orthodontist, look no further. I highly recommend! read more

Total Waste of time and money! Parents, do your home work before coming here, not every kid need stage 1& 2 for Ortho treatment, only dr.DiGi recommends it in 95%, as he mentioned to me and promised that my son only needs 1st stage. Well, assistant mounted brackets sideways and my sons teeth tilted to the wrong direction and it took DiGi only 6 months to remount them properly, he was too busy to even see my son before that. Then they just suddenly stopped treatment as soon as monthly payments of "first stage" been finished and it was not even close to be done and asked for another 4+K and I waved them goodbye. I was so upset because believed dr. that my son ONLY needs 1st stage. I was beyond frustrated and went to another orthodontist and she just laughed and said that I got ripped by hungry NB doctor who needs to pay rent for his fancy offices. read more

My dentist of over 20 years suggested Dr. DiGiovanni for my Orthodontia needs. The office is nicely decorated and you can see they have a ton of clients. I am sure they were good at some point, but they are too busy to take on new customers. I honestly would not suggest them. Too many things went wrong. 1) The online system notifies you of your appointment with the wrong time. Since I showed up late, I was not able to see Dr. Digiovanni. They continued to take prelim pictures in order to do a 3D Mock Up. 2) They have a special new patient coordinator that assured me that Dr. Digi would contact me with next steps. I am not sure if the new patient coordinator screwed up or this was a huge miss by the Orthodontist. 3) My appointment was on June 8th and I have never heard back from them. We chose to trust Dr. DiGiovanni with both of our kids' orthodontic treatment because my husband, who is a general dentist, did a dental study club with Dr. DiGiovanni and my husband got to see first-hand just how knowledgeable and caring Dr. DiGiovanni is. Forget the fact that he has a beautiful office near Fashion Island; he is so kind and gentle with the kids; he is so experienced and has already successfully treated many of our friends' kids, as well, Dr. DiGiovanni always goes the extra mile and makes sure that whatever issues you have concerns about gets addressed in a timely and thorough manner. For example, my husband and I really did not want to have to pull any of our kids' teeth, if possible, for orthodontic treatment. So, Dr. DiGiovanni made sure that spacers were put into my son's mouth early on, before the braces even go on. This way, there would be enough space for our son's teeth to grow in and we will most likely not have to pull any of his permanent teeth to make room. Yay!! Also, our daughter was referred to go see an oral surgeon before treatment started to make sure that her teeth will grow in properly and to see if any baby teeth needed to be pulled first. We really appreciate Dr. DiGiovanni taking all of these precautionary steps before treatment even starts, to make sure that the procedures go smoothly and we don't have to pull any of the kids' permanent teeth in order to make their teeth straight, with a good bite, in the end. ADULT ORTHO MADE TOLERABLE If you've decided to take the plunge and fix your teeth as a full grown responsible tax paying adult, this is really the only place to go. Dr. Digi probably treats 40% adults and really knows his craft. I feel very confident in his thorough 18 month treatment plan. His personality is really kind and he is very thorough explaining what you'll be suffering through! (Braces are no joke!) I can't wait for my result. I had an amazing experience with DiGiovanni and Cook Orthodontics!!! I am still currently in my braces so you can send me a message about any questions you might have! I am 19 years old. I never had braces when I was younger, and I was starting to feel very self conscious about my smile. First off, I have to say they are the best orthodontists ever. I shopped around before picking DiGiovanni and Cook and no one else compared to them. It was super fun, I enjoyed all of my visits! They have the best waiting room I have ever seen. The staff is soooo nice and friendly, I personally had Dr. Cook as my Ortho and she was great, I noticed results in my teeth ( I had a bad gap and when I closed my mouth it looked like my mouth was still open :P ) Within the first few weeks my bite dramatically changed and its still changing! My teeth are almost perfect now and i have a short time to go, but i was surprised at how fast and easy my treatment has been. They work with your school and work schedule, im working and in college currently so this was a definite plus for me. They have the most advanced technology currently available, and are constantly researching new ideas and going to conferences to have the best orthodontic technology/services available. I must also say that they do a different variety of options to choose from, invisalign, "Invisible" ceramic braces, traditional metal braces, etc. and all of the services are reasonably priced plus they fix your braces for FREE at anytime if you break a bracket or rubber band, no questions