My first time in the salon, I walked in & no one greeted me, actually no one was there. I just stood there not knowing what to do. I finally sat in a chair & waited. An older women with extremely short (unkept hair)came out and finished at the counter, looked at me, the walked away. I feel like she gave me a stare down, made me feel horrible. Finally a red head came out super big smile and was nice. She said John the owner would be with me soon. Almost 15 minutes after my appointment was suppose to start, a man came got me, I thought he was John but he's just the shampoo guy. The haircut was good, but I felt John talked a lot about himself, & apparently he has a lot of ex wives (the shampoo guy was doing a women who was joking with them about his Ex's). I could see past all the failures of good business's practice because the cut was brilliant; until my second visit.
My second visit, still no greeting, the bathroom was still out of toilet paper, & the older stylist still ignored me. This time john 's assistant did my wash & style, John only did the cut, which was not as brilliant this time. I noticed hair piled up on the floor next to the garbage my first visit, well that's consistent because it was there my second visit to. After my cut I thought I'd purchase the shampoo he used on me, but the salon had no shampoo. John was walking around with an un-lit cigar in his mouth , which is quite tacky.
I went back 2 more times and went to Aimee. She really was great, and I was very happy with her and the redhead that always greeted me. However the last time I went I also got my eyebrows waxed by the foreign lady, I was absolutely grossed out by her unkept room.
I decided not to go back because on top of everything, every time I call no one answers the phone (I think it rang 9times before anyone picked up at 11:40am on a Thursday). Obviously not a happy client. For an upscale swanky jamestown salon I would say it's more of an illusion. read more
