Let me start by saying that Dr Birkbeck is one of the nicest people I have met since moving to the…read moreNorth Bay three years ago. Not only is he a very gifted surgeon and family man but also just a down to earth approachable guy that likes to Mt Bike. I sought out Dr Birkbeck and his team specifically because he specializes in hand and wrist surgery. My experience was absolutely wonderful from the initial consultation to the final follow up appointment. I was also seen by one of the groups PA's Alexis Rockwell and she is amazing as well. It was obvious to me that they care very deeply about how their patents are doing post surgery and I was given ample opportunities and encouraged to ask questions. I had absolutely no discomfort after my surgery and was given adequate pain medication if I should need it post surgically but it was not required. I am not in a big hurry to have surgery again anytime soon but if the need should arise there is no question in my mind that I would chose Dr Birkbeck and his team of dedicated professionals for any orthopedic needs I may require in the future. I would also not hesitate to refer my friends and family to Dr Birkbeck. From the bottom of my heart thank you once again Dr Birkbeck for such outstanding care. P.S. I was back on my Mt Bike five weeks after surgery!!!! Very Respectfully; Dr Philip R Clark DDS FAGD CRTT

Dr Birkbeck is awesome! The Nursing Staff is awesome!…read more The receptionists service was AWFUL! My experience with the front, the receptionist, was AWFUL. I sat for over 30 min after my scheduled appointment time, I even waited approximately 15 min to ask when I was going to be seen and why a patient that came in after me was being called before me and the receptionist said with a superior tone, "some patients need x rays and there are different doctors" (I literally heard the patient called for the same doctor as me), and then I was told by the nurse "I'm sorry about the wait, you were never checked in". To me that is unacceptable, it wasn't even that busy in the front, why wasn't I checked in by the receptionist? The way the receptionist dealt with me and my situation made me feel like she was looking down on me, like I was stupid or something. I'm very observant and pay attention to things. I had other appointments to get to, I even came in early.

I truly believe they care for their patients and do their absolute best to get you back doing what you love. The staff is one of the best that I've ever had to deal with, they provide a warm and welcoming smiles and a positive atmosphere which is crucial for recovery. I personally want to say thank you for being such a God sent. I would absolute recommend them to anyone who's looking for a positive outcome.

Now, as a combat veteran with disability (PTSD) and having a service animal, came to get service at this clinic for unrelated treatment. When it was my turn and my name was called by one of the treatment staff, I felt disrespected by this individual (James) that approached me on my appointment day at this clinic and had the audacity to ask me if I have a certificate for my service animal. Although, we have been in this clinic before, and no one cares about it. This individual must know that PTSD is not a sign of weakness it is a sign of Absolute Strength, PTSD is earned by doing what others Fear. So, to answer this ignorant staff member (James) question the answer is: No, a service animal does not need to be certified, registered, or licensed under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in the United States. What the Law Requires *No official paperwork: The federal government has no official test, registry, certification, or ID card for service animals. *No professional training mandate: Owners are legally allowed to train their own service animals. *No gear requirements: Service animals do not have to wear a special vest, cape, tag, or ID badge. *Task requirement: The animal must be individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability. Online Certifications and Scams *No legal weight: Many websites sell online "service dog registrations" or certificates, but the Department of Justice does not recognize them. *Not allowed as proof: Businesses and public places cannot legally demand certification, ID cards, or special proof as a condition of entry. Allowed Questions If it is not obvious what service an animal provides, staff in public places are only allowed to ask two questions: 1. Is the animal required because of a disability? 2. What work or task has the animal been trained to perform?

Dr. Huffman and his staff, Dawn and Sarah are professional, compassionate and efficient. He listens and spends the time needed during an office visit. Over the years I've had numerous epidural injections and nerve blocks, and Dr. Huffman he was always professional and gentle with every treatment received. Dr. Huffman never rushed me into surgery but always worked with me and took the time to explain the results of all my diagnostic tests. Over the years my spine has deteriorated to a point where surgery is now indicative. The only reason I'm moving forward with the surgery, is that I have complete confidence and trust in Dr. Huffman and his staff. I'm ready to get my quality of life back. Thank you Dr. Huffman, Dawn and Sarah, for the quality of care rendered to date! June B.

His staff member ( I was told there are 2) was so condescending, unprofessional, and nasty to both of us that I decided (with my primary care doctor's blessing), to go to Golden State Ortho in Walnut Creek, which offers a very professional and friendly environment, staff, and physicians. I have been a clinical nurse specialist for a long time and have only been treated like this once before within the same practice/ Napa Valley Ortho/ back in 2019. I was going to give Huffman a try since he is a different type of specialist than the one I saw in 2019. However, even though Walnut Creek is more inconvenient than Napa, I'm very happy with Golden State Ortho. Until doctors start being responsible for their office staff's approach to patients, the patients will be unhappy with the doctor before they even meet her/him, the disrespectful and unprofessional tone being set by the staff. hope Dr Huffman sees this review.