asked!! ...that was the best part for me because I love hard candy, chewing/crunching ice cubes, and sticky foods so I was getting mine fixed often haha. Another thing they do is a point/reward systems which is pretty cool, they let you earn points for different things (they give you a huge list) and you can cash in your points for awesome prizes (Disneyland Passes, Nordtroms gift cards, iPod touches, and almost anything else you can think of..the list is gigantic!) This review was a long time coming. If you are looking up Dr DG, chances are that you or your child need braces. I met Dr DG as a 38 year old with a crossbite/ underbite. Prior to this, I had consults with at least 2 other Newport orthos (one of them was actually my child's ortho), and all of them had the same general recommendation: to have jaw surgery which involved breaking my jaw to align it properly, and then get in braces for about 2+ years. I did NOT want to do this, at age 38. What I wanted was camouflage dentistry with sustainable results. (I discovered that this was an option because I became friendly with another dentist. Up until then, I didn't even realize it was an option or I would have done it sooner.) I met with Dr DG and he was the ONLY ortho that got it. We did Xrays, went thru treatment and surgery options (yes, I fully understood and signed off on the risks and just to be sure, met with 2 independent oral surgeons - one that he recommended and another reputable one). I did a ton of research on the web, even watched a jaw surgery on Youtube (super gross, don't do it)! I will not describe my specific treatment plan (you should understand your own, though)- but let me put it this way. About 18-20 months of clear braces and other stuff later, my teeth look awesome. They really do. I am so happy with the results, I get compliments all the time, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Don't get me wrong. I did not love being IN braces. But, I love my teeth now. And working with Dr DG made what would have been a not-fun experience, productively fun. Dr DG and his staff were a dream to work with. They were accommodating, caring, gentle when needed, quick with offering the Advil (ha!), fast when I needed to get somewhere else, flexible about fitting me in (even after hours) when "something just isn't right" and always explained to me what was going on with my teeth and (the inevitable question at about 18 months)- HOW MUCH LONGER AND WHY. Always. Another always- I always saw Dr. DG at every appointment, so he had full mastery of what he wanted to do with this complicated case. He stayed as long as he needed to- could be 5 minutes ("OK, we're on course here, carry on") or he could be 25 minutes. I did not feel rushed. If cost is an issue, Dr DG;s quote for my treatment (the braces part) was exactly the same as everybody else's. Or less, actually (since it ended up not involving the jaw surgery). Incidentally, I did not interview Dr DG for my children's ortho care because someone told me that he was expensive. That's just not true. I wish I knew then what I know now. Dr. DiGiovanni and his staff are absolutely amazing! I came here as an adult female in her 40s regarding a tooth that has always been much higher than all the other teeth. I was interested in Invisalign. However, after my consultation, it was determined that I would need traditional braces. Raquel, who I consider my handler, met with me and went over my treatment options. She was absolutely awesome in every way! She was very clear with the timeline and also let me know that the tooth could in fact be fused and even with treatment may not move. I decided to take the chance anyway. While having the braces, the office accommodated me for a broken bracket, a pokey wire, and my appointments. They knew my case and everyone, and I mean everyone was cheering for me and rooting for my tooth to move! I had this entire team of people totally supporting me, which made their office a wonderful place to visit (which is so weird for me to say about an orthodontic office but so true!) Dr. DiGiovanni and his staff never rushed and always answered my questions. I honestly cannot say enough about the staff and service. Unfortunately, for me, the tooth did not move but the office was very clear from the beginning that it might not. Dr. G gave me some options for next steps. I tried all of those but the tooth still did not move. But again, each step of the way, the team was hoping as was I. In the end, my teeth were much straighter and Dr. G ultimately recommended another option with bonding that "fixed" that tooth so my smile was much more straight! I went into Dr. Digi office not because I needed braces, because I did not like how my lower teeth grew in as a child. Let's just say they were straight to most people, but not too me. The staff did not see any need for me having braces, but since I was not satisfied, the staff and Dr. Digi did whatever it took to make me happy with my lower teeth. As adults if we need braces we usually put it off. I was no different, I put off braces for so many years and finally decided to do them. My treatment was unbelievably fast and painless.
