Within two weeks it backed up again. I called someone else to redo the jetting and repair the hole, which he did for a fraction of the cost Yard charged. The system has been functioning perfectly now for 5 months. The only good thing I can say about Yard Plumbing is that they gave me a partial refund of what I paid, which they didn't really have to do.

Yikes! The plumber was impatient with us for buying the wrong garbage disposal, and said he couldn't do anything and wouldn't be able to come back for days. I walked out of the room and my fiancé stayed with him asking what we should do - we just need to get a new garbage disposal that doesn't have a cord. So we call the office when the plumber leaves to see when we can get another appointment and the woman says tomorrow. Great. Then we get a call back and the woman says the plumber won't be returning to our home because we did not take his advice and he's an expert of 25 years and she hung up on us. Steer clear of these guys.

I…read morealso have a friend who has had positive experiences with Old York so I didn't hesitate to call them when my 1st floor unit AC wasn't working. They were prompt in scheduling an appt. and actually called the day before because the technician was "right around the corner" so he came a day earlier. Apparently the emergency "off" switch was accidentally turned off when my husband changed the filter. He noticed it immediately but charged me $150 for the visit. I understand a minimum trip charge but he was literally less than 1/2 mile away so he wasn't going out of his way to come to my house. When I called Old York to explain that I thought the charge was excessive considering all he had to do was flip a switch, I was told someone would call me back in a couple of days. Of course no one did and when I followed up a week later I was told that the technician also checked the electrical connections and the pressure and that is how they justified that charge. He was here no more than 10 minutes but spent 1/2 hr sitting in my driveway afterwards. I guess that is how they justify the time spent on the job even if they aren't doing anything. You would think they might offer a partial credit towards a future service just to keep a customer. I will not be using their services in the future nor will I recommend them.

But wait, they only have after hours service which costs even more.  This company obviously has not matured with the times.  A professional company would have done a better job of trying to figure out why their sticker, installation date and warranty info is on a tank they supposedly did not install. Go to a company that knows what they are doing.  I would not give this company my business or recommend them to anyone I care about. I searched long and hard to find a local business to patronize. The plumber was early the first day and on time the second day. The job he performed was excellent. He was helpful and good natured. The company itself is another story. Shortly after the plumber left I noticed that the shower pipe was loose. I left a message at 11:30 AM to explain the situation and if they could advise me. Do they have someone who can cut the drywall and re-attach the pipe? Do I need to call a different type of contractor? No return call. I called again at 2:30 PM. No answer, and again no return call. I called the office the next morning, and once again no answer and no return call. It's hard to believe there is no one to answer the phone in the middle of a work day or return calls later on. If there were extenuating circumstances why they couldn't return calls at that time, at least call at some later time and apologize for not getting back sooner. My messages were polite and not confrontational. I did my part and paid my bill at the time of service, so I expected the decency of a response. But the deliberate and callous conduct by this company does not deserve my business and anyone reading this should think twice before engaging their services.
