What a hidden gem of an office! I found them through my insurance and of course, I checked Yelp before making an appointment. The Yelpers definitely got this one right! I had an unfortunate incident with a candy cane and cracked my filling. My usual dentist was on holiday so I figured I'd just get it done rather than waiting a few more weeks. I made the appointment online which made the whole process a breeze. The staff called to confirm and just from that conversation, I could tell they were super sweet and on top of it. The day of, I was a nervous wreck because I knew what was coming. When I walked in I was greeted with a warm welcome and walked back almost immediately. I finally met the dentist and told him my fears, he was kind, funny and put my anxiety to rest. He's got the most gentle touch and did a phenomenal job. I also need to note that his Dental Hygienist was a doll and made me laugh the whole time. Needless to say, I booked my cleaning appointment with him and have decided to switch dental offices. Sooo, unfortunately this practice was sold. I've seen the new Dr and the hygenist stayed on board...the are great! No complaints! However...the office staff when you call are not helpful. Also, they claim to no longer have any of my recorde...they "cant access them," because they got a new software system....So, that's illegal. You can't just destroy or not have access to patient records. Of course you can access them, you just don't want to do the work to get them. I'm pretty sure if a lawyer contacted you or if the dental records were needed for identification purposes, you would find a way. It's unfortunate and frustrating for patients who have moved because all my records are just "gone" now!?? Si I have to get x rays again because you don't feel like retreiving patient records because it's a hassle. You can do it! I'm sure of it! read more

I've been with Brite Clean Smiles for about 7 years or so. It was disappointing to learn that Dr. Girgis left. I trusted him and was concerned about whether the new dentists would have the same integrity. Dr. G is the best because he was honest and didn't try to upsell me. I wanted to do so many things with my teeth, and he'd tell me if I really didn't need to do some of those things and even suggested cheaper alternatives without me even asking. The year I met him, I went to 4 other dentists to find "the one." Patty the hygienist is still there which is amazing. She's gentle, thorough and super sweet and genuine. Her outlook on dental care and total vibe is the same as Dr. G and that's comforting. I met Dr. Shadi in my last visit. She was pleasant and knowledgeable, and I can see myself going back to her every 6 months and when need work done. It looks like handoff in ownership went smoothly and I'm relieved that Dr. Shadi will be my new dentist :) read more

I'll start off this review by saying the dental hygienist Patty is so sweet and amazing at her job! I almost would stay just for her teeth cleanings. However, I recently was told I had 8 or 9 cavities after previously only ever having 1 or 2 in my entire life. I had gone for teeth cleanings regularly so it's not like I was behind on my upkeep. They suggested it was due to pregnancy, but usually your gums are affected during pregnancy and teeth only if your diet changes significantly which mine did not. I had a few of the "cavities" filled on the spot, and paid for them, but still felt 9 could not be true. I received a second opinion and was told I had NO cavities and only staining and the cavities that were filled were done so poorly and improperly. Do not use this dentist! read more

This is a heads up. It is a new practice now as Dr. Mina Girgiss sold his practice and they are doing things in a new way. Which is their right of course. Don't expect it to be like it was. loved coming here and being helped by the previous owner, Dr. Girgis and his kind and supportive staff including his amazing compassionate and skilled hygenist, Patty. The new staff and business is so different... .The receptionist made me very uncomfortable in every conversation I had with her. It is fine if you book 2 + months ahead and are OK with paying a lot more for everything. *booked 2 + months out *it was discouraged to call for a cancellation as they have a "list" and I was told by one receptionist that she chooses whom she offers a cancellation to... tip.. do what I did and call when she might be at lunch? See my comment below. *payment required up front before service when i said I would wait until I was finished to pay as I was accustomed to doing with Dr. Mina's practice. *Ozone no longer included with cleaning. VERY expensive now and per quadrant. *My paid for Zoom treatment .. receptionist told me it would not be honored. *Dr. Daniel seems to have merged his practices.. this one and his own practice so the office is much busier. Dr. Daniel was kind and impressive my first visit.. he only works a couple of days of week here now. Dr. Shadi really nice today altho she was not the same dentist who saw me last time and I was not aware it was a revolving door of changing staff with the exception of the wonderful hygenist Patty who is still there from Dr. Girgiss practice. Trying to get in on a cancellation because I didn't want to wait 2 months out was discouraged and it made me sick to my stomach after a couple of very polite tries when I called to check on availability and then was told I should ... "go somewhere else". First time in, Dr. Michaels saw me and was very nice! He told me nothing would change with service or pricing. WHEW! Second time back.. When I went in a week and a half ago finally getting in on a cancellation that I was given when that receptionist was on her lunch break and someone else took my call, (suddenly there were two openings within a day), Zoom is now $300 instead of $99, cleaning is $104 instead of $79 and Ozone which was including with the cleaning is I forget exactly as I was shocked.. over a hundred dollars per quadrant. And the Zoom I already paid for is not noted anywhere in their system they say and I'm told it won't be honored. That's a chunk of money! I was told the office manager would call me and so far no one has called and it's been a week and a half. The new owner has every right to change the pricing,. Just please honor what you say to the patients from the previous practice when you first opened under new management and don't keep changing it? Normally, if one of these things happen, customer service oriented friendly staff would say something like.. I'm so sorry this is happening.. how can we make it right and at least try. I found Dr. Girgis new practice but he can't see his patients from BCS as he is under a non-compete. Found his cousin, also named Dr. Girgis who has a dental practice in Long Beach and when I contacted them, everyone has been REALLY welcoming, supportive and kind. Just like Dr. Mina Girgiss was when he owned this practice. That practice also has ozone and does charge for it altho it is much less expensive than this new practice at BCS. I am still waiting for the call from the office manager after a week and a half so I decided to go ahead and post this. I get a knot in my stomach thinking about it as I am anticipating more of "this is a new practice and we do things differently" which was said to me over and over in response to every question I voiced. .. more of the disappointing type of communication I've already experienced. Came here for a routine dental cleaning and the staff were all very nice and efficient. The cleaning was quick and painless and I left with a sparkling mouth. The Doctor was able to recommend me to an orthopedic surgeon to look into my wisdom teeth for jaw pain. I also returned for a night guard fitting that was an in and out appointment. I just want to comment on how pleased I was today with Brite Clean Smiles. From the receptionist Natile who greeted me when I walked to the assistant who took my X-rays. Then I got introduced to the Dr Girgis who Was amazing. I am one individual who doesn't like going to the dentist especially after my last encounter at another location in Corona. Dr. Girgis heard what my issues were and put me at ease with how we would move forward. I was in and out of the office within an hour. Great experience I highly recommend him and his office. Moving to a new city means finding a new dentist: and boy am I glad I found Brite Clean Smiles! I'll pass on the fancy TVs and the take-home goodie bags I never use... I'd rather have a dentist who runs an honest business and doesn't upsell any day. Now, don't get me wrong. It isn't "bare bones". The establishment is very clean and the waiting room is comfortable. I appreciate the fragrance in the bathroom and the two options for mouthwash- one generic and one more "natural." Now those details DO matter! I came in for routine X-rays, cleaning and a zoom whitening treatment ($200 for new patients paying out-of-pocket, which is a very fair price!). All of the staff were professional and friendly, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that Dr. Girgis was the one who was going to clean my teeth. Nothing against hygienists, but it's nice to have the dentist examine my teeth (especially for the first time). Dr. Girgis was very gentle and thorough during the cleaning, and has good bedside manner too. The x-rays revealed that I need to replace several old fillings- I appreciated that the doctor took the time to show me the x-ray photo I could see the decay myself. While not cheap, taking care of my teeth is top priority and I'll definitely be back once I switch to PPO insurance. Thanks Dr. Girgis and Staff for a great experience. read more

