We had the displeasure of working with this third-grade builder that presents itself and "premium." --Either they don't know what the word means, or they know they're lying. I'd argue for both. We received daily calls from JCH to "follow-up," so we signed a contract with this builder, gave them a check, and literally the next day our calls, emails went answered, they thought they had us hooked and now we're in their hands. They spent 4 months not replying and when they did, they literally lied every step of the way. We dealt with Don the salesman, Mark, and John Cannon himself. One thing I can clearly remember was John Cannon saying he's been building homes for the last 30 years, and he's never been sued. If you go to https://records.manateeclerk.com/CourtRecords/Search/Business and type in John Cannon Homes you will see they've been sued more times than they can count. As honest people we ended up falling for their con, however, we sued them and got our money back. Save your time and money, don't build with amateurs, do your research, ask anyone that's built with JCH before and they will tell you, to run for the hills, you're better off building the house yourself. Don't use them, seek others. read more

A look from inside John Cannon Homes. I am an employee of JCH and can say that it is a wonderful Company to work in and to have your custom home built by. I came to John Cannon Homes from management and ownership positions in industries outside of the real estate/building Industry. It's fun to come to work because my coworkers are incredibly smart, the work is challenging and rewarding, and the work environment encourages excellence. I can say that John Cannon's commitment to building excellence and customer satisfaction is second to none. He is a great leader and he is involved in every aspect of building dream homes - from drawing plans all the way through to completion of construction. He enjoys working with every client and he gives us the guidance and the tools we need to be the best in our jobs and to make the building process easy and fun for our clients. As you can tell I think JCH is a great Company. Donald Miller read more

We've just moved into our Custom John Cannon Home and while it took longer than we anticipated, it was well worth the wait. They followed through on every aspect to not only meet our expectations, but exceed them. I think the process was stressful for everyone in the current construction climate and we are glad we chose to go with them to build our dream home. There are still homes being built around us from other builders and they are no where near the quality of our project. Cons- Build time (mostly due to backed up material delays). Pros- Custom home- one of a kind, safe, top notch quality, attention to detail, great customer service, friendly project managers, and can always count on a completed project. That is worth so much in value alone. We would 100% build with them again. read more

John Cannon Home Builders has been amazing to work with on building our new home. Their design staff and their architectural department have exceeded our expectations with their incredible attention to detail. We are having them build us a one of a kind custom home in Welles Park, FL in the Everly Community. Our building superintendent in charge of construction, Jason Carr, has been a delight to work with. As we are not in Florida at this time, his daily communications makes us feel like we are. He updates us with pictures of the build site and the community, as well as giving us progress reports. We cannot thank him enough as we look forward to each day to his update reports and pictures of our site. Thank you Jason very much. Bob and Susie P. read more

We were in the process of building what will likely be our last home, given our age, when unforeseeable events occurred. Our builder was one of the very best, if not the best, in this area. However, the pandemic wrought havoc on schedules, parts and systems deliveries, and personnel, including our project manager, who literally disappeared. This challenging episode turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The new project manager, Marshall Fuessel, is extremely well-organized and demonstrated outstanding multitasking capabilities. He efficiently put things in order and resolved all pending issues. It is a pleasure to congratulate and thank Marshall Fuessel for his exceptional contribution to the delivery of our beautiful home. John Cannon Homes is the best home builder in the state. The home designs are of the highest quality, leaving nothing out of mind and taking no short cuts. The walk through of the final product will be the easiest you have ever done as they are very meticulous and detail oriented. I have no idea what warrants the bad review here. I would imagine there is a lot more to the story than just what the reviewer is sharing. Some buyers make the process a 2 1/2 year process due to changing minds and designs etc. We however had zero issues and the project was within the stated timeframes as expected. It is a beautiful home and we are very proud to show it off to our friends and family! read more

It's great to have had such a positive and long-lasting experience with John Cannon Homes - more than 20 years! It's a testament to their commitment to improving their management team, fostering a client-focused culture, and consistently delivering high-quality services. Additionally, the fact that I've referred several friends and received positive feedback about their construction timeline, communication, professionalism, and work quality speaks to their consistency in delivering high-quality services. I can personally attest and confirm that their insurance program is equally as impressive and will meet any need you have from a lender. read more

My wife and I decided it was time to get the dream home we have wanted for some time. After a year of looking and weighing options, we decided our choice would be John Cannon Homes. We each have our own priority lists for our dream home and we found several models and plans at JCH that meet all of our priorities. The onsite realtor was very professional and knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions. My first custom home and it's been such a wonderful experience working with all members thus far. They are knowledgeable and truly assisting me in the best way. I look forward to continuing to learn and see their amazing work. I didn't do much research before signing with them for some reason. It just felt right meeting Bob and their team members at the beginning. So allow the universe to guide me. From reading some of the post today, I'm grateful that they are building my new home that would sustain the weather in Sarasota. read more

Stopped by the John Cannon Homes model while we're starting our home search and were throughly impressed. Jennifer was friendly and knowledgeable. She is great to talk with about the building process. We have friends building at Kingfisher Estates in Waterside, and after touring the model, we totally understand why they chose Cannon Homes. Drool worthy homes with unique details, and the outdoor living spaces feel like you're at a luxury resort. Definitely worth checking out! read more

John Cannon builds a beautiful home. The craftsmanship is better than other builders I have encountered. While building times are subject to change - and they do - because of supply issues and labor issues - there is no denying that his homes are quality constructed and no corners have been cut. Building a home is stressful, but being able to do everything with John Cannon Homes has been a relief. read more