Staff was PHENOMENAL from start to finish. The dental hygienist, Patty, notably puts so much care and live into what she's doing. She was extremely gentle, communicative, and would explain the chain of upcoming processes a few different times which provides a sense of comfort when you're aware of what's going on and what's going to happen. Melissa who whitened my teeth and Natalie at the front desk were extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and kind. The doctor is always a pleasure to speak with as well. Please Beware. I went for my 6 mo. checkup and found Dr. Mina Girgis sold the practice. I've had NO cavities in over 50 years and suddenly the new dentist claimed I have 6! My last appointment was half a year ago and there were none. They also recommended several therapies including teeth whitening and Invisalign. I had braces and my teeth are very straight. All I wanted was a new mouth guard! I have dental hygienists in my family. They've moved offices over the years to avoid horrific upsell practices of the dentist. Sadly, this once wonderful practice in Costa Mesa has been infected by the upsell virus. I will wait for 6 months and seek a new dentist as honest as I experienced Dr. Girgis to be. read more

The dentist is fantastic. Would be 5 stars, except... The front office staff is terrible with insurance. It's always a problem with them. I have a PPO insurance and they are telling me it's HMO. I called my insurance to verify and yes, it IS a PPO. I tell them and they can't figure it out? I went to another dentist with no problem with the same insurance, and they were able to see it was a PPO. My boyfriend's insurance is also a problem for them, for no reason. I don't know why it's such a fight every single time for insurance. I don't want to call the front office staff incompetent, but, as someone who is front office for a doctor's office (I know it's a little different between medical and dental) who also comes in contact with insurance, this is unacceptable and extremely frustrating. read more

It was extremely heartbreaking and the new dentist Dr. Danial aka Mike is all about money & THATS IT. It used to be a holistic practice & although they are trying to sell the dream of it still being holistic, it is NOT. This place is now far from it now. Dr. Mina Girgis is the most amazing dentist I've ever had (and I had quite many over the years). He is honest, gentle, understanding, compassionate and patient, and I cannot express how grateful I am that I've found him. In addition, he is a holistic dentist and SMART certified by the IAOMT, which means he can remove amalgam fillings in a safe way. He was also far the most affordable holistic dentist that I could find in the LA/OC area. He removed all of my mercury fillings and used a safe, non-BPA composite to replace them, as well as crowns on the ones that could not be filled. He even filled one small cavity and fixed a gap between my teeth for free! I went to a consultation to a different place just before I found Dr. Girgis' service and they wanted to charge me almost double for the work they proposed: they recommended more crowns and even root canal that turned out, wasn't needed. Dr. Girgis was extremely honest and helpful, and he even offered me a discount for my dental plan. I can HIGHLY recommend Dr. Girgis and his team: Pita, his assistant, and Lee, the receptionist lady are both amazing and very kind. As a complement to my treatment plan, he also provided me with free teeth whitening with ZOOM and free whitening trays. If you are anxious, do not hesitate to choose Dr. Girgis, as he is the best and most caring dentist you could ever have. read more
